They have gift card deals for example buy $40 get $10 bonus bucks right now for Christmas/New Years promo. I really like their Asian salad dressing and I like that you can get your own Katsu and teriyaki sauce (they are not cheap with these sauces, these two available by the soda machine). I had a very disappointing experience at Ono Hawaiian. I ordered from Brandon, and during our visit my 3-year-old son urgently needed to use the restroom. I personally watched someone return the restroom key, but when I asked if my son could use the bathroom, Brandon refused and claimed the restrooms were occupied. My son was on the verge of wetting himself. To make sure there wasn't a misunderstanding, I knocked on the restroom door several times and received no response. The restroom appeared to be empty. What made the situation even worse was Brandon's attitude. Rather than showing any concern for a young child in obvious distress, he seemed to find the situation amusing. Denying restroom access to a 3-year-old who genuinely needed it showed a complete lack of compassion and basic customer service. I'm extremely disappointed that Ono Hawaiian would allow an employee to treat customers--and especially children--in this manner. This experience left a very negative impression, and I hope management takes it seriously. read more

I love a good Hawaiian platter and Ono definitely satisfies the craving for me. It's not my favorite Hawaiian place in the IE, but it is the closest to where I'm located. I enjoy the classic flavors and sweet-savory sauces, but I feel that the food is greasier and heavier than it tends to be at similar places. I really love the seafood options here and would definitely recommend the fried fish. Staff is friendly and service has been pretty quick in my experience. I usually get my food to go as I don't feel that it's that nice or comfy inside, but I've dined in before when I was in a hurry and it was fine. If I were to suggest one thing, it would be to allow for greater customization of the plates. You get your protein laid out on a bed of steamed veggies, a few scoops of rice, and a scoop of Mac salad. As far as I know, they don't allow substitutions. This location is our favorite to dine at! The service is always pretty quick and there are both inside and outside seating options! It's also always really clean -- which I'm sure we all appreciate! We normally get the Hawaiian BBQ chicken plate because it comes with no sauce on it, but this time we switched it up and got the Chicken and Beef combo plate. It was sooo good!! The beef was not super hard and chewy and felt like it melted in my mouth. And the chicken never disappoints!! I normally get my plate with an extra scoop of their Mac Salad (which means one less scoop of rice) because it is literally the best Mac salad I've ever had -- sometimes I even get all Mac salad and no rice! I've been here several times and this location is very consistent with food and service. Food: I tried the hawaiian bbq chicken on this visit. My go-to is the island white fish. The chicken katsu is also pretty good! Each plate comes with 3 scoops (can choose rice, macaroni salad, or a mix) and a side of grilled vegetables. One plate is enough to share between 2 people from my experience. My only complaint is that the grilled vegetables is usually only cabbage with 1 small piece of broccoli. The meat is always well-cooked and seasoned. They offer a variety of sauces like katsu, Sriracha, bbq, tartar, soy sauce, sweet mustard. Service: Very helpful staff with relatively quick service! Easily answer any questions you may have about their food and with a smile. Price: You definitely get the bang for your buck here! Large portions at very reasonable prices. They often have specials, right now it's $6 Island white fish or shrimp plates with 3 rice scoops and salad. Ambience: Quiet restuarant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I give this place 3 stars, because my MIL loves them. For full disclosure, she has never had great spam musubi and loves the ones from this location. When we ordered spam musubi from here, I got back to her house to a few things: 1. sloppiest restaurant bought musubi ever. 2. The spam to rice ratio was terrible 3. The musubi was lopsided and just sloppy. I grew up eating this made by my mother and later learned to make it myself, so I will admit I am pretty harsh when I am critiquing it, but I will eat most spam musubi and be okay. This was terrible. I will stick to making my MIL her own so she can know the difference between good musubi and quickly thrown together stuff. The food at Ono always hits and is consistently good across multiple of their locations but there are a couple of things that bring this place down a couple notches. Their wait times are kind of long. This is partly a reflection of how busy they are, partly due to being understaffed, and partly the meat being prepared to order. I was standing around the restaurant for over 20 minutes waiting for my order. It's not the end of the world but it was mildly annoying. The next thing that they need to figure out is their teriyaki sauce. The sauce itself is delicious but the delivery method/pump needs reworking. It is off to the side/back area of the indoor area and it comes out HOT. The pump for the sauce is a janky. If you put a mild amount of pressure on the pump it won't budge and then if you put 5% more pressure it shoots down all the way squirting molten sauce into the tiny plastic cup. This happened to me and it mildly burned my hand, splashed sauce on my shirt/pants, and got all over the counter. Also, because the sauce is so hot, the plastic containers lose their structural integrity and attempting to put on lids causes them to nearly fold in on themselves making this whole thing a disaster. I noticed sauce was splashed over the counter before it was my turn to grab sauce and I realized it was because the exact same thing happened to the person before me. Overall: Food is good. The wait and sauce situation can be improved. I'd come back but maybe order ahead and be very careful with that teriyaki sauce! read more

It was one of those days where my wife and I were craving comfort food from back home and the closest thing we could get was Ono Hawaiian BBQ. Given that my wife is currently pregnant, she had a STRONG craving for spam musubi. Unfortunately, she's not supposed to eat that so we came here to see if they had any other forms of musubi (back home in Hawai'i there's teri-chicken musubi, hot dog musubi, chicken katsu musubi). We were literally the first person in line waiting for Ono Hawaiian BBQ to open. My wife and I opted for their fish salad and chicken musubi. They did warn us that it would me a little bit of the wait since the fish for the salad is fried fresh to order. I was fine with that and my wife was fine with that, but I could see the hangry look in her eyes when the smell wafted out of the kitchen and she started salivating. The food was pleasantly good and hit the spot for the comfort food. It definitely is a bit pricier than the usual plate lunch you would find in Hawai'i, but the fact that they actually had chicken musubi and bbq beef musubi is a plus. The salad was fresh and came with a really good dressing. The white fish was nice and crunchy with two big pieces served on the salad.
