Van Gogh Sandwich and Tomato Basil Soup
    Riad S.

Craved a sandwich and stopped by this very cute corner deli. I was amazed by the friendliness of the owner/lady, the speed of service and the food. I ordered the half soup and half sandwich. The tomato basil soup was delicious. I went with the Van Gogh sandwich. Loved it! The bread was fluffy/fresh unlike most Ciabattas you get at other restaurants. I will definitely return here, there are several other sandwiches I want to try!

This place is fire! Got the roast beef sandwich and side of tomato soup! I didn't expect this in Modesto. It's seriously someone you would expect from New York or Chicago.

Discovery is in the heart up Modesto. The customer service is amazing. We ordered the Mona Lisa sandwich and an iced coffee. The Ambiance in the environment was welcoming in the place was clean. Definitely coming back when I'm back in this area.

Definitely recommend this place! The sandwich was amazing and the drinks were delicious. The owner is so sweet and friendly. He has some comics he brings in to share with customers. The music is relaxing and the view is nice. Please show this place some love

One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Steak was extremely flavorful and the au jus was strong. The pesto pasta was exceptional and the owner was incredibly kind. Gave me a good recommendation for a sandwich and even gave me a free sample of their tomato and pesto soup which was also delicious. Can't highly recommend enough.

Half of the Let It Be sandwich and half of the Rafael sandwich. The Rafael sandwich came with the side of Au jus dip (not pictured).

First of all the customer service was great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious we ordered The Rafael sandwich and the Let It Be. They were both absolutely fantastic. The artwork displayed inside the business was all made by the owner, which was absolutely amazing. Even the artwork on the tables are his own art from what I understand. It's definitely very interesting to look around to appreciate all the artwork. We will definitely be returning to try out other menu items and their coffee.

We loved Picasso's! This was my first time here at this restaurant. The staff was super nice and friendly. I am a vegetarian so I asked if I could alter one of the menu items which was a turkey sandwich- and of course they said yes! They added tomato and sprouts and left off the meat! The tomato bisque soup was divine ! Heavenly! So delicious. I will definitely be back. All of the art inside was beautiful as well! Very creative ! Thank you!

This place has always been a favorite of mine. Great tasting fresh sandwiches and the amazing tomato soup. One of the best Sandwich spots in the area in my opinion. They are also super friendly and the service is always very quick. Sometimes it hard to find parking but so worth it .

Pesto Salad and 1/2 Mozart Sandwich

Great Menu. Great Service. Reasonable good pricing. Paid parking lot nearby. If I were to make one change, it would be to make an effort to reduce plastic usage. We ordered one sandwich and two small containers of salads. For some reason, the order taker asked my companion if it was okay to split the sandwich between two containers. So we ended up with two clamshells. Each held 1/2 sandwich and a salad that was already in a plastic container. As a matter of fact, if I were to make two changes, I'd wrap sandwiches in paper to reduce the plastic load (and costs) even more. The food itself was excellent and it was enough food to satisfy the both of us. We were there during the lunch rush so we didn't get to walk around and look at the art on the walls. Maybe next time.

The inside is old school food place with photos of nostalgia of the country. Flow: You can call in and pick up for fast service or drop in and wait to be seated. It could be a long wait or it could be fast depending on the line. The service is fast though. They don't dilly dally and waste your time. If you are going to dine in you need to go to the counter and put your name in. Food: Leo Camarillo- You can order with pastrami, roast beef or both. (Not half and half) Lots of cheese and sautéed mushrooms. If you're not a mushroom fan just skip. This is so delicious I have been thinking about it ever since we got it. My wife doesn't like mushrooms and she still ate with the shrooms on. We ordered pastrami only. No ragrats! French Dip- My kids ate both halves and didn't even hook it up with a bite! It was juicy and the dip was perfect. Always add the cheese. The Italian- Loved the Italian. It had a lot of meats on it and the veggies were fresh. Topped with an Italian dressing. Salads- Pesto salad was my favorite. Excellent flavor. No heartburn. Spaghetti salad was the sleeper. Very unsuspecting. I thought it was going to be cold spaghetti sauce but it was tomato's and Italian dressing/seasoning. Potato salad was ok. We added pepper and salt. We ordered 3 sandwiches for 4 people and came home with an untouched half because there was so much food. Bill was less than $60 for all the food and the soft drinks. Will definitely be a frequent haunt now.

We had to regroup and were headed to another place when we got a call back from The Fruityard stating that they had our reservation down under a different name because it was written down wrong and could not be deciphered. Matt was very rude to us at the beginning when we checked in a very condescending tone. He should definitely not be THR person who greets guests when they check in as his demeanor is deplorable! What saved the day for us was our server, Shelley, whose constant attention and sense of humor were fantastic! Her menu suggestions were all spot on, our water glasses never got under half full and she brought smiles to all of our faces. I really wish restaurants would serve more than one type of soup on Friday, if they're going to have clam chowder, as it is my least favorite. The lasagna was delicious, however, I thought the price was very high, and they charged me a fee for a to go order: $1.50. For a total of $27.50!! Not a bargain. They were packed. The parking lot and inside the restaurant were full! It was a Friday night. They gave me my order pretty fast, and the hostess was friendly. The ambiance is beautiful outside. They have ducks, hens, and roosters running free. I love to feed the birds, it is my favorite part of going to The Fruit Yard.

The servers are extremely friendly, and always let you know nicely when your sandwhich is ready they don't just yell your name out even if it gets busy lol Everything is also very clean and sanitary with clean fountain soda areas and tables wiped down. I prefer this location over a lot of other locations because it is very spacious, it's self seating after you order your sandwich and the booths are nice. They have a nice bakery, hot food section, deli, salad bar, wine bar, and meat/fish counter. There is a huge gourmet cheese selection - literally any cheese you may want (cow's milk, goat, sheep) from nearly any country, they seem to have it! They often offer samples (if I remember correctly, if you want to try a particular cheese, they will give you a sample of it)! There are soups, sandwiches, salads, and other hot foods like mac n cheese. The quality of the meats is great! Everything is very fresh and well-maintained. The produce is very fresh too! Although many of these products are higher-priced, their other grocery items (i.e. canned/boxed/bottled/frozen foods) are much surprisingly cheaper than other grocery stores. The store is consistently clean and organized. The store hasn't been updated/remodeled but it still has a timeless design that looks very neat.
