The food is always fresh, the portions are generous, and I love that I can order sauces on the side so nothing is overly drenched. One thing I really appreciate is the portion size -- they're not stingy with the protein. I have eaten here in many occasions but was very disappointed this last time I went. I ordered Kung pao shrimp, and it came and it was like kung pao soup! There was so much sauce it was sickly and hard to eat. Maybe next I go I'll have to say light on the sauce. My first encounter of Pick Up Stix was in Vista and after church, my friends and my family would go eat there for lunch. When that closed down, I'm glad that this branch in Esco remained open and the only one that I know of in the North County. The employees are very nice. Tonight I had Mr. Alejandrino and he greeted me with a smile. I ordered House Special Chicken with Brown Rice. I've had this item many, many times and it's very delicious. What's great about this place is that they're one of the places that gives big portions and the prices are great. I can have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I ordered house special tofu, chow mein, spring rolls, and rice on 7/6/2025. The tofu was extremely salty, I mean like so extremely salty it tasted like I was eating a straight spoonful of salt with tofu. The chow mein was mushy and tasted like play dough. We received half the size of the portioned plates and it seems like they are single order portions. We ordered more dishes aside from this but it was just very disappointing. We paid $90 for the foods we got that would feed only 2 people but we ordered the family pack that it says was good for 4-5 people. I would not recommend pick up stix and please go to a place who would give fair amount of food for the price you pay. Specially for a special occasion please don't get or order from them. My Mother's Day celebration has been sad unfortunately because of the food that we chose to get and was not fair to give us the rights amount for the price we paid.
