Piccolo's is a cafe that reminds me of a diner. Many different options in the Bing area, my niece and bf hadn't been here, so we gave it a try. We arrived for a late breakfast, early lunch, but everyone decided on breakfast. Bf got omelette and corned beef hash (not included, but as an add on). He loved every bite. Western and veggie omelettes were served with toast and home fries. French toast was good as well, and one of the recommended dishes. Reasonably priced with good portions, friendly service. I'm a frequent customer at Piccolo's. My usual is 2 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, one slice of toast and coffee. $8.37 includes tax. On a weekday, coffee is included. It's right next door to McDonald's, though I can't see going there when I had a relaxed sit-down breakfast for less than McD's charges for fast-food take-out. Service is fast, delicious food is beautifully cooked. Their french toast is another favorite of mine. read more

We stopped at this spot for breakfast spot and were very pleased with our meals. The english muffin breakfast sandwich was awesome and our food came out so fast! The waitress was very friendly and the overall diner was spacious enough to fit a ton of people without seeming too packed. read more

Good, cheap meals. Classic breakfast fare, and dinners like grandma used to make - pot roast, pork roast, that sort of thing. Filling and inexpensive. Friendly waitresses. If you wany haute cuisine or fancy decor, go elsewhere. But if you want a place to eat decent food cheaply, come on in. read more

Five stars is pretty amazing for a diner, I know, but I couldn't give four and a half! My family loves this diner and I wish we went more often. The only reason I would take half a star off is for the decor. There was some effort put into it, but it's typically humdrum. Great big, delicious pancakes are the kids' favorite and my husband loves their great selection of omelets and sandwiches. I usually go for one if the lunch specials, which are always good. If you happen to go in when they are serving beef short ribs, don't even consider ordering anything else. They're the best I've ever had. Good breakfast place! I was always skeptical of it, because a few businesses had been in an out of the location. Originally an Arby's, then a cafe, then ice cream, now diner. I went on a Sunday morning around 10 and it was hopping, but we found a booth and service was fast and friendly. The other patrons seemed to be mostly older folks, but it felt family friendly and inviting. The coffee wasn't that great but that's ok. I had the BMT omelette with cheese, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese, plus two pieces of toast and homefries for around $6 with the coffee. Not bad at all, and they had even better pricing on the more basic items. The menu was really big. I'd go back again and try some of the other items they have. I heard they have a good lunch too. read more

For some reason I've always avoided going here, but that was stupid of me because they have a very solid breakfast and a pretty decent lunch/dinner. The pancakes here were pretty good, not the best I've had but I'd say a solid 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars. the home fries were in the top 5 that I've had. the bacon and eggs were solid too, and the toast was toasted nicely. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was alright, the patty was very big but overall I didn't think there was anything too special about it, and the fries were very generic as well. What really impressed me though was their turkey dinner, it's definitely hands down the best one I've had from a diner. Most places serve turkey that's thin and dry and just a step above deli meat quality, but not here, Piccolo's turkey seemed very fresh and it was moist and very good, and the gravy was also good and they didn't use fake mashed potatoes, they were great! the stuffing was just alright, but the rest of the meal was awesome, so if you're craving thanksgiving but you can't wait til november then this is definitely the place to go. The staff was decent and the restaurant itself doesn't look like anything special, the place used to be an arbys. some of the booths are a little worn in and they can be a little cramped, so I would suggest sitting at the counter top or at a regular table. the prices were average diner prices, you can get a good amount of food for a very fair price. read more

Piccolo's is yet another diner option in the Binghamton area. Piccolo's sets itself apart largely because its housed in an old Arby's building, so it has this weird split personality. One minute you're like - "I'm in a diner." The next minute you're like "The ghost of Arby's is haunting me." Well, not really - but I have to try and make this review entertaining. In a nutshell - Piccolo's sells typical diner food. The prices are cheap. The setting is comfortable. And at 9:30am on Friday, the place was pretty packed. I personally prefer Danny's Diner (which is literally two storefronts farther towards Downtown) a bit more, largely because of the boxcar feel. Piccolo's just doesn't fit into my preconceived notions of what a diner should look like. But really, no complaints. And its much better than having an Arby's in the building. read more

This is my go-to place for brunch. Comfortable seating. Breakfast is available all day. Portions are large. Good pricing. The service is pretty good too. The staff is very polite and make sure to check on you frequently. Food arrives fast and coffee gets refilled quick! The Farm omelette and pancakes are my two favorite things here. Ordered a grilled chicken salad wrap to go. Manager punches everything in, charges my card, and then "suddenly" realizes he accidentally made me a grilled chicken spedie wrap instead. That was a bit irritating but I gotta say, I ain't even mad cause that was the best damn grilled spedie wrap I've ever eaten in my entire life and I've lived in Broome county for 21 years. Spedie marinade is my blood type. Waitresses are beyond nice, place is clean, has a diner feel to it. Plenty to the menu, prices are cheap, they make to-go orders and they do it fast. If you're in Bing, give this place a shot. Worst case scenario, you find a place you never wanna eat at again. Well, worst case is like salmonella or something, but I bet it'd be worth it. read more

Piccolo's calls itself a cafe, but it's really an amazing diner in disguise. Breakfast is available all day, and they have a huge list of specials. Their servers are friendly and attentive. I ordered a Saturday/Sunday special-3 slices of French toast, 2 eggs, and a choice of meat (I got bacon-3 strips cooked exactly as I'd requested) for $6.50. My boyfriend got biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs and that was amazing too. Definitely one of the better diners in Binghamton. read more

As diners go this place is pretty great. Not as sketchy as some of the other Binghamton Diners. And I personally enjoy The Plaza Diner in Vestal more than this one. However, this one is very close to where I live and on a Saturday morning it's easy to get to, there's fairly quick service, and the food is relatively cheap. I would definitely recommend the omelettes. read more

Everything you want in a diner: homemade stuff, large portions, low prices. They make a pretty good spiedi sub, considering it's not cooked over charcoal. Nice homemade soups and good old Frank's available hot sauce on request. Add this to the long list of good diners in Binghamton, though they should clean up the litter around their sidewalk. read more

Piccolos is good, wish I could give it 3 1/2 stars. Used to be an Arbys, which another reviewer made mention of 5 years ago. It still retains that vibe inside which is kind of unique and odd. A diner is a diner so unless they do something totally unique with their menu, such as The Village Diner in JC, than there isn't much more to say about the food. I love this place! All the home-cooked food you can eat and then some! Breakfast is great and served all day, too. I especially like the eggplant parmesan. If you are like me, you will have enough leftovers to eat for three more meals! They have lots of spacious booths and the whole place is big and comfortable. read more
