There is plenty of parking, you can make a reservation ahead of time and then check in on the iPad. They serve complimentary drinks when you get your nails done, mimosas and wine for 21+, water, tea, coffee, sodas. What salon offers that without an extra charge? This salon is pretty up to date and modern, they have a TV, very comfortable chairs and it's a very relaxing time. You can make a payment either by credit card, cash, Venmo, and even zelle! I always go for dip nails and gel pedicures which can last me a long time. I've been a regular customer here and always had good experiences, until my last visit. I tried to use a gift card I received for my birthday, but the system showed it had already been used, on a day I was actually at work, 11 days before my visit. I hadn't had my nails done in 4+ weeks (my nail growth confirmed that), so there's no way I used it myself. The staff didn't seem to believe me and wouldn't accept the gift card. When it came time to pay, I was asked to send payment through Zelle and wasn't allowed to leave until I did. It felt less like a misunderstanding and more like I was being treated as if I was trying to scam them...when really, I feel like I'm the one who was let down by a gift card system that didn't work as promised. I'm disappointed because I liked coming here, but I won't be returning after this experience. Update: After posting this review, the new owner reached out, found my gift card, and refunded the $70. I appreciate that they made it right. That said, I'm leaving this review because of how the situation was handled in the moment...I wasn't believed when I explained the gift card wasn't used by me, and I was asked to wait while a Zelle payment went through before I could go, which felt uncomfortable given the circumstances. Very disappointed with my experience. I requested a dip powder manicure, but a gel layer and gel top coat was applied and I'm still not sure why. The shaping was uneven and poorly executed, and the finish began wrinkling and shifting the same afternoon because the layer under the top coat wasn't cured. The quality was so poor that I had to visit another nail salon today to have the manicure corrected. A professional manicure should last more than a few hours and certainly shouldn't require paying another salon to fix it. read more

I went to the UPS store today and saw a new nail salon. I have not been happy with the salon I was going to so I made an appointment for a pedicure. I was pleasantly surprised at what a great experience I had. I used to go to another place in Benicia and paid a lot for a gel pedi that was just ok. At Picasso I got a wonderful pedi with hot stone massage, a foot massage, warm wax treatment and a scrub. Also, my toes look gorgeous and I paid half of what I paid at the other salon. Henry is so nice to everyone, offering beverages and making sure every customer is happy with their services. My manicurist name is Kathy and she gives a great foot massage, I almost fell asleep. It was the roughest and most minimal manicure-pedicure I have ever received in 50 years. There was almost NO service other than washing feet and soaking hands. No critical trim, no cleaning under nails, and hardly 5 seconds spent of filling my nails, and the filling took my nails down to the quick. NO care was given. The polish was applied so fast I couldn't tell if anything had been done at all. The man who provided this poor excuse for a service was so rough that I had to pull away many times. Although I asked for gentleness he never changed his delivery. Other than the lovely environment no other favorable reviews can be given! FOR this, I was charged $80 before tip. I normally don't write reviews, but I'm disappointed with my recent visit. The technician didn't properly smooth and even out the nails from the nail beds, leaving them thick near the base. This can cause them to snag as they grow, and I could also see a dark line around the nail bed because it wasn't cleaned properly. When I mentioned it, the staff member became defensive and kept saying, "How would you know your nails haven't grown yet?" But I can tell -- the product was left thick near the nail bed and that area wasn't properly finished. I've been getting my nails done for 7 years, so I know the difference. I initially let it go, but after paying and leaving a tip, it continued to bother me. I called the salon right afterward, and they didn't answer. That felt very unprofessional. We love our small businesses so I hesitate to post but do want to let people know that appointments don't necessarily mean anything at this salon. Today was my second of two set appointments that was not met. Both times were a half hour wait past my appointment time. The first time, I didn't even get the person I scheduled with. Today, they took a walk-in before me. I guess I got the person I was scheduled with but I wish I hadn't. They took me immediately after the run-long appointment and the station was gritty and dirty. The 'clean' towel didn't even feel great. Then, I asked for something really simple, and I'll just say that I'm super sad right now. Not only that, but I was told twice 'you're done' before the paint had barely dried. No hand massage or lotion. I don't even know. Then, expecting maybe a discount for the 30 min wait past my appointment - and apparent rush job - thought I may get a discount, but no. I'm so sorry. I wanted so much to be happy here. But I tried twice and I won't be back. read more

I decided to stop by Picasso Nails on a whim on 11/20/24, despite their low rating--big mistake. From start to finish, this was one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. Let's start with the pedicure. I chose their $60 pedicure with an extra $10+ for gel polish, expecting at least a basic level of care. The woman who began my pedicure was incredibly rough, cutting my cuticles carelessly and scraping the side of my foot with the callus remover to the point it was painful. I repeatedly had to ask if the gel curing light was even on because it didn't feel warm, but the tech would just smile without actually answering. Not exactly reassuring. And sure enough, by 11/21/24--less than 24 hours later--there was already a chunk of gel polish missing from the center of both big toes. I hadn't done anything strenuous other than exist and walk for a few minutes here and there. Isn't gel polish supposed to be durable? That's the whole reason for the additional cost! This just proved that the light wasn't on or the curing process wasn't done properly. Then, as if the pedicure wasn't bad enough, another tech started my manicure while I was still in the pedicure chair. A personal pet peeve of mine--I pay for a relaxing service, not some rushed two-in-one chaos. When I asked her to maintain my natural nail shape and to try to fix one broken nail to match the others, she seemed to understand at first. But the entire process was awkward, with her twisting and turning my arm uncomfortably across my chest so I couldn't even see what was happening. Finally, when I got a glimpse of my nails, I was mortified. They were completely butchered--nowhere close to my natural shape. When she asked if I liked them, I said no and reminded her of what I'd requested. She seemed confused but tried to "fix" them, and somehow made them worse. Then she admitted she didn't understand what I wanted in the first place. At that point, I did something I've never done before--I asked her to stop the service entirely. That's when things went from bad to worse. She stood up, threw her towel on the ground, and loudly yelled, "SHE DON'T WANT MANICURE!" for the entire salon to hear. Everyone stared at me, and I was beyond embarrassed. Between the rough, careless pedicure, the uncomfortable and disastrous manicure, the unprofessional behavior, and the fact that their gel polish didn't even last a day, I regret every penny I spent here. I should have trusted the reviews. Don't make the same mistake. Save your money and your dignity--go elsewhere. read more
