Shoulda listened to the Yelp reviews. Saw a ton of 1 and 2 star reviews for this place but it was close to where we were doing some car maintenance today, so I gave Picasso the benefit of the doubt. I called ahead and they said they were free for a pedicure. Drove in and found that the salon is in a busy shopping center with Blue Nami, etc. There was plenty of parking on a Friday afternoon but it definitely gets busier on Friday evenings and weekends. Greeter was nice. Picked my color and sat down. Had I scoped out the place before deciding to get my nails done, I probably wouldn't have stayed. It looked dated, unclean, and all the workers looked like they hated being there. The workers (about 5 of them) talked nonstop in Vietnamese to each other, hardly ever talking to the customers other than "What kind pedicure you want?" I understand that it's their native language but I knew from listening to their phone conversations that they COULD speak English but chose not to do so. Instead they just talked in Vietnamese, looked at customers and laughed. Most nail salons I've been to try to keep the conversations with each other to a minimum. Not here. Apparently they've never been told that talking in your native language in a professional setting when you have customers is rude and unprofessional. I spent the entire time reading the negative Yelp reviews and understanding why. The girl who worked on my feet had a horrible cold that would cause her to sneeze, sniffle, cough, and wipe her nose with her arm. I felt bad for her because I know how hard it is to be at work when you're sick. Glad she was working on my toes rather than being anywhere close to my face or hands. She put a towel on my lap and the first thing I noticed was the nail polish already on the towel. Gross. At least use clean towels!! One girl was working on a customer's nails and all of a sudden, we heard glass shattering. Apparently she had dropped the bowl full of some kind of liquid all over the ground. It was jolting and she just left it there. No apologies, no quickly getting up to clean it. Just left it there like nothing ever happened. $25 for a classic pedicure seems pricey. I'm used to $18-20 for a pedicure and then maybe a few extra dollars for any designs. This time I figured $25 was steep enough and after seeing how sloppy she was with the nail polish, I figured no design this time. 2 stars because she was polite and gave a good foot and leg massage. But definitely not a place I'd ever come back to again. There are so many great nail salons in the area. Not sure why anyone would come to this one by choice. read more

The salon is a bit rundown and the ladies are not exceptionally friendly but it's across the street from my work so as long as they do a good job, I'm fine with that. I paid $72 (not including tip) for a mini pedicure and mini manicure with gel polish on both. This was my first time. I knew from others recommendations that gel polish should last about 3 weeks. I asked the lady who was doing my nails and she claimed the gel polish would last 2 months... I was happy with my pedicure. She took her time and and my toes looked great when I walked out and still look great about 2 weeks later. When she started on my manicure (approx. 5:45, they close at 7), she seemed to start rushing. My fingernails were uneven and the gel polish did not go all the way to the edges which I assume is why they are lifting, chipping, and peeling less than a week later (pic included) I will not return. read more

As a previous regular customer (which I would come here every other week for a year), I loved this place, the atmosphere made it feel like a real family owned business, until the last few times I've been here which gave me a bad taste in my mouth each time I came after. I would think customer service should be top notch if a customer comes in very frequently but that wasn't the case. They never remember me, and always make me wait even when I make appointments, if I want to pay with cash I shouldn't have to be charged $1.25, and It's just plain uncomfortable to be there. Took my two friends here for one of their birthdays. The ladies kept laughing and glaring and snarling. It made us uncomfortable. One of the ladies was very rough. One lady also cut my friends nails very short then missed spots when painting them. When my friend mentioned the spots where there was paint missing, the lady blamed the shape of my friends nails (the nail lady just shaped her nails so it would have been her fault, not my friends fault). They kept making us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Not a place to go to when you want to relax and feel good. Plus the lady left paint all over my toes. See attached pictures for detail. We also were asked if we wanted gel. We all answered no thank you. They mentioned that our nails will chip within 5 days. We said ok. Then they mentioned it at least 3 more times that our normal nails will chip more since we decided not to get gel. Like I know what gel is and I don't want it. I came in for a pedicure and Cindy did the job. It was mediocre at best. Barely felt the massage. I purchased.the deluxe. I asked for gel clear coat on top of my French polish. Cindy said it would be $22. I thought I misheard. I asked.her if that was $22 extra?! She said yes extra. I shook my head no and said.that's OK. Too expensive. When I went to pay she told me that my pedicure was $54. I pointed out that the deluxe is only.$32. She said the gel clear coat was extra. She misunderstood me. I told her that I said it was okay I didn't need gel because they charge too much and I can add a gel topcoat at home. She insisted I pay the $54. I paid her but will never come here.again. $22 for a gel topcoat is insane. This isn't an upscale ritzy place. I.am a pedicure enthusiast and nowhere has ever charged me $22 for a gel top coat anywhere else in California. All places I have been charged $5 or.$7. The right thing to do was own up to your mistake of misunderstanding and not charge me.. Like an idiot I tipped her $5 because it wanted her to realize I am tipping.her despite her mistake and costing me $22 wasted dollars so hopefully she feels some sort of remorse. I was about to make a scene and thought nope. I will Yelp this. She should.learn to speak better.Engliah and understand it better too. She IS in the.retail service industry in California!!!!! Honestly what would two coats of gel cost the salon if they owned up to their mistake? Milipennies?????? I would have gladly paid if I said Yes I want it. But I.said " no, that's ok." I love this nail salon! They do the best nails in Roseville hands down! Lani can do practically any design you want. Even if you aren't sure what you want she gives you great creative ideas. When I moved to Rocklin I tried numerous nail salons and I never found one that I loved the service, work, and customer service until I came to Picasso Nails! I used to go to a different salon in Lincoln, CA. I wanted to try somewhere new because I was not satisfied with my current salon. I found Picasso on yelp, which had good reviews so I thought I'd check it out. Turns out it was the best decision I ever made. I love this salon. The staff is always wonderful to work with and they all speak English-- It's a huge relief because they actually understand what you ask for! You won't find many nail salons where every staff member speaks English. Lani-the owner of the salon is wonderful. I can't tell you how many times she stays after hours to help me out (because I work late.) She always goes out of her way to make sure that every person that enters her salon is happy. I have had a few other people there as well (before I found Lani,) and I enjoy every employee. It actually feels like the employees enjoy being there and enjoy their job. To make a long review short-I definitely recommend this salon to everyone. They just opened one in Sacramento, CA as well. I have not been to that salon yet but since it is ran by Lani also then I would imagine it's just as great! read more

I was in the area with spare time so I figured I'd try this place. I'm not super picky with my nails but I really love them! I got acrylic with gel polish. The shop may not have the newest stuff but it's still a good place! The girl that did my nails was fast but still did amazing! I didn't get her name unfortunately. My coworkers and I decided to check out this place after reading all the good reviews but our experience was anything but. The 3 of us went after work, a few minutes before closing time. 2 of us ended up getting a manicure and it seemed like the staff was in a rush to go home. In less than 10 minutes they were done and the results showed. The nail polish was bumpy and peeling after 2 days. I got a polish change and it started peeling at the edges after 2 days too. So I have been looking for a place to get a good pedicure done for a while. Not wanting to go to a place where I pay $30 and they hardly do anything. I had been looking on Yelp! Scouring for great reviews and awesome prices when I found this place. Called at 10:30 to make an appointment, cause it's the nice thing to do, and asked what their prices were and if they had any availability for this afternoon, (to me that means suggest a time and I'll be there), but whatever, I said noon, he made the appointment for then, and off I went. I arrived 10 minutes early, was nicely greeted by the buy at the desk and offered a bottle of water and then they had me sit in a nice comfy chair while Judy started her magic work on my tired toes. Started off with the usual buffing and filing, and because I chose the deluxe option since it's been a while since I had any papmering doen to my feet, it came with a scrub, then a mint masque. Following that was the parafin wax treatment and a lovely lower leg massage. The parafin left my feet so super soft! (Being a massage therapist myself, I thought it was pretty nice for someone who only does hands and toes, I might steal some of her moves.) After that, Judy wiped down my legs with a hot towel, oh so yummy, and then did a bottom coat, 2 coats of polish, and a top coat before helping me get my sandals on and out the door. All this and only for $39! Yay! The entire staff seemed very friendly. Not only was Judy willing to chat with me a bit, but not once did you hear them speaking anything other than english. Be forewarned tho, should you chat with your pedicurist, there is a chance they'll slack off a bit, and one foot will get better buffed than the other. All the clients I saw left happy, even the guy in the chair next to me was having a good time. I'll definately be back. read more

This place is horrific! I'm going to post pictures showing their terrible work! I was so blown away at how obviously crooked and uneven my nails were. They looked at them like nothing was wrong. I was speechless! The 1st girl glued on the nails and cut them crooked lol and then switched with the other lady. They kept pushing gel nail polish on me. 1st off why would I spend more money on a better nail polish when my nails are disgusting. Makes no sense. Anyways I would not recommend this place. Vivian did a wonderful job! She took her time which is what I look for at a salon (I can't stand when I'm rushed through and don't get to enjoy being pampered). Vivian also moved me to the chair and offered water right away rather than having me wait on the bench. The salon is located in a little shopping center that offers a one-stop pampering center. There are restaurants, coffee/tea house, dessert place, massage envy, and Picasso Nails. I love spending the afternoon sauntering from one relaxing spot to the next. Our tummies were full from sushi lunch prior @ Blue Nami and we were ready for a little pampering. This is a great area.. many amenities to partake in (massage, coffee, restaurants...) ++ Upon arriving, greeted with a smile and were quickly seated for a luxurious hour and a half ++ The team all works well together, very personal and pretty frickin funny... I was insulted (ok questioned) on my nail painting skills (which are terrible n so true) and we all laughed and the fun and pampering continued. I was looking for a new local acrylic nail place. I was aware of where Picasso was, but never went in. Lani was able to take a same day appontment. The salon was clean and well kept, the staff was friendly, and I can honestly say they go above and beyond for their customers. The day I was there, Lani had made accomodations for two girls and their birthdays, as planned out by one of their boyfriends in advance. I came in looking for a new, regular nail spot. I had free from acryliccs on from another place that I could not stand. Lani took one look at them and vowed to give me new pretty ones... I was absolutely in love with her work! I had recently visited Picasso Nails and Spa with my Spouse on February 18, 2018. We both received horrible service to say the least. The person working on my spouse's feet, did such a poor job that it looked like a child had done the pedicure and she had to get them redone elsewhere. The person that I had the unfortunate experience with cut my nails to short to the point where it causes pain Along the the uneven filing she filed the top of the nails for no reason, put a gouge in the top of my nail with a file and didn't remove any of the dead skin, all while apathetically hurrying the process. The person who was working on my spouse was inappropriate and unprofessional with comments on the fact that I am a man and most men don't even go into a place like said establishment. The next day I called to request a refund and was told to call the next day on account that there was no manager present that day. The next day (Tuesday) I called back and spoke with an individual who told me that they were the manager. In a calm and mild manner tone, I told her about my experience and that I would like to get a refund. She proceeded to compare it to a massage and said, " if you got a massage and didn't like it, do you think that the massage place would give you a refund?" to which I replied, " If the Masseuse intentionally did a poor job and hurt you in the process then yes, they would." Logically defeated, the manager proceed to defensibly revert back to my denial of a refund on the basis of services already being rendered. I will never go to this business again and do not recommend anyone else to do. read more

Also there was so many walk ins and only three girls she didn't start her nails til 4:30!!!! When she started her nails she asked what shape she said Thin, skinny, and squared off. I have been loyally going to Picasso for 4 years. You can find cheaper manicures and pedicures elsewhere if you want to sacrifice cleanliness, quality relaxed ambiance and customer service. They have wonderful ambiance and a welcoming staff. Nina and her family are accommodating and professional. I have a crazy schedule and rarely am able to make an appointment more than a few hours ahead of time and often for multiple services. They always fit me in, always. They have a private room for waxing and I have never gotten a skin rash after getting waxed there as I have from other places. They carry the latest products (Shellac) and have a very comfortable environment. I won't go anywhere else, they have earned my loyalty. read more

Hands down Picasso goes above and beyond in customer service. Nina (the owner) makes a point to great each and every person that walks in the door. She also goes out of her way to know you name. Everyone that works there is amazingly friendly... but I just am almost blown away at just how driven they are at really making that extra effort to really be personable. It makes you feel that your business matters to them. They do a wonderful job on both manis and pedis. They offer shellac (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE) and at a great price! I am now a regular with a girl friend of mine. We make a point to schedule our appointments at the same time. Pros: I didn't have an appt but was seated right away, the lady at the front and the one that did my pedicure were friendly and offered me something to drink Cons: The biggest issue I had was the fact that they didn't use newly packaged tools and didn't sanitize the massage chairs after each use. I saw them wash the tools in the sink...ummm gross. The lady massaged my leg so damn hard it might be bruised by tomorrow! Everything is HOT. The water, the towels...but they are accommodating and were willing to fix it...but it seemed like a recurring theme, every single person that sat down near me complained of the water being too hot. There was also a miscommunication with the price of my pedicure. I wanted a classic which costs $25, but when they rang me up they said $39!! Turns out the "diamonds" they put on my big toes costs $7 and she actually did the deluxe pedicure. Ok whatever the miscommunication about the type of pedicure may be my fault too but she should have at least told me how much the diamonds were...plus to pay $39 for a massage that will probably make my legs black and blue tomorrow and for a design that is really not that amazing? Not worth it. Will I come back? Still not sure. But I can at least give them 3 stars for being nice read more

I have been to the salon a few times for acrylic fills which they did a decent job. Today I came in for a pedicure and it was the worst pedicure I have ever had. The chairs were cheap and extremely uncomfortable with no massager, the chair only had a desk chair massage pad that did not work and poked me on the back. Extremely uncomfortable. The water was scolding hot The technicians wore gloves when massaging and My massage lasted 10 minutes. We were in and about in less than 30 minutes. I came in with my two sisters and it is safe to say we won't ever be coming back. read more

I came in with my daughter to have a fun mother-daughter day about an hour and half before closing, the women there were super friendly I did enjoy my pedicure and a little foot massage. Of course my daughter enjoyed it she also got painted polkadots with a little bow added to one of her nails. I want to give them more stars because of the friendliness but it was very expensive it cost me $90 for both me and my daughter to get pedicures, and nails painted, that's without tip. The other is the nail polish only lasted one day as I have included a picture it wasn't gel but I was thinking at least a couple days? I moved a year ago from the East Coast out to California, and tried almost a dozen nail places before finding Picasso - what a perfect fit! I've now been coming to Picasso for MONTHS, and every time, the service has been outstanding. Lani and her team are incredible; they greet me by name whenever I walk in, and are always able to accommodate appointments, even with my hectic schedule. The atmosphere inside is very relaxing, and I never feel rushed. They were even willing to open their doors a few minutes early on a weekend for a last-minute manicure for me. I get a gel shellac French manicure every time, and they do an amazing job, consistently. Their color selection is very trendy, and the ladies take great pride in their work. Looking at my yelp review track record it's obvious I really avoid giving less than less 3 stars. I try to talk to the manager before I expressing my grief to the public. Plus working many years myself in customer service, I get it, you have bad days, you make mistakes. Unfortunately, I had a really hard time communicating to the manager who didn't allow me to finish my request. After leaving the saloon a second time, I found myself really unhappy with the job they did. They really need to listen to the customer to figure out how to resolve the issue. Not offer services you didn't ask for to make up for it. In short my toe nails were scraped, prepped to be painted, when I asked for them to be buffed. That is all you need to know. Hopefully this review will help other people, instead of raking up bad karma that I try to avoid giving businesses 1 star. read more
