My husband, myself and some of our friends were walking to another restaurant when we saw this one. It looked so cute, and quiet. They seated us immediately, and the service was great. But beyond the ambiance and service, the food was also really good. I got the fig pizza. Which was delicious. But would've been even better had I remembered to order prosciutto with it. My husband got the fusilli and that was so good. Our friends ordered the steak, and the potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. Wow. Everything was tender and buttery. Went for lunch and was pretty disappointed. There was only one guy working who was absolutely wonderful, although very busy which meant getting things did take awhile. The burrata was delicious again this time although very small. I wish I'd taken a picture of it but it was much smaller than usual. The salad came out looking super Sad. Like look at the picture. We ended up paying $1 extra to add tomatoes because it was very lacking. The pizza was a good size and the guy who ordered it really liked it, I wasn't a huge fan but it wasn't my meal. I ordered the panini which came out looking great but once again was pretty disappointing. There was almost no cheese on it. Half the sandwich had 2 slices of salami and the other had 1. Felt very lacking. Although the bread was delicious I would've preferred they gave me half the amount of bread and just put the small amount of toppings on one size for a more filling taste. I got the cocktail that was an orange creamsicle and it was delicious, I would order it again. Before that, my fiance and I both ordered different iced lattes with different milks and flavors. When he set them down he told us which was which and I didn't know until the end when I tried his that they were mixed up. I was thinking that the taste was very lacking until I tried his and tasted my gingerbread flavoring but at that point they were less than half full. I've been here in the past and really enjoyed everything but this time wasn't great. I'm not sure if they're trying to save money, they just don't care, or I came on a bad day. Not only is the food wonderful, especially the carciofi and fusilloni, but the staff is exceptional. On our second visit, while waiting to be seated after walking there in 100+ degree weather, I was suddenly handed a glass of ice water by a waiter. (I must have scared him.) Then after dining at the bar, we mentioned we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and were surprised with cannoli, a lit candle, and the entire restaurant swaying and singing along to Dean Martin's "That's Amore." This is a small , classy, upscale place-we went for a late lunch. The food was delicious, our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and we ate in the greenhouse surrounded by green plants climbing the wall. I happened to find this treasure when my husband and I along with our friends stopped by the local brewery. After getting our Kraft beer, we were looking for a good place to eat. I found this place on Yelp. It didn't have many reviews but the few it had were excellent so we gave it a try. Everything and I mean everything was delicious. We started with the Grissini and the quality of the prosciutto is so fine. We also decided to try the flatbread which had a sweet and tart sensation. I loved the fig jam paired with goat cheese and the tart of the balsamic drizzle. For our meal we had the sausage pizza. We tried it per the recommendation of one of the owners who said he has it every Saturday for lunch and we could see why. It was so amazing. We paired it with their house wine. Finally, for dessert I had the carrot cupcake. It was just right--not too sweet and simply delicious. All in all, we all said this is our spot whenever we visit the brewery in the area. read more

The service was good but half way through our meal we were told that the restaurant has a lot of reservations tonight so we only had a short time at our table. OK maybe they were busy but when I made our reservation this would have been good information to have. When it came to dessert we were told that we could have our dessert at the bar !! Ok we paid our bill $250 with a $60 tip. Politely said to the waitress that we would have liked to have our dessert at the table but ok seemed like she didn't care just wanted the table. Decided to have dessert at the bar asked for the manager was introduced to us as a person who said he was married to the owner expressed our disappointment he could case less just said we are really busy tonight and walked away. If this is how you treat a customer then I would say you will not last. We would have come back with other friends for the excellent food but with the dismissive treatment we will not be back. A Middletown institution! Something Sweet was my favorite restaurant so at first I was apprehensive BUT the decor is so beautiful, food is still amazing and now the wine list is great, too. Service is great because everyone is always so nice and Anna and Dave really care about the community. It is a great spot for a sit down dinner or to grab a glass of wine and a bite at the bar with a friend. The Bologna with mortadella is a must try, but so is everything else on the menu. Walked in Saturday night at 8:15, place closes at 9. They could not have been friendlier and eager to serve us. Service is super friendly, place is cute, and food and wine was superb! We were told the menu is seasonal and they always add to it. I was surprised at the extensive menu. Loved the ambience, and prices were reasonable, which goes a long way these days. A group of 6 of us went here for dinner last night. If you want a small intimate Italian restaurant with great food and service this is the place. There is seating for 22 people in a heated glass green house next to a small park in downtown Middletown. There are great deserts and an excellent selection of wines. There is also a small beautiful bar. My wife and I own a winery that was rated in the top 25 vineyards in the US and we know good wines. The first thing i have to mention is the food is fabulous but you better be ready to be rushed. We sat down at 5 and within 15 mins our waitress told us that we needed to order because they were fully booked and had reservations for our table later on. As soon as we were done with our entree the dishes disappeared and we were asked about dessert. Our waitress then told us if we wanted dessert we had to eat it at the bar because the next party was there. We had barely been there 90 mins. As a party of 4 we spent over $300 only to be rushed. When we commented to the waitress she responded with they are busy and this is just what it was. Not her fault she is just doing what was asked of her. When we talked to the owners husband he could care less and told us they were busy that night and when we share the waitress said it was like this every Saturday he had no comment. He never apologized, explained their policy or offered even a free round. Poor scheduling. Very disappointed since the food was excellent. read more
