Wowww I love it here! It's an all volunteer run operation that funds five different programs in the area, so you're shopping with a good cause. The ladies that run the shop are all very kind and are fun to chat with. The store itself is clean and organized with fair prices on everything! I brought the Assistance League some suit jackets and other items that I did not realize had some moth holes in them. The volunteers noticed the holes and immediately returned the items to me stating that people will not pay for items that have moth holes in them. Fair enough. They further pointed out that they found a few cat hairs on the items. After their inspection of a couple of items, they returned my entire donation to me, making me feel like a total loser. I had a different experience with them a year ago when I brought bed linens to them which they accepted easily. I will never go back to this organization to donate goods. read more

I'm only giving this a 3 star simply because with the exception of a few racks this is all women's clothing and I'm a guy. Everything looked quality nicely placed on the racks missing junkie at all in this shop. No bins of toys or shelves full of messiness. One-third news a consignment section or at least it looked like the other two thirds is the mostly womens portion. If you're in the hood it's worth a stop and a shop. read more

I don't like that the dressing rooms are closed. At this stage in the pandemic, there's no limit on the number of customers who can come into the store, and there is no mask requirement, yet the dressing rooms are closed to protect us from Covid? It doesn't make sense. The check out line is excruciatingly S-L-O-W. The prices are sometimes a bit high, especially on anything that's perceived to be "designer", even if it is woefully out of style. read more

Terrible and overpriced selection, rude and crotchety staff, and when their card reader wouldn't work (as it wasn't for the person directly in front of me) they blamed it on my card and I was unable to checkout with the one thing I found by SEARCHING for 20 minutes. This thrift store seems hidden--it is almost impossible to see from the main road and is tucked behind the regular strip of mall-like stores. A friend and I stumbled on this place years ago when wandering the Beaverton Town Square area and we were thoroughly excited when we did. There was a $1 rack of clothes near the front and we were suckered in to exploring the entire store. The majority of this review focuses on the clothing available because I have neither made a purchase in the consignment shop nor purchased housewares/furniture. Back then, the prices were unbelievably low. Since then, they have begun to creep up but if you hit this place during a half off sale or, my personal favorite, the "stuff whatever you can into this paper bag for $20 sale," you can score amazing deals. Even if you don't shop a sale, the proceeds are all going back into the community. There are no employees, just volunteers, and this thrift store as well as its two neighboring consignment and thrift shops are all part of this same community action initiative. I (a twenty-something) have a less mainstream style than others in my Beaverton area and regularly find things here that I like, but to someone who considers Plato's Closet slumming it, this would be a difficult place to pick up new-to-you items. Sometimes I have come across really expensive vintage pieces that are, inexplicably, incredibly cheap and other times they have been placed in the "purple tags" section which is more like a boutique Goodwill as far as pricing goes. One last thought--the style of clothes that arrive here has slowly started to include a small quantity of teen and twenty-something clothes (according to volunteers, anyway) but the main reason you should consider visiting this thrift store is to look through the racks of 70s, 80s, and 90s fashions waiting to be uncovered. Got a hankering to throw a bit of Annie Hall into your wardrobe? Done. Love the colorful, shoulder-padded, women's power suits from decades gone by? Done. Hoping to find a killer pencil skirt in a trendy color for waaay less than the department store? Stop here. read more

Don't come here if you're younger then 50 or have any visible tattoos or look any type of way that would make any senior citizen uncomfortable. My husband and I have been here multiple times and have purchased items each time we visit and without fail, "volunteers" harass you by following you around to the point where you are uncomfortable and feel you need to leave. This is not the type of experience volunteers should be offering to a thrift store. read more

I... ~The self-proclaimed QUEEN of THRIFT STORE SHOPPING~... has found yet another thrift store to be conquered and added to my list! YEAH! ME!! Although, I have shopped at other Assistance League Thrift stores in California and Washington, I have never been to this one. It was a treat, for sure! Today's "SPECIAL TAG SALE" was on purple PANTS & SKIRTS tags - which lowered the tag by 50%. I had cash in hand and was ready to spend...unfortunately, I could find a thing on the 50% off racks! TOTAL BUMMER, right?!?!?! NO! NO! WAIT! I found a "treasure trove rack" all the way in the back!!! YES! A "clearance - ALL SALES ARE FINAL!" rack!!! I found a super great pair of JAG Bermuda shorts on the rack! MY! SIZE!! MARKED $2!!! Needless to say, I was totally thrilled with that price! Summer is coming and I HATE paying full-price for things you can only wear 3-4 months out of the year!!! I kept on perusing the rack and found a really lovely pair of Ellen Tracy dress slacks for $4! SCORE!! AGAIN, YEAH! ME!!! So I was totally happy that I had found SOMETHING to buy AND both items only totaled $6!! NO! WAIT! WAIT!! This gets even better! Apparently, the "clearance rack" (which was already at rock-bottom prices, by my standards!) was ALSO 50% off!! Seriously??? I get ANOTHER $3 off??? TOTAL!!! SCORE!!! The store carries MOSTLY women's clothing. There were a few racks with men's items but the majority is for women. There are some really nice name brands on most of the garments. The racks are nicely organized and sized, too. There are a lot of "mature" clothing. I would say the average age for most of the clothing would be 40-60. I luck out here, as I am 44. But if the younger "HIP" crowd is searching this shop, I am pretty certain they won't find much. Even for me, some of the clothing was too matronly. Pricewise, some of the clothing seemed too pricey for me, but I think the quality of this store, the quality of the items and the cause it serves makes it worth the purchase! I am more then HAPPY to spend my money at locally-owned stores that serve the community! "Shop local - serve locals!!!" I look forward to going back when spring starts and I can start outfitting my closet for summer. I am certain that I will be able to find some lovely things! The staff (all volunteers!) are super friendly and helpful. The store is staff with lots of people and they are all ready to help - if you need assistance!!! P.S. I wasn't able to visit the furniture/housewares side of the store, but other people were commenting on how low things were priced and the nice quality of the items...Maybe I'll visit that side of the store on my next visit! read more

Excellent sales - all the time. Prices range from $1.00 to depending on how much you would like to spend for items. Shoppers need to remember is that there is usually one of a kind and it might not be there the next time you shop. The stores have shortened hours and days of operation due to the pandemic. Check their website for additional days and hours. All of the workers are volunteers. Reading the other reviews - if the shops don't have what you're looking for - have you considered donating or consigning your gently used items? Donations are accepted on Tuesday from 10-2 and you can call the Consignment shop to set up an appointment. read more

A friend recommended this place especially because of who it benefits etc saying it was part consignment and part thrift store. I was really excited to look at the place for shopping and donating since I have a lot of clothing I need to donate and a lot of it is really nice so I was hoping to find somewhere special. I brought another friend in who came across town and we loaded me and my wheelchair in on a weekday. First off, the hours are ridiculously short - I nearly fainted when I found out they close at 4pm. Oh wait, actually they close at 330pm because that was when they LITERALLY I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP closed yes CLOSED the door on me in my wheelchair... That will wake someone up - I am just grateful I am young without a heart condition. We thought it was a crazy door malfunction but after struggling to get me free from the door a very rude woman said they are closing and that they would ALLOW us to look but that we should come back tomorrow if we want to buy anything. This is as all of them are lounging and chatting with people. We got the definite impression from all the conversations you have to know people there to be treated even remotely reasonably. Sorry, I don't think my heart can handle another assault from your store. We did glance figuring we might as well since we had to Thunderdome our way in but the one necklace I saw which was not over the top costume jewelry was marked for over 1k and was a silver chain with a silver pendant. My friend and I joked on the drive to do shopping elsewhere that we could not handle the ridiculous prices or the medical bills! I will let you in on the rest of the medical bill joke...while we were leaving (gee, the doors worked just fine while we were going!) some guy apparently was purchasing some overpriced furniture. He ran out and jumped in his car, popped it in reverse and came flying at the entrance while an employee/volunteer waved her hands for him to come on in as we were trying to leave. My friend and I visited last week. About ten minutes before closing we heard an announcement. Immediately a very pushy woman came up to us and said, "We're closing, you need to power shop or something." Then she hovered. My friend left immediately she was so offended. I stayed a minute more and noticed that several women were lined up to make purchases. This has always been one of my favorite thrift shops in Beaverton. I even considered joining the organization. I submit that there are more kind ways to alert shoppers of closing and that volunteers should be coached appropriately. read more

Both the thrift store and consignment store are wonderful! The consignment store has beautiful crystal, china, furniture, and jewelry. Everything looks brand new to me, and given the high quality of the things for sale, the prices are very reasonable. The thrift store, where things are donated, has clothing and housewares. The prices are good, plus they have sales where things are marked down from the already low prices. There is a "purple tag" section for items with more expensive name brands. I found a very cute leather jacket in perfect condition, a very good brand, for less than $20 that I am sure was over a hundred dollars at the original store. I found a brand new dress shirt for my husband, marked down to $3! Yay for these adjoining stores! The location is across from the mall where TJ Max is in Beaverton, on 117th. It's easy to get to although it is not on the "main drag." read more

I have frequented this thrift store on a semi-regular basis. A few years ago it was my favorite and I really enjoyed conversing with ALL the volunteers. However, in the last couple of years their prices have gradually risen to the point where it is mostly unlikely for me to purchase something affordable. As an example, gone are the days when I could find a used bra that was in perfect condition at a very fair price. They have now completely stopped selling bras unless (I am told) they are new. For me, the idea of going to a thrift shop is to save money on clean used items I need and the occasional item I just simply want. One volunteer told me they stopped selling some items because they were just too difficult to keep organized in the area they were kept. Who cares? People look for value and not necessarily neatness in a thrift shop. Rummaging around is part of the fun! Also, while I value the fact that this is a volunteer staff I find some of them are "snooty" rude and sometimes judgmental. I don't appreciate these attributes in anyone. If I wear shoes you don't feel acceptable to you, you should keep your comments to yourself and not embarrass your customer. For the most part, the items being sold are clean and in very good condition. However, it is a good idea to ensure that before you purchase and leave with your item(s) you make certain of the condition. Many times I have found a problem with a purchase I made but not realizing until I got home. They do not accept returns. Thus, be careful. I do place a high value on the contribution they make to the families they support however, it is unfortunate they do not always show that value to their customers. read more

I had washed a bunch of former work clothing on gentle, nicely folded and ready - and they wouldn't make an allowance for 3:20. Nowhere did I see information about getting donations here before 3:00. There are two stores side by side in the same building , one is amazing and the other is well... not so great. One store has glassware, furniture, pictures, jewelry, and rugs. I saw several different styles of high end crystal drinking glasses that are vintage, super high quality. Some are true works of art!. If you're someone that throws parties look no further for an amazing wide selection of crystal drinking glasses . I saw a ornate vintage gold punch bowl , with gold cups it looked like something you would see at the queens palace truly stunning, The prices are the most reasonable prices I've seen on most things. So, of the furniture was funky, but that what makes consignment fun. The thrift shop next door, has clothing, leather good, shoes and small knick knacks this place has crazy high prices. I saw an item that was broken there and the lady was willing to knock of $5.00 it was truly pathetic, since people donate these items for towards a good cause and to help others in need as well so, how does that help the needy when the prices are so crazy high.. There are a few items that have a fair prices, but not enough for me to return. read more

I love shopping here. My first visit this week, i found some cutest high end clothes and a pair of cole haan shoes made in italy for only $20. Plus, i saw so many other just as high end pairs also made in italy shoes. I wanted to buy them all but unfortunately, they werent my sizes. The ladies aka volunteers working were ever so helpful. I love consignment/thrift shopping and enjoy going to this store. The ladies have always been great. The last time I took clothing & household items in they gave me a cart & helped me bring in the load. Their prices are rock-bottom and as the staff is all volunteer no salaries are paid out of the proceeds. I always find Calvin Klein jeans, Chico's tops & other name brands. read more
