Went into this nail shop because they open late. I asked for shellac only halographic and I asked how long does it last. The man doing my nails said 3 weeks. I've had other people do shellac on me and it's lasted at least 2 weeks. When I asked for the price I didn't think it was going to be more than $30. I ended up paying $40 which was pretty pricey just for shellac. Anyways I really liked it so I said ok. The next day the color powder was coming off. It's been 5 days and it's pretty bad. I def don't think it was worth it at all. I don't have the time to go back to get it fixed I just know I won't be going back. read more

Third time coming. Thought I'd found my new nail salon since moving to Houston from LA, but sadly I was wrong. First, the girl that does the pedicures with the great lashes and tattoos, she's AMAZING. I may come only for pedis with her. She's great. She's the reason I've come back three times. I've only received refills on my nails and it's been an ok experience. Not great but not horrible. I needed a full set and pI figured it'd be fine. Nope...I was wrong. I believe it was David that did my full set. He was a novice. From my shape being wrong to my nails being bumpy. I had to remind him to file one hand down AND remind him which hand had already been under the UV light. It was a terrible nail experience. It sucks because this is a new set and I can't just take them off. I will say they've got customer service down to a science, but that doesn't carry much weight if I hate my nails. The nail technicians at Picasso are awesome! I got a classic pedicure, and my manicurist did a great job and made sure each nail was perfect. She was also very friendly and made me feel comfortable. For my nails, she convinced me to try shellac for the first time and I'm so glad she did! My nails look amazing and have not chipped or smudged at all. I came in with a small group but only 2 out of the 3 of us had made appointments. Even so, they were super accommodating and made sure we all sat near each other. My friend was a bride-to-be getting her nails done for her wedding, and they treated her to an upgrade and took great care of her. I had my nails refilled here and the work was fast and fine. I was not super impressed with the quality (the sides of my gel are peeling on day 4) but the price was reasonable and fine for a quick fill. HOWEVER, I asked them to clean up my brows and they thinned them by half! Half! I hate thin brows and now I have 90's Pop Star brows. What's worse is that she thinned the bottom half the most and the top of my brows are patchy. So now I CANNOT go without filling them in even when I want to wear minimal make up. Where I am pointing in the picture you can see how patchy the brow is and they is with two types of brow filler. Pomade and pencils. Without them I have nearly a bald spot. This picture is very close up so the brow looks bigger and thicker than it is when you can see the full face and again this is with lots of make up. Horrible nails. Super thick the first time I went back for them to fix them and they complained. I even tipped so they wouldn't have to fix them for free. After her explaining to me that they couldn't be fixed, she magically fixed them and they looked wayyyyyy better. Moving forward I thought if take my chances again, I got someone who previously did my nails bomb, I asked for him and he said he had a appointment but pawned me off to some other girl. I asked for white tips which were horrible she then tried to cover them with pink shellac. Which melted horribly. They're lumpy and ridiculous! The owner, Jennifer, came from Q Designer Nails (Fountainview and Westheimer). She is fantastic! I am just getting acquainted with her nail techs but my pedicure looks awesome. For ladies who are used to acrylic, they've moved on up in technology. It's called gel builder. They're one of the only Nail salons that offers this. Lastly, my daughter really wanted faux nails, but instead of doing acrylic or gel, we went next door to the beauty supply and bought the little girls stick on nails. Jennifer took extra care to apply them for her to make them last at least 6 days vs a few hours. Pricing is moderate but if for any reason you aren't happy, just tell them!! I came across Picasso Nails after having lunch at Fadi's. Well...I am so happy I walked in!! Picasso Nails is the best nail salon that I have visited in Houston by far!! Here is why: - This is the cleanest nail salon I have seen - from the floors to the pedicure chairs - everything looks pristine. - They sanitize their tools and show you the sealed packet (they use a separate one for manicures and one for pedicures) - The pedicure chairs have tablets and you can enjoy watching Netflix movies or shows while getting your one hour pedicure! - They use separate towels for your hands & feet. - Everyone at the salon was so warm and welcoming - starting with Ken, Jennifer and Teresa. - Ken will even educate you on the common "dirty little secrets" of nail salons...for me this was extremely eye opening! So I'm on westheimer and I need a nail shop and decide to pop in to see how well the service is.... I must say.. I'm n love!! Ken and Jennifer were sooooo nice and very friendly to all clientele. Friendly staff and clean nail salon. It was my first time doing my nails in the states since I usually just do them when I'm in Mexico, and it was a good experience. I'm not sure who did my nails but she was nice and very weary when trying to get my nails in coffin shape. I love my nails and I will be going back! Maybe next time I will also get a pedi. Honestly, I hated every minute at this salon. I came here to get a simple French tip full set. I don't know their names because they didn't tell me.. but first technician (pretty rude) kept gluing the tips on crooked. I would tell her nicely that they're crooked and she would argue with me. Never agreed, never apologized.. just kept trying to convince me that they were straight. She eventually gave up on me and without saying anything to me, she told another technician to take over my set. This lady was a lot more tolerable, I guess, she just stayed quiet basically. She did also glue a couple crooked, but she would redo it without arguing with me. But unfortunately, the set that she put on me was just crap. It was thick, started lifting the same night, uneven... I cannot say how impressed I was with Picasso Nails! The staff was so polite and professional. It's the CLEANEST nail salon I have ever been to which is incredibly important to me. The owner takes the time to educate you about the products being used and helps you understand what to look for in a nail salon. After searching forever for a nail salon close to home and with exceptional cleaniness, my search is FINALLY over!!! After reading some of the reviews of Picasso Nails on Yelp, I decided to come here and check this place out for myself. I was definitely amazed with the cleanliness, quality, and service of this place. I am a very picky customer especially when it comes to the cleanliness and proper sterilization of the tools used and this place far beyond exceeds my expectations!! Ken the Owner and his Staff were so pleasant and welcoming. The level of care and concern they have for their establishment and customers is beyond amazing and outstanding. After I told them what treatments I wanted, they did not hassle me at all afterwards to purchase any additional services or upgrades. I find this quite annoying as many other nail salons will continously ask you throughout your treatment to add extras or additionals to your treatment. It feels quite pressuresome and takes away from the relaxation of your pampering, when they are constantly trying to upsell extra services to you. Ken and his staff were very professional and made sure my visit was very relaxing and pampering. My Manicure and Pedicure were so well done, that both lasted for weeks after my visit! I really wanted to like this place. I decided to stop in on my way home and get my nails done instead of sit in traffic. Called ahead and they say they said they could get me in in 10 minutes. Perfect. When I arrived it was obvious that they were short staffed. There were three other customers waiting for their pedicures to start. I didn't want to go and sit in traffic again I stayed otherwise I would've left. Tommy did a great job with my pedicure. He was gentle when he needed to be, and firm when it was necessary. The manicure seemed quite rushed and I noticed that the gal missed spots and it didn't do a good job trimming. I give this place three stars simply because I really liked the people. She told me that one gal didn't show up, which is why they were running behind. I understand that completely, however they continued to promise me and other clients that they could get us in when clearly they were not going to be able to handle the client load with being down a person.
