I'm really conflicted about this review, fellow Yelpers. Maybe a 3.5 would be more fair. On Saturday, November 14, I had an appointment for a blowout - that's it. A wash, a dry. No more, no less. Now, I have long hair, but apparently i was in for a different appointment -- and they made that clear. First, when I made my appointment, I was never told with whom; then, when I got there, the woman never introduced herself. So, all I know is that she owns the place. As far as services, the washing of my hair hurt, lots of pulling. My wash/dry took less than an hour but the woman working on my hair kept stopping to talk to people. Yikes. I was also told over and over again that my hair was dry (no it's not) and that it's spotted. SPOTTED. WHAT? No, it's not. Oh - I wash my hair too much too. Cool, thanks. This isn't terribly constructive. The lady was nice enough, I guess, aside from what I wrote above about the hair criticism. The blow out was okay, BUT FORTY DOLLARS. $40!!!! Uh, okay. I wasn't asked what side I part my hair and when I mentioned it was on the wrong side, no change. The amount of product in my hair makes me want to wash it - 20 minutes after I left. It feels gross and is weighed down. No volume. Not gonna lie, you guys. I'm pretty upset. If you're going to berate my hair please do a good job. Please don't tell me that your product won't weigh my hair down when I comment on how much you're putting in it. Please don't tell me this blow out will last 7 days because I'm already dying to wash my hair. PLEASE don't charge e $40 for a service that should cost $30. read more

I came here with a groupon. The stylist/owner really wanted to make sure my hair would look amazing and talked me out of highlights and go for a big change. She took the time to look at my hair and explain how it would transform my look for the better. I took her advice and went darker than the highlights. She still honored my groupon and didn't charge me more. I was pretty nervous to dye my roots darker but I really liked how it turned out. I'm glad I took her advice and that she took care of my hair. The only issue I had was that it took a lot longer than I scheduled for. I definitely will return read more

I am wondering where these people went for their service. I'm so upset about my lash service that I went to bed the minute I got home. Where to begin! The "owner" sweet talks a lot. Lady, Please don't tell the client they look beautiful because that is subjective ask the client how she feels. How I felt was way more important than how I looked. She is not a good listener, not an expert and not a good consultant. She does not ask questions about what u expect the end product to look like and don't give u options. She offered to resolve my issue but at that time the damage was done and pretty much unfixable. She charged $90 for a $30 service I can get at a mall salon. Her technique was really really bad. Here is the deal..... Do not get your lash extensions here. She glued rows of clusters when I wanted individual. My eyes were stinging and runny from the glue but she kept on gluing. My lid was so heavy that I could see my lashes hanging down. It was a horrible feeling . Went to another salon to see if they can recommend a way to get them off. They took one look and say she glue the lashes too much on my waterline. That's why they were in my vision. You're not suppose to just see ur lashes hanging down. I utubed how to remove them and they recommended olive oil/ coconut oil and steaming your face to loosen them. Do not tug or pull. read more

I have been going to Picasso for 4-5 years now and I won't go anywhere else for my hair! The owner, Robin, is a professional & talented lady. She always makes me feel special & spoiled when I go in. I have always been more pleased with my hair results and we try something different each time I go with color & cut! I have also seen Melissa a couple times and she she a sweetheart and also very talented! I can't wait for my next trip there...we have something special planned! This is definitely a "day spa", it has everything you every want to pamper yourself from salon, nails, massages, face services and probably more that I missed. The staff are very nice and helpful. I love that there is a salon that I LOVE near my house. I live in the BOONIES so finding that combination is truly great. Robin Harooni is the owner and my friend. Since I moved here from Austin TX (the coolest city in Texas, amen), it has been a total transition for finding a new doctor, grocery store, dry cleaner, etc. and finding someone that I like to do my hair was such a relief. They do hair cuts and color, of course, but they also have mani/pedis, facials, massage, endermologie, and now they have laser hair removal. I discovered the salon through groupon. I called about the offer, I was told not to purchase the groupon and that they would honor it but there may be additional charges. The girl who did my hair guilted me into tipping more than she deserved. She went on about groupon people not tipping enough and not making money on groupons.Tips should be based on my satisfaction however after that talk I felt I needed to give her a good tip. I asked for my dead ends cut and long layers, the girl barely even cut my hair. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and she seemed confident. She said my hair was lifting well and would only tone it if necessary. I feel she probably should've toned my hair but none the less my hair appeared to look okay. I wanted a caramel blonde ombré and the color wasn't what I wanted but didn't look awful, that was until I saw it in natural light it was so dark and barely different. I only saw my hair from the front, she never got a mirror and showed me the back of my head. I left and tipped her thinking it wasn't perfect but not the worse. That was until I got outside and asked my boyfriend to take a picture of the back so I could see what it looked like. It looked darker in the back and there was a huge light patch. How could she let me leave with my hair like that ???? Over all the experience was not awful but I am very unhappy with my hair and will not be returning. read more

The woman who runs it, Robbin, DESTROYED, my hair and refused to give me a refund and simply hangs up when I call. Just moved to the area, expecting my first child and wanted to get my hair done and eyebrows waxed before I can't anymore. Bought a groupon for a cut and color to try out a local salon. This one happens to be close to my home. My stylist told me that my groupon which says 45$ for a cut and color was actually not for a cut and color and it would be a small additional charge. I said ok. My stylist was very friendly but did not blow dry my hair completely. The cut was ok, asked for my layers to be refreshed and she just kind of chopped away at random. The color is actually very red not brown at all like I had asked. I also mentioned wanting an eyebrow wax and was offered one. The girl that did my eyebrows kept saying she was specialized in threading and I received the worst eye brow wax I have ever had. She only did the underside of my eyebrows and a small trim, did not even touch the top of them. I have been to many places and this is not normal practice. At the end I went to pay and my total was 60$. I asked what a eyebrow wax cost and was told 15$ so that leaves an additional 45$ on top of my 45$ groupon. I asked what a normal cut and color cost and was told 90$. So they suckered me in to the salon with a "groupon" and gave me absolutely NO discount. This is completely dishonest and rude. I am not one to complain and what is done is done, but I will not be returning to this salon. read more

I hate going to the salon. I hate sitting in the chair for hours. I hate how the stylist criticizes my hair and tries to sell me everything in the store. I almost didn't go. THAT BEING SAID, wow... Everyone was very friendly! The pedicure was not worth the money. They did not scrub your feet, do not have spa chairs, no jets in the water and it was cold by the end. The girl that did my friends pedicure did a poor job where the color did not even cover the entire nail and her nails were not cut down, even though she expressed that she wanted them cut. I prefer to go to a regular nail salon. I emailed my thoughts on my experience, which I have never done and did not even get a response email. read more

My rating is a ZERO! I purchased a groupon for $35 a cut, color and style. A $90 value. Before purchasing I called to check that they accepted it and that the service was a cut color and style. The girl on the phone was polite and said they did. When I arrived for my appointment I had waited a half hour after to even be seen. I was than told it was just for a root touch up. I explained it was not stated on groupon as such and I wanted the service I paid for. I was told if i wanted the all over color I was to pay an additional $50 dollars. The girl than proceeded to put the color in my hair never once wearing gloves. When asked about gloves she smirked and said "I'm brown it doesn't matter". While getting my hair done the owner spoke with another client about me five feet away from me. Stating i wasn't happy with a groupon purchase and how groupon caters to the client and she as a owner didn't appreciate it. She also laughed and made fun of the fact that i was a 26 year old with very bad gray hair. I was humiliated! The stylist attempted to blend the color down knowing I wasn't happy. Once finished the top of my head was red and the rest of my hair is brown and black. There is red dye all over my forehead and neck. When I went to check out the owner wanted to charge me the additional money since the Stylist put the color through the hair. The stylist came over and explained it was the same amount of dye she just rubbed it through. As they proceeded to bicker in front of me I tried explaining how unhappy I was but was not being listened to. I attempted to call back this afternoon and talk with the owner Robin Harooni. I said i was not given the service i paid for and very disappointed with the service i was given, I was humiliated and disrespected through the appointment. She made no attempt to rectify the situation but instead laughed at me while saying "you must not have good boyfriend or personal life to not like it now" "you like it last night" she kept saying when I would try to say the service was bad and not what i paid for! I have only had my hair colored and cut at Picasso's Haven't tried other services as yet. But let me just say Robin is awesome!. I've Gone to her several times and I recommend her to my family and friends. The salon isn't fancy but if your looking for a fabulous cut and color this is the place to go and Robin is who to ask for. read more

I used a Groupon for a trim and liked how the stylist/owner was helpful in giving tips on how to take care of my dry hair. However I cannot get past the cleanliness or lack thereof. She did not clean up the hair from the client right before me so I was basically sitting in someone else's cut hair. The worst was using supplies that had been sitting on the table, not cleaned in between clients. She even made a joke about me being the last client of the day so the brush was full of hair. I have been praying ever since I don't end up with lice! read more

This salon is wonderful. I love coming here. The place is beautiful and all the staff are attentive, warm and Friendly. Robin has been cutting my hair for almost 2 years now and my hair has never looked better. I have been able to grow it longer than I ever have. I was in late last Friday night to get my hair recolored by the awesome stylist (Erin) to whom I'm loyal, and who first brought me there. The first time I went, a couple of months ago, it seemed alright, although the service felt a little rushed. This past Friday, however, was awful. First, there was no heat! Even with my thermal on (thank goodness I had one in the car!), I was still freezing! Erin did a great job with my color, as far as placement goes, but the product available at the salon didn't take, so my color came out very faded and practically non-existent. To make matters worse, when I called Erin to find out when she'd be available to fix the problem, I found out that she's no longer at the salon! I don't want somebody else working on my hair, and now I have to go try to get my money back! I really hope Robin, the owner, is more willing to cough up the money she owes me than she was willing to pay her employees!! I'd only recommend this place if you like getting your hair done with substandard product in the cold. read more

I am very surprised to see 4 stars on yelp for Picasso. I went to this salon about 4 times; the first experience was ok; cut and overall hair color (although I had asked for subtle highlights with the overall color) about a week later I returned for the highlights because the color was somewhat dull; I left with bulky, clumpy streaks of blonde, and somehow, some reddish streaks, on top of the very dark brown. It looked like an oddly colored tiger. I returned again, to have the color fixed (3rd trip) - the other stylist attempted to correct it; I will say it looked a bit better. 2 weeks later, the color faded and it looked washed out and horrible. This was after using the $40 bottles of shampoo and conditioner they sold me ($80) for both. I elected to go to another salon near Norristown, had it fixed for another $150.00 and never returned to Picasso. Sadly my daughter scheduled an appointment, went to have her hair have an overall color of Dark-ash blonde, she bleached her entire head, and put a color on that resembles, hair on California Barbie from 1997; It wasn't similar to anything she asked for. Additionally, the dry cut on my daughters thick straight hair was not ideal. My daughter called back to the salon the next day, to express her disappointment after spending $200; asked for her money back, and the owner said she 'd call back; she never did, so my daughter called again- asked again, and the owner hung up on her. This is not the salon for color service, or if you are not comfortable having your hair cut dry; that's not the best option for every hair type. My suggestion, avoid- travel out of Pottstown area if you must- but avoid this salon. read more

I recently moved to the area so I have been trying to find a new hair salon that I love and can trust. If you're also looking for the same,LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. I called to see if I could possibly get an appointment and was told nothing was available for that day but I could come in the next day, no big deal, I told the woman I'd have to let them know because I really didn't have time the next day. A half hour later the salon owner called me back and told me that there had been a cancellation and I could come in that night. Great! So I went to the appointment. When I arrived at the salon there was one customer waiting, and another customer walked in right after me. About ten minutes later a stylist walked through the door to help both of those customers. She was about a half hour late for the one woman's appointment...ok, no big deal they didn't seem to mind, she took both customers back to do their hair color at the same time. Finally the stylist/owner finished up with her client and was ready to do my hair. About 30-40 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I explained to the stylist that I wanted my hair cut to fall at my shoulders. She then started cutting my hair without washing it or even spraying it with water. I have never in my life had my hair cut this way, but she told me it was because of my hair type, I have wavy hair, that I straighten on occasion. Immediately as she started cutting I noticed my cut was going starting out above my shoulders, but I figured it wasn't too much shorter, it should be ok. As all this was occurring a girl was there to meet the owner about starting as their zumba instructor in a few days. The owner instructed this girl to wash my hair after the hair cut was finished. All of the sudden the other stylist who was doing two women's colors at once noticed that she had put the red headed customers color in the blond customers hair. HOW DO YOU MIX UP COLORS??? I don't know if it was all the distractions or what but my hair ended up almost chin length and very puffy, I have thick hair so short hair on me looks bad, like I have a huge puff ball on my head. At the end of the appointment my hair looked horrible, the owner even had the audacity to tell me it wasn't that short, and it didn't look that bad. My hair is now to my chin, when I asked for the cut to be to my shoulders, almost a 4 inch difference in length. Also because it was cut dry, the wavy parts of my hair were longer than the rest of my hair, so it was lopsided on one side, with strands here and there longer than the rest. I had to try to even it out myself. I felt like they didn't have a cancellation, they just tried to jam another appointment in for the day when there wasn't time. The stylist was lazy, not wanting to wash my hair and making her zumba instructor do it. This place was unprofessional, obviously appointments/time doesn't mean anything to them. I had a couple nice experiences there and some haircuts that were good too. Most of the time I had to wait a half hour to an hour occaionally, after the appt time to be seen. Although, the haircuts were a bit more thinning than I liked. Unfortunately, after the last haircut I received there, a week had gone by and my head started itching. So I looked and I found head lice. Then I treated. Ten days later treated again. A couple more weeks went by and I treated again and again in ten days. And couple more weeks went by and I treated again and again in ten days!!!! And just to clarify, I am a fairly clean person and I followed the treatment regimes as directed! So I finally had to go to the doctor where the issued me a pill to kill the resistant and indestructible head lice. I don't know if it is still there but this is the worst case of lice I have ever experienced. I hope they have rectified the problem for the both businesses and the customers sake. read more
