This review is for a delivery..This is the third weekend in a row U have ordered from this restaurant. Last weekend I received an offer from a delivery service I had used before to order from this service. I selected items, and when checking out, it told me the delivery service did not deliver to my address, even though they had the previous weekend. This weekend I received the same offer, I ordered and this time they accepted. The sidesalad and appetizer we're spot on. Pasta was acceptable but the dinner salad could have been better. Beets, citrus and cheese is a classic combination. These beets were fine, the orange segments had not been seeded and the feta was left in large chunks. I personally make a better version with salt roasted beets, tangerine (seeded) and there. Big fail. Cutting corners is fine but seed your oranges and break up your cheese! read more

Went to the Doylestown location for dinner with my wife. First, the place had about 10 people in it and we were seated by the kitchen/bus station in a half booth half table. These tables should be used when the other are taken. After waiting a few minutes our waitress asked if we'd like to see the drink/wine menu. We said yes, so she dropped it and left. We waited about another 10 minutes for her toe return (there was no employee in sight, and then they appeared. It seems as if there was a staff meeting in the back). We ordered our drinks and then food. I had the Chicken Parm and my wife had the Gnocchi Florentino. The food was very good! However, when I asked for a second beer, they delivered me a lager that was not what I ordered. Once dinner finished, we got up to leave and had to walk around the manager (who was standing at the hostess desk talking) and she never even said goodbye, how was everything, have a nice evening, nothing. My family and I had dinner here over the holiday season, and the service and food were excellent. My granddaughter loved her lasagna, my son liked his veal piccata, and my pappardelle with bolognese sauce was perfect. The decor was nice, with Christmas tree and other decorations which were cheery. I have gone to this chain in Newtown frequently and to Doylestown occasionally, but I think this was our best dining experience here. read more

My wife and I went there on Wednesday, 13 October. We both had a great meal and nice drinks. I had the clams Nico. Which was awesome! We had such a good time. We decided to go back again that Saturday. Note: it was very busy. I got the clams Nico again, which was not anything near what I had had on Wednesday. I also got there special of the week upside down pizza it was a personal pizza where the sauce was on top of the cheese and drizzled with honey. That was $26 and no price on the menu. ( my bad I should have asked) plus my wife and I didn't get bread with their dipping sauce which we were also looking forward to nor did I get bread for my clams. The inside of the restaurant and the bar area are nice. They seemed like they had nice ambiance anyway. We sat and looked as we waited for takeout food. I like the eggplant parm sandwich (eggplant is tender and sandwich has the right amount of cheese and garlic) and my boyfriend likes the meatball parm sandwich. The vodka rigatoni dinner we got was overpriced and mediocre. First of all, I asked for penne but got rigatoni. The sauce was decent but the pieces of prosciutto were small, hard, and tasted bad. I don't eat that anyway so it didn't bother me all that much but they were gross. We'll continue to go there for our sandwiches and maybe try their pizza, but won't rush to try another pasta or other type of dinner. Depending on who waits on you, some employees are nice but mostly they have a don't care too much at all attitude, especially in person for take-out orders. When I called in the order and talked to Olivia, she was very nice. Let me start off by saying the food there was delicious. This was the first time my husband Theodore and I went there so we tried the pizza with meatballs mouth watering. We also had this drink called Blueberry Lemonade( WOW). We talked about how nice and clean the place is and the music I think we was singing almost every song. I have been here a few times with and without my kids. Completely forgot about this restaurant until one night we were craving Italian and thought of Piccolo. The food has always been amazing with every visit we make. I make it a habit to try a different dish every time, even though I do have my favorites. The only thing I would say it that the service in the dining room is lacking. The first night we were here our food took forever. The subsequent times it was long but not nearly as the first. The last time I ate here with the family our server disappeared for the whole time we were dining. I would absolutely sit at the bar anytime I dine here as the base tenders are top notch! Dining by myself today I went in to the restaurant around 3:15 PM. I ordered an appetizer and an entrée off of the special menu. The buffalo mozzarella, was under seasoned, and did not include all of the items specified. Then my entrée showed up, and my salad never made it to me. They did wrap up one to go for me. Then came the zuppa Di mare. This is a dish with some of the most special ingredients on the planet. Everything in the bowl was so overcooked. The pasta was like mush, the shellfish was Sandy, the lobster, the shrimp, the calamari really overcooked like somebody boiled them. I've had some good experiences in the past at this establishment, but $96 for just me and absolutely no alcohol on my bill, I had to say something. My wife and I went to Piccolo on a Wednesday and had such a great experience as far as the food being delicious (Clams Nico) drinks being made really well too. Such a great time we decided to go back that next Saturday! Note: it was very busy Saturday! We were able to sit at the bar again. I Ordered the clams again and their personal "upside down" pizza. which is nothing more the the cheese is under the sauce with a drizzle of hot honey. The clams were no where near as good as before , the dipping sauce it came in was more consistent to a clam chowder than a liquid. It really was a let down and that personal pizza I told you about was $26!! i didn't get bread with my meal nor did we get bread with their dipping sauce like Wednesday, which we were also looking forward to. Our family arrived Monday for a mini getaway from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The get-a-way was for our daughters 4th Birthday. Stopped for lunch on Monday and was super impressed with the grilled veg offering. The many...many pizza pies on display were also very tantalizing. Came here on Friday night with the boyfriend.. no problems getting seated.. our table was a bit wobbly and one of the waiters quickly reseated us at a nearby booth.. super nice!! Our waitress Caeli was amazing and attentive! Our dinners were delicious as usual!. I started with a Ceaser salad and added some anchovies. I chose the Chilean sea bass special...PERFECT!! The boyfriend had the Ceaser salad, added a bowl of the Seafood bisque --"good.. Lots of shrimp and fish...", and had the Capellini and crab for dinner..."good"... The boyfriend quenched his thirst with a blueberry old fashioned and I had a Kettle one Cosmo... both yummy.. Bill came to $120, which included a 20% tip which was truly deserved.. I live in the heart of Doylestown Boro in walking distance to every restaurant in town. I'll get in my truck and drive 10 minutes for the quality this place delivers time and time again. This has become our go to place at least once a week. Food is fantastic. The atmosphere is always fun and welcoming. Diana is one of a kind. She's a great bartender/server and is a main reason (along with the food) my girlfriend and I make it a point to get here as often as we can. Overall, it's quickly become our favorite spot in Doylestown by far. With many restaurants struggling to add and retain staff, it's nice to see the quality of the food hasn't suffered. Of course it helps to have quality people like Diana, who will keep us coming back. read more

I take back anything negative I've ever said about Piccolo. Because of multiple bad experiences about a year ago, I stopped going there and stopped using them as my 'go to takeout' or delivery. Recently we just decided to give them a try. Food was back to pre-horrible! Tonight we got DoorDash and got the chicken Marsala instead of the chicken Romano pizza. The rest of the order was perfect. I called and told them about the mixup and instead if the hard line negative bs, I got an apology and the correct pizza delivered in 20 minutes. I am pleasantly shocked and I will be using them for all my Italian restaurant needs in the future. Credit where credit is due. The pizza is perfect and delicious. The service here is so bad that my date and I tried to get a refund, but they refused to do so, despite the food we attempted to eat but couldn't stomach down. And yes, from the little bit we did eat, my date threw up inte car ride home because she got sick from it. This restaurant is a delightful addition to the area, as there are not enough independent restaurants like this around. I have been here twice with my daughter, who is very picky about her Italian food. The restaurant features a full bar and a take out area. The menu has everything from appetizers, salads, pizza, pasta, seafood, chicken and meat entrees, sides and dessert. It is nicely decorated with contemporary décor and warm finishes. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted and seated by the host. Next, we received warm focaccia style bread with a warm pureed bruschetta style dipper, which was very delicious btw. I ordered a glass of Chianti, which was decent for $7. For my entrée I enjoyed the seared salmon over spinach and cannellini beans with a red wine reduction sauce. The entrée comes with soup or salad, so I opted for the pasta e fagioli soup. The soup was very tasty and piping hot, just the way it should be! The salmon entrée also came out piping hot. The salmon was perfectly cooked, with a nice crispy seared on the outside and moist on the inside. The spinach, beans and wine reduction were a nice accompaniment. I took home the leftovers and think tasted even better the second day, as the flavors had a chance to develop. My daughter wanted her favorite pasta dish, linguine puttanesca, however, it was not on the menu. We asked if the chef could make it for her and the answer was, "Yes," no problem. She opted for the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette, which was very fresh. The puttanesca also came out piping hot. She loved it. Of course, I had to taste it, and was not disappointed! We checked in on Yelp and got a free cannoli for dessert. The cannoli shell was crisp, indicating that it was filled to order, as it should be!! The ricotta chocolate chip filling was not too sweet, perfect for me, but my daughter would have like it a tad sweeter. Second visit about two weeks later, I got the gnocchi florentino and tomato bisque soup. The soup was thick and creamy, perfect for the 19 degree weather. The gnocchi (homemade per the menu) was served with spinach in a pink sauce (aurora sauce) with melted mozzarella. Very rich, very delicious; it made for perfect comfort food on a cold day. Again, I brought home leftovers, but this time my husband ate it, as he had not had dinner. He asked me where the dish was from because it was excellent! My daughter did not stray from her favorite and requested a special order of linguine puttanesca again ;). Overall impression from my first two visits is: great food, great service and nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back. read more
