This was another long time bookmark and since I was in the area I stopped by to get something to go for dinner. The people were friendly and patient while I looked the place over. The place has a country charm look to it. I was getting the Larry's tenderloin sandwich on sourdough bread and a cup of the crab something soup. The tenderloin sandwich on sourdough was so delicious with blue dressing, lettuce, tomato and onions. The tenderloin was cooked to medium. The crab soup was also delicious and you could taste the crab. I'm so glad that I stopped over.

This pot pie is one of many flavors. Add a salad and a glass of wine and LAWD help you!

Larry's Market is the coolest place to get the unique little dinner item for a quiet make at home. Make a comfy meal for yourself, your lover, your family, or a friend! Drop in here pick up appetizers, cheeses, wines, the best pot pies in flavors unimaginable, pastas, sauces, chocolates, non-alcoholic beverages, jams, special candies, all kinds of unexpected tasty treats to delight your guests! This ain't your regular grocery store!!! You'll love shopping here to make a special meal to surprise someone special! Brighten up a cold winter night! Put some heat in a chilly boring COVID Autumn evening! Spice up football game day! Make your Thanksgiving meal delightful with a special sweet treat! As for me, I was willing to risk getting a ticket to get a vegetable pot pie in my hands for Meatless Monday night dinner before they closed last night! I would have even begged for a police escort from the ticketing officer AFTER accepting my fine just to get there before they closed! Luckily, I called when I got off the highway to let them know I was only a few miles away and beg if they would wait for me! They did! I was toe wiggling happy as I ate my pot pie with a huge salad for dinner! Yes, it was that good! Thank you very much!!!!!

"Look to the cookie!" Black and white cookies straight outta Brooklyn! *and it was delicious**

Stopped in to grab an early dinner. Everyone there was really friendly/great customer service. I picked up two tenderloin steak sandwiches, a soda, and a black and white cookie. My total was roughly $22. They have a good looking deli case with lots of options for the build your own sandwich menu. Thought the steak was a nice medium, but I was a little disappointed it wasn't warmed, though I'm sure they would've made it that way had I asked. I'd definitely go back, this is a great little deli/specialty market! Plus it looks like they cater as well.

Definitely one of the best places to grab lunch in Milwaukee! Larry's is an old school deli/market that carries exceptional quality products. I love to get a prepared on the spot, gourmet sandwich from them when I'm working in the area. They also carry side salads, a plethora of drinks, and all sorts of wonderful snacks and desserts. I recently tried their Black Truffle Cashews and WOW. Gourmet cheeses, wines, and Nueske's & Sprecher products round out their offerings. The customer service has always been outstanding, and I plan on supporting them with my business for a long time.

    Nice selection of olives, yum!

This was a nice experience today when visiting Larry's Market after lunch at Kurt Schulz deli, which is just across the street. As we just ate lunch we purchased some in-house made pound cake to take home, sorry not pictured. I was impressed with the amount of local, national and imported products. The cheese selection is rather big for the size of the store, as well as the offerings of different pot pies. In the frozen section pot pies can be had from crab to veal, very interesting and this is on our list to try in the very near future. At noon the lunch rush almost stacked people out the door for freshly prepared sandwiches and soups, so I was only able to take one picture to show their menu. They offer a half sandwich at about $3.75 to $4.95. Nice offering if you would like to pair with soup or just a bag of chips. We will be back this week to check out their soup and sandwiches. Nice place, you should check it out.

    Outstanding catered picnic spread.

Regina was an angel and helped me choose items for a "last minute" charcuterie for 35! I got it done and the guests raved! Thanks so much!

There were several servers hanging around and it wasn't clear where I could order. Sat at the counter and was ignored for 5 min. The server came over and told me to go to the deli area. It was a challenge to understand the clerk. A quart and pint of soup with a bagel and lox was $40. While I waited i read recent reviews and was alarmed. What happened to the best Jewish deli in our area? The lox tasted very fishy, like smoked fish. Unlike any lox I'd ever eaten. I asked for capers and regretted it; there were so many and with only the tiniest shmear of cream cheese, it was inedible. Too salty to be edible. The bagel was ok, but couldn't eat much of it. The chicken soup with mishmosh also disappointed. The lid was swimming in grease. I discarded it carefully. There was 1 matzo ball (ok), tons of noodles (meh) rice (ugh - underdone and inedible) and a kreplach ( I had to spit it out - filling was rancid and sour). The broth was tasteless and unseasoned. What happened to Benji's? So sad.

Most of those spots only open for dinner, so I was thrilled to find that Bavette La Boucherie now serves lunch. My friend, a local, told me the restaurant originally began as a butcher shop. While that's no longer the case, the space still pays tribute to its roots -- shelves lined with kitchen knick-knacks, butcher-block counters, and a display of local provisions that hint at its past. Chef-owner Karen Bell leads the way here, and you can feel her touch throughout -- from the creative menu to the casual-elegant vibe. The décor blends exposed brick and warm wood with soft light and a friendly hum from the open kitchen. Our server, Matthew R., had only been with Bavette a couple of weeks, but his background in restaurant management showed. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and offered great suggestions. Before our sandwiches arrived, we shared a cup of pork and tomatillo pozole topped with cabbage slaw and a dollop of sour cream. It was piping hot, bright, and deeply flavorful -- the kind of starter that makes you stop talking for a minute just to enjoy the next spoonful. Having read rave reviews of the Korean steak au jus, I nearly ordered it, but Matthew suggested the roast-beef with cheddar since I'm not a big lunch eater. Excellent call. The sandwich was divine -- tender, flavorful beef layered with melted cheddar on a crisp, perfectly toasted roll. The beef-fat fries had great depth of flavor, though I'd love them even more if they were twice-cooked for that extra crunch. Being more of a gin or vodka drinker, I couldn't resist the Gin Old Fashioned on the cocktail list. It was delicious -- smooth, aromatic, and balanced enough that I happily ordered a second. Great food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Bavette La Boucherie is a gem I can't wait to revisit.
