I've been coming to this Pick Up Stix location pretty often, and it's honestly one of my favorite go-to spots right now. The food is always fresh, the portions are generous, and I love that I can order sauces on the side so nothing is overly drenched. The grilled chicken with vegetables and brown rice is consistently good, and the Mongolian steak never disappoints. One thing I really appreciate is the portion size -- they're not stingy with the protein. You definitely get a solid serving of chicken here, which makes it feel worth the price (especially compared to some other places that charge just as much and give you barely any). When that closed down, I'm glad that this branch in Esco remained open and the only one that I know of in the North County. The employees are very nice. The tofu was extremely salty, I mean like so extremely salty it tasted like I was eating a straight spoonful of salt with tofu. The chow mein was mushy and tasted like play dough. We received half the size of the portioned plates and it seems like they are single order portions. We ordered more dishes aside from this but it was just very disappointing. We paid $90 for the foods we got that would feed only 2 people but we ordered the family pack that it says was good for 4-5 people. I would not recommend pick up stix and please go to a place who would give fair amount of food for the price you pay. Specially for a special occasion please don't get or order from them. My Mother's Day celebration has been sad unfortunately because of the food that we chose to get and was not fair to give us the rights amount for the price we paid. Did not disappoint. Both were served fresh and hot out of the wok. A bit spicy for the kids so maybe next time I'll just tell them to take it easy with the chilis.
