I order online and within the last 6-8 months the produce is not edible. I request a refund and they state it has been done but it HAS NOT. berries with mold, apples that are too green or mussy brown both not acceptable. read more

We live in Brown Deer, very close to this PnS, but unless I forgot to pick up something urgent, we go to Piggly Wiggly for groceries. The Brown Deer PnS is TERRIBLE. The produce is very often unacceptable. But that's not even the main reason we don't go. The general vibe--in terms of the looks and feel of the place, and in terms of the unattentiveness of the staff (except for the pharmacy)--is like you're at a Walmart... Just a very unpleasant shopping experience. I was recently at a meeting of neighbors and heard others in my neighborhood are also avoiding it, for similar reasons. Hopefully they will turn this branch around to make it more like the Metro in Mequon (which shows that Kroger knows how to get it right, when they decide they want to), or just close this depressing place down and bring us another grocery store that is more attuned to the growing needs of Brown Deer. Until that happens, I'm going to continue schlepping over to Piggly. read more

This is one of the most underrated grocery stores. I was happily surprised to find such great selection and quality products in this part of town. Coming from Florida and Publix grocery chain, I did not expect to find a near comparable grocer here. The only negative is checkout. Self checkout is difficult. The scan/bagging keeps stopping, requiring mgr. reset, which is annoying. Short staffing means longer waits if using regular checkout lane. Older comments here seem out of touch with improvements that have obviously been made. I'm a picky shopper and this store exceeded my expectations. read more

I had been going to another local Pick N Save and was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly this one is managed. First, customers seem to respect the store. Other than not having a shopping cart when first entering (however there was a young and very polite worker who helped with this) the store is fairly clean, stocked, and calm. This same young man also stood by the doors to be sure each shopper had what he or she needed as well as ensure check-out was successful. Their bakery selections will not disappoint and kitchenware is also plentiful. It may not be as renovated as some of the other Pick N Save locations, but the experience overall is quite good. read more

Shoutout to pick n save for having MORE THAN HALF of the self checkout closed with 10+ ppl in line. Maybe if y'all focused on providing faster service instead of spending literally all y'all effort worrying about ppl stealing a candy bar or other petty stuff this store would actually run better. read more

Terrible store, everybody working there seem to be mad at the world. The grocery carts are from back in 1900's. Wheels rattle with lumps in the rubber, nine out of ten carts pull hard to the right or to the left. Most other pick n saves had new plastic carts, and they come in two different size. I don't go there any longer because I can do much better at the one out on Appleton Av. I live pretty much in between the two, yet just a tad closer to green Bay Rd. So, it is me driving just a tad farther and be happy. read more

You don't save at Pick! I wouldn't typically pen a review for a grocery store chain. But, my last few last resort visits have lead me to throw Pick N Save in the ring and box it out. I don't know what's up with this store, but it is far from it's television advertising claim that everything is "Fresh." In fact, their Fresh Perks card is a joke. My biggest complaint is their produce department. Poor quality and many items are often out of stock. They used to have pre-packaged salads. A produce stocker claimed that they've ordered them for weeks and have not received them. I think they're just lazy. I've made a habit to check expiration dates on all meat and dairy products. There have been several times when the items offered have expired or expiring the next day. Come on, guys! Rotate your stock pile and stop trying to poison us! In the end, I will only go here if I'm desperate. It's certainly not my favorite place. Oh- and it's over priced. It needs a lot of help and change. read more

The place is clean Parking is never a problem. Even the farthest parking space is reasonable distance to the door. The aisles are easy to navigate and the space is clean and stress free to navigate. You can find what you need without a sherpa guide, map, GPS, etc Check out is the best, even when busy Every time I have gone there, the staff has been friendly and made positive personal exchanges The staff has in addition always offered exceptional service, telling me of sales, of where to find things, getting things from the back to compare, expediting check out, etc. The store has a full stock of what you are looking for and quality merchandise, the aisles are always stocked, swept, faced, The prices are better than most places, even as much as 20% lower than any grocery store on port Washington road North of Captial drive and as far north as ozaukee county. And in addition often the prices are on sale....most items I need each week have additional savings. And all these points, this store does consistently Several negative reviews are posted here stating things that are simply not true....And not representative of this store, the cleanliness, the staffs personality, the service given to customers, the quality of merchandise, and the price. I believe Those making negative reviews of this store have an unfair and hidden agenda that nothing that can be done will ever satisfy. And Substantively, this is the most comfortable grocery shopping experience ANYWHERE in Milwaukee. read more

This pick n save has gone way downhill. Now I won't go here unless it is picking up one small thing that I need - hopefully it is a frozen item. Produce selection gets worse by the minute. Recently, I needed one avocado to complete my recipe. I ran over to this store quick and the avocados looked TERRIBLE. I bought three in hopes that one would not be rotten. Alas, all three were black and gross. I returned them to the store, they apologized, refunded, etc. They don't carry many higher quality/healthy brands. This store is quite alright. It's kind of small and kind of outdated. But the few times I've been there, I've been able to get what I need and not have to wait long in check-out lines. The people working have been friendly, and they have baggers, which was pretty much never the case at the Pick 'n Save I used to live near and hated hated hated going to because it was generally such a miserable experience. So, not my regular grocery store, but I have no problems going here for those in-between trips to pick up a few items. read more

I purchased ground beef at the Brown Deer store on October 7th 2018. I purchased 3 packages. I made meat loaf with one pack and the beef was extremely tough not edible. I assumed I had just got a bad pack. I them made hamburger with the other package and my husband got extremely sick. I called the store, spoke with meat dept and the person said "This is not the same beef that was recalled". I told him I wasn't aware of a beef recall with the store. He told me to bring the meat back for a refund, no apology, no nothing. I live in Brown Deer but not will need to go to Piggly Wiggly in Mequon going forward. read more

Prices are not really the greatest, and a lot of the meats and dairy don't seem to be rotated well. Staff is nice and lines are short unless you are there within 30 min of closing in which no matter how many items, you are forced to use the self-checkout lanes which is always a treat read more

I moved to Brown Deer in December and have shopped at many local Pick N Save food stores in past 20 years. The Brown Deer Pick 'N Save is a bummer on many levels. The staff looks depressed; hard to find any of them with a smile on their face. When I couldn't find bagged oranges I tracked down a produce person who said he'd check. I went back to get his response and he stated "We don't have enough people working here...." assumedly to stock produce. This is Memorial Day Weekend which in retail is a big weekend. I spoke with another person who was stocking on their knees as if praying for some relief. I asked why P & S doesn't provide a small stool but they just shrugged in pain. I never seen anyone in charge around to chat up which gives the impression that management thinks this is the best Brown Deer has to offer. I suggest customer feedback on a large scale -- comment cards -- be placed throughout the store. Otherwise, I too will follow other BD residents who've migrated north or westward to Mequon or Menomonee Falls to shop. read more

meh. This used to be a decent store but their prices are just so-so and it appears that the store is always short staffed. The best thing about this store is the attached liquor department which has a respectable selection of spirits at decent prices. The chain appears to be high on hype and marketing, and light on substance. Within the last year I've been handed my receipt with prices on it and the cashier tells me how much I saved. Since I know I would have saved more up the street at a competitor, I didn't sweat the details. Problems like this are not worker driven or even driven by the way the store looks (which is fine enough) -- they are driven by management who has gotten away from what a salary for a grocer should look like. read more

This location is a solid store. Safe to say since it isn't as large as the Pick N Save in Brookfield, for example, so it's not able to offer as many products. The staff has always been helpful when called upon, the checkout cashiers present a positive demeanor. There is a half-aisle dedicated to natural foods (similar to what you'd find in area food Co-Ops or Whole Foods), but it is indeed modest at best. I'm thankful to be able to buy soy milk in various flavors from there. The alcohol section is segmented apart from the main store so you have to make a separate transaction to pop over there if you like. It is also within walking distance of a number of area apartment buildings/condos. (I consider less than one mile walking distance, for reference) It's not a "Super Store" but it is a nice local provider of essentials. read more

Slowly but surely, I've been setting the stage to break up with Pick n Save. I've been spending less time in their presence, ignoring their foolish games (i.e. Can you say Monopoly complete and utter b.s.?) and even started seeing someone else. Yesterday, my sister sent a text asking if I would pick up limes and mint on my way over for an Olympian-themed gathering. So I says to her I says, of course - and for the record, I like where this is headed. Only for the factor of convenience, I stop at this PnS. Alas, they have no mint, and wait - here's the kicker - they also have NO LIMES. How does a grocery store NOT HAVE LIMES? So, I've concluded, there is no need to delay the inevitable any longer. Pick n Save on Green Bay Road, you may have a really hot butcher, but that is not going to be enough to keep us together. I am a woman of substance, and I need more than that.
