Master Gan is located in a mall food court. I'm not sure if this is a chain, as I haven't seen other locations. The photos gave me the impression that this was an authentic Chinese noodle shop but the reality over time hasn't quite met what was once the vision. But the food was good. We had the dan dan noodle and the beef noodle soup. The food had good flavor and prepared to order. For a food court, it was fine. I would go back if I was in the area. read more

Located in Tyler Galleria food court, this place is a legit authentic Chinese gem. Serving mainly noodle dishes and dumplings, the menu is small and specialized. The noodles are freshly made AFTER you order, which is super cool, although the thick noodle could've been more al dente. The braised beef noodle soup was a bit too salty for my taste but full of flavor. The beef roll was tasty but too heavily sauced. I think if I ordered the same things but asked for less salt and less sauce, I'd be very happy with the meal. Prices are kind of normal for post pandemic Chinese food. I see a lot of potential for this place and will come back for sure! PS: If the manager is reading this, please allow tips instead of no tip being the only option on the credit card dialog. Nice spot in the Tyler mall food court. I kept hearing good things about but was hesitant to try until I saw that they make the ramen noddles fresh in the morning and you can definitely taste that. The black garlic tonkotsu ramen had lots of flavor and it came with two pieces of pork, half an egg, bamboo shoots and mushroom. The cashier was nice and they give you a buzzer to alert you when your order is ready. Love the convenience of the location being at the mall food court so when you shop you have a nice fresh meal. Overall a good meal definitely love that we have this available. read more

Braided beef noodle is legit and it is so hard to find places that make this. Master Gan is awesome and they make the noodles and soup from scratch. The spicy sesame soup is also good if you like creamy soup with a slight vinegar taste. To top it off it is in the mall food court so hit this place up. read more

I was delighted to stumble upon Master Gan in such an unexpected location. There's really not much authentic Chinese food in the IE or Riverside areas so I was surprised to see this in the food court of the Tyler mall out of all places. I wasn't even hungry but had to try! I got the braised beef noodle soup. You can choose to add cilantro and green onions, the spice level and choose the type of noodle. The noodles are freshly made and hand pulled, you can watch the chef making it! The broth was flavorful and umami and there's not much heat in the chili oil but definitely takes it up a notch flavor-wise. read more

Master Gan is truly a hidden gem in the mall food court! Ordered to go via the touch pad at the counter, and it was ready within a few minutes. I was surprised when I found Master Gan on Yelp and discovered it's located in the Tyler Mall food court! We love ramen, so I I convinced my husband that we needed to pick up a couple of things from the mall and get dinner. We were so glad that we did! We each got the C2 combo with braised beef noodle soup (med. spice and we added a boiled egg to each bowl), pan fried dumplings, and iced tea for our drink choice. Everything was delicious! I had asked for mild ramen three times and still ended up with chili flakes in my ramen. The gyoza was as tough as leather. We got an order of pork buns which were ok. But, I've had better elsewhere. They also advertised that the noodles are made fresh. You can watch them being hand made through the window . That didn't happen either! Wow this place really surprised us! It's located inside a mall food court on the second floor. Who would've thought that you'd find amazing Chinese food inside a food court? Service was amazing! The cashier was friendly and helpful. He noticed that my son was having a bad day and gave him a scoop of complimentary ice cream. Thoughtfulness like that doesn't go unnoticed! Now let's talk about the noodles! You can see the guys making them through the clear glass. They tasted amazing - fresh and chewy! I recommend N2, which was what I ordered. The meat was so tender and well seasoned. Sometimes restaurants don't get it right with the meat in beef noodle soups and it's powdery or overcooked. Not the case here! They perfected the meat. Holy cow, its honestly a crime that this place isn't packed with a line down the food court. I've eaten at a lot of noodle/dumpling houses, including Din Tai Fung. I was worried when I approached and saw how slow they were at lunch time but I was blown away by the quality. First of all they make their noodles in house fresh. You can taste it in the quality. The soup itself came loaded with beef, fresh baby bok choy and customizable spice (I got medium and it was perfect). I got the combo that came with 4 dumplings and a drink and it was 20$ it also came with soy, chili and black vinegar to dip the dumplings in! Honestly? After reading the great reviews, my wife and I decided to give them a shot. Little cautious due to relatively low number of reviews, but found out they're new. Only opened in September. Must say, one of the best bowls of soup we've had, and we just spent 4 weeks in Cambodia, Japan, and Taiwan. Absolutely fabulous flavor, watched the chef make our noodles fresh, and the quality of the meat and vegetables fantastic. Don't expect food of this level at a food court in a mall. The food is delicious but please hire someone else. Girl who is at front was not dressed to work had earbuds in the whole time and was on her phone. I asked a question and she acted bothered like it's not her job ? Then she made our order to go when we wanted it for here. I promise you there's tons of people who actually want to work. The best braised beef noodle soup I've ever had! The beef was tender and flavorful. The broth was delicious. Not too salty. Just right. You can see the noodles being hand-pulled in front of you. The second time I ordered the chicken combo mild with noodles and when I got home it was actually the beef and spicy! Only thing was We asked for the chili on the side since the chili had peanuts and I'm allergic and they ended up putting the chili on the noodles so I couldn't eat that and ended up giving it to my husband. Please please please try this place out!! This is absolutely a legit Chinese noodle place, I'm actually surprised something this authentic and vibrant is in a mall food court! The dry spicy noodle HITS (I'm legitimately eating it as I'm writing this review) and they make the noodles fresh after you order (it's nice to watch them make it through the window) I hope one day this place gets its own stand alone restaurant so I can enjoy their food without the hustle and bustle of the mall :) probably the best addition to the Tyler Mall food court in the last couple of years read more

Then I got a call back from DoorDash -- not to help me, but to relay a message: **Big Sky had contacted them specifically to refuse my refund.** Let that sink in. A customer found a maggot in their food, couldn't eat a single bite of a $54.19 order, and the restaurant's response was to **actively call DoorDash to make sure I didn't get my money back.** I understand that occasionally bugs happen in food service. It's gross, but I was fully prepared to move on had they simply taken responsibility. Instead, they chose to fight a $54 refund over a maggot. We all had the lunch specials which came with egg flower soup, an egg roll, fried won ton, steamed or fried rice and your entree. They sat us in the VIP section and had the room to ourselves. 2 waitresses were helping us. Ambiance is old school vibes. Food was tasty. They asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and we told them my birthday. One of the waitresses then came out with a little red envelope and inside was a $5 bill. How sweet is that!

First, I arrived shortly after they opened on a Tuesday, which is important to highlight because they're closed on Mondays, and I suspect one dish I tried had the texture of leftovers (from the weekend). Part of me wants to try again later in the week, and day to see if this was a fluke. What I ordered was a rice bowl with braised pork belly and daily vegetables. Everything was good except the pork was dry and tough, clearly not braised that day or heated all the way through. I forget what my first choice was, but it wasn't available that day. My other item was the wonton soup, which also disappointed me for a few reasons. Portion size is good, but the broth tasted really thin, watery, and the wontons were overcooked and falling apart. The cause was they were forgotten about and the pot boiled over. Generally, you cook these below the boil to prevent the cloudy mess from disintegrating skins. The filling tasted fine, but again, overall flavors and balance was marred. I did, however, enjoy the lenon tea that comes with every combination meal. And, the employees are very nice, but the food didn't make the cut. They have a big menu and I've seen the skewers and hot pots in action so I know there's potential.

You can order to go or dine in. The staff was super friendly & very attentive. Everything came out fresh and hot & full of flavor !! This place can't be compared to any fast food Chinese food spot like Panda Express or other similar places. It's authentic Chinese restaurant.. I'd definitely recommend this place especially if you don't want to drive farther out to Orange County or La area . It's tucked in a very nice shopping plaza right by the movie theatre and water fountain area with a beautiful garden.

Anyway, they replaced it for us but I overheard the waiter tell his manager that we ordered chow fun by accident. The manager then told us something about "our mistake" upon paying, placing blame on us . The manager was nice about it, but we repeatedly told the waiter chow mein and he kept correcting us to chow fun. Also, there is a section of the menu labeled chow mein and a separate page labeled chow fun. I think I know what we ordered. Disappointing.
