Haven't eaten at Pick Up Stix since I was literally a child. I suddenly remembered how much I loved their lettuce wraps and decided to give it a go again. I'm happy to say it's consistently the same. Reminds me so much of my childhood when my aunt didn't have time to cook dinner so she would take this home. Even the wonton soup is exactly like I remember it. Just ok. I've always been curious, but I finally got the opportunity to give it a try. My husband and I were in the shopping complex and decided to pop in for dinner. There's plenty of parking. While there are no stairs to enter, the door is a bit heavy so I don't think it's very friendly to folks with physical disabilities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly. But it was incredibly cold inside. I get it. The kitchen staff is probably hot. So we decided to sit outside where it was less cold. The food was good. Nothing was bad. Given all the rave reviews for this location, I guess I must have been there at the wrong time. I went in just short of 5 p.m. and was only one of two customers in the place. I ordered the house special chicken and vegetables with brown rice and an order of cream cheese wontons. The chicken dish took only a minute for the chef to cook it, so that tells me he just heated up some food that was already cooked. The chicken was mushy and the sauce was a little on the sour side and also tasted burned. The vegetables, especially the carrots, were leathery and unpleasant. Luckily, the brown rice was cooked perfectly, and the wontons were very good. To their credit, the gentleman that served me, Christopher, was very friendly and gave me all of the sauces that I wanted. The restaurant itself appears to be very clean. I may come back sometime, but I'll do it during the dinner rush when they are cooking fresh. read more

In the past I never really thought much of the food here, then they burned down and were closed a long time. Take two, I had mixed feelings because a couple visits for delivery pickup were unbelievably long waits for the orders and I thought there was a perpetual D-Team employed here. Maybe a C-Team, Cs get degrees. It was after the usual lunchtime and I ordered the spicy shrimp bowl on promotion. I had a few choices for the base: White or brown rice, or fried rice (upcharge for the latter). Brown rice sounded good and I failed to pay attention at the total price and didn't get a receipt. Always ask I learned. I grabbed a seat and a short while later it was ready. I loved the crispy fried shrimp, and the sauce had a nice kick to it. After a few bites I realized that the girl had rung me up with fried rice, that added $2.49 more to the order. Definitely not worth it, not bad tasting, but not for that price. I'll oversee better if there's another time in the future. I really enjoyed the steamed dumplings, so big plus there. They offer a fried version as well. Overall, I'd come back to try other things, but definitely watch out for upsell tactics. read more

My daughter was craving this so we went and ordered take out. She got the bourbon chicken with rice. The staff was super friendly and everything seemed well. When we got home, my daughter started eating her meal when she noticed something shiny in her chicken. Upon close examination we noticed it was some sort of metal bristle from a grill brush or maybe something metal from a scrubby. Kaden is worthy of mention. I've been coming here for the past year. I have yet to walk into this store without him intentionally welcoming me in. When I encounter customer service at this level, I'm inspired to write these yelp reviews because it reminds me of my days in customer service (10+ years). I would have hired him in a heartbeat to be on my team. He's always hustling and level minded. He's articulate and empathetic. I also see how well he interacts with his coworkers. He sure knows how to balance customer service and get work done. To management: I would either give him a raise to commend him so that other workers can understand what a role model looks like or give him a position where he's valued more. With his work ethic and knack for people, he can easily make at least double the income per hour working for tips at restaurants and you wouldn't want to lose talent like that. I would like to compliment the staff at the Riverside location. The Manager is Chris and he is an amazingly nice guy. He cares about the business and seems very sincere in all his efforts to make the customer's experience a great one. The front end employees always have a smile and express a warm welcome when I walk in. I go there enough that they know what tofu dishes I order, they even remember the added ingredients I always ask for. The Chef makes the tofu dishes look appetizing which is not a common occurrence at other brand restaurants. My kudos and appreciation for the Chef's efforts. I go to this particular restaurant because of the staff and atmosphere. I never feel rushed to leave when I am taking longer than usual due to work emails. I would also like to say that I have been in line behind homeless individuals and they were all treated with kindness and dignity. Because of the awesome staff and the food preparation in Riverside, I look for other Pick Ip Stix restaurants when I am outside of Riverside. Similar vibes to Panda Express. I really like the Firecracker tofu, it was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. If you want to add more heat they give you packets of sriracha. The service was friendly and our food came out very quick and piping hot! They have a prime location right next to the movie theater and are a great fast casual spot to grab food after watching a movie. Cheap, large portions and good food. It was super small portions of meat/chicken and HUGE amounts of rice & chow mein in the plastic container despite paying for extra steak there was very little. HAD ZERO SAUCE ON THE ORANGE CHICKEN.. like this feels like a bad joke... The cc wontons were literally flavorless. Chow mein tasted super odd. Hot honey chicken is atrocious, should not be served in its current state. You will not be able to taste the rest of your food. That's probably me being to nice. I usually order the House Special Beef thats my favorite. But the last two times disappointed me so today I tried the House Special Chicken. BIG MISTAKE is looked weird and it taste weird. To begin with, it was chopped up like cat food so I felt like I was eating a sloppy Joe or a stew. Secondly it takes like it was old or soggy.
