There is plenty of parking. As you walk in, you can see that this place is cared for. The women's clothing is upfront. The men's clothing is right behind that. The linens could use a bit of organization and that is why they need volunteers to help. There is also a good amount of furniture to check out. Don't forget to stop upstairs and check out the housewares and everything else that is pretty organized as well. I like that they have dressing rooms to try stuff on. This review is for their donation pick up service. I had some furniture, electronics, and kitchen items to donate and stored them in the garage. Called their number to schedule a pick up. They were booked solid and the soonest I could get was three weeks later. Two men came with a big truck and checked what was being donated. They let me know what they were willing to take. Their truck had a power lift which made it easy for them to load up the items. They do great things for the local community. Consider them the next time you have items to donate that are in good condition. read more

The thrift store is pretty chaotic, things are often poorly organized and stacked endlessly, but it's a fun hunt. It does seem like they have way too many clothes for the space. I enjoy the "new items" racks so I don't have to go digging, but there is a lot to dig through if that's for you. Great prices and friendly employees. Love that they have senior discount days as well as regular discount days. A lot of the employees are part of their rehabilitation program to get people out of homelessness and addiction, and they are kind and respectful. I am not christian myself, but aside from the music they play at a contained volume, there is no proselytizing or overly religious messaging. I like that I can bring my dog and they have treats and welcoming employees for her. read more

I don't care how much something is worth on Chairish or Ist Dibs. These are donated items. Items they got for FREE!!! This is my favorite thrift store, always such great finds. Over the years I've found treasure like apothecary cabinets, Betsey Johnson bags, all my converse shoes, and my favorite unique jewelry. I always get compliments on my earrings and brooches, I really love weird jewelry and there's always something to check out. Recently I got this beautiful burnt orange jacket, I collect faux fur vintage jackets so I could not be happier. I've donated quite a few pieces of gently used furniture to them. They were very grateful. They picked everything up from my house.

I recently received a thank-you email from UGM-Portland for a $100 donation I allegedly made 12/7/23. I made no such donation. My bank records show that no donation came out of my account. I don't know if this is some odd accounting error on UGM's part or an extremely unethical attempt at fundraising. I work in philanthropy and know this is clumsy at best and unethical at worst. I've contacted UGM-Portland's executive director, Matt Stein, twice (his name was listed on the letter's electronic signature) -- but he hasn't bothered to answer my inquiries. read more

My family and I overheard 2 employees complain about a phone call asking how to get upstairs if they can't walk up the stairs. The employee asked the caller if he (employee) should put the caller on his shoulder and carry him/her upstairs. Then the employee told the other employee "how is that my problem" and the 2 continued to say disparaging remarks. I immediately put back the items I was going to buy and reported this to the cashier, who just said, "ok". Whether or not I am able to walk up those stairs is irrelevant to me. Easily one of the best thrift stores in the greater Portland metro area (it's in Tigard). First of all- the place is HUGE. I am talking big. It is so well organized and everything is easy to see and find. The selection is incredible. A great mix of new, old, fun, minimal, etc. I could've spent hours in here (oh wait- I did!) The customer service is top notch. Before leaving, I noticed this gorgeous glass/gold case like thing attached to the wall. I really wanted it but realized it was likely their own case/it came with the building. But my father and I asked anyway if they might consider selling. The gals grabbed the person in charge who was more than willing to grab a screwdriver- unscrew it from the wall and sell it to me for an UNBEATABLE price! I spent a while talking to the gals behind the counter and was so impressed with their hospitality and knowledge. I cannot wait to return here and shop again. I was disappointed to see that this thrift store has gone away Value Village and Goodwill and has increased their prices quite a bit. I realize the proceeds go to a good cause, and everything is more expensive these days, but $10 for all adult pants is ridiculous in a thrift store. They had some brands marked even higher, as well as those they were new with tags still on. $13 or $14 for a pair of new Kohl's pants is absolutely insane, at the thrift. I went in here because I donated about four large bags of clothing. I will not be back to shop. read more

This is my favorite thrift store for many reasons and the only thing that could make it better is if they were open past 5:30 pm (because it's close to my work and I only get in about 30 minutes of good shopping each trip). Not only are they an organization that truly helps the needy (most of their workers are in a rehab situation or volunteering for numerous reasons), but their prices haven't gone all "Goodwill" expensive. They have constant sales and in fact, they will often give you an extra good deal at the counter - just to make it an even dollar amount. I found a table that needed a glass top (which had broken when it was dropped off at the store). Because I'd need to purchase glass, they gave me the table for $15. When I came back the next day to get it, they had a large piece of bevelled glass set aside - which they sold to me for $10. To have it cut to size was another $30, but the glass store I had called the evening before had quoted me $160 for glass. These guys saved me $120! If given enough time, you will find absolute treasures here. Often, you just can't pass up a good deal. My biggest mistake was passing up a lawn chair with cushion (like you'd see at a resort) for $20. For some dumb reason, that seemed high, but when I got to Freddie's after that and saw that their cushions (alone) - for smaller chairs - were $50, I knew I had to go back. Unfortunately, someone was smarter than me and bought it before I was able to get back in the next day. That's the last time I "think" about a purchase here. The store is not glamorous (or new and shiny like the Goodwill Supercenters), but I think that the no-frills look is how they can keep their prices so low. Lastly, they will also pick up your donations at home. Which most other thrift stores do not do. read more

They must have marked up their prices at least 75/80%, they have SO much junky stuff and I couldn't find one thing under a dollar, not one! Very sad to see this place so greedy. I will continue at value village across the street the prices are way better there! Used to be the best place that I gladly spent money and even gave extra at times, but now, almost over night, they have become nickel and dimers with a long list of things you can not donate anymore including kids items! A lot of the staff have changed and that has made a big difference....It's very sad that there are no good donation places anymore. This is the best thriftstore I have ever been to and I have been a thriftstore shopper for years. It is huge and the staff are friendly and helpful. They actually have real deals here. Every day there are discounts, every Tuesday seniors like me can get 50% off the entire store! Who does that?! They told me they do 50% off for everyone the first Saturday and the third Thursday of every month. This store has both vintage, contemporary and brand new products. I don't know how they do it but there is something for everyone. It isn't easy to find...but maybe that keeps it the best kept little secret. Outstanding thrift store! They have the best prices I've ever encountered - things are marked at thrift-store-standard but then you take an additional 50% off! My mom got a dress, a skirt, and 2 shirts for $12. Selection was excellent. If you need to set up a new apartment or dorm room entirely from scratch, this is the place to start! Kitchenware, clothes, shoes, books, even dress clothes. Donations are also gladly accepted. Very large thrift store! I was greeted immediately and told everything was half off for Black Friday.. This store had a little bit of everything, a decent selection of clothing, shoes, toys, books, housewares, and furniture. Their prices were super low, so the half price made it dirt cheap. I got a made in Portland vintage sweater dress and a vintage piece of sheet music. I recommend trying this place, you'll probably never know what you will score! read more

An old friend of mine regularly stopped here once a week. She found clothes, furniture, and toys all the time. I started going last winter and I have to say I have gotten some great deals. For instance, I took up golf again this summer. I got a good set of clubs, an almost new bag, and a pull cart FOR $12.50! I paid more for my first green fee with them than they cost. There are some good finds here & less expensive than goodwill! The problem is they don't have dressing rooms -- so any clothes you buy are a gamble -- and they don't take returns. So if you go home, try on your item, and realize it doesn't work...you're out of luck. read more

I picked up a used popcorn popper (for roasting my own coffee) here for five bucks. I you don't mind gospel music blasting in your ears or hordes of old women milling around this place is worth a visit. I drove into the wrong parking lot because the location is kind of weird. It's tucked away behind the teriyaki store on 99W. Just for funzies I checked out their men's clothes. They had really nice button up shirts for five dollars. I also picked up a metal colander (for cooling the roasted coffee beans) for a dollar. The cashier offered me a free travel mug just for coming in. This place is great! read more

Used to be super excited to come in here - great used items for great prices (a nice breath of fresh air from Goodwill and Value Village's expensive junk). Unfortunately my experience has changed. Idk who does the pricing now but it is sadly insane. Think $10 for used and piling QVC brand Sweater, $25 for used Banana Republic pants with a stain (do yourself a favor and go to the outlet for the same price brand new!), $10 for old style (like 1999) Ann Taylor Factory top - all of these are actual things I found today. I would have spent easily $50 more on things I liked if prices hadn't been so ridiculous. Hope they learn from this. read more

I love supporting the Union Gospel Mission. They reach out to the homeless on the streets with food, clothing, socks, blankets and hygiene items. Their life change recovery program is incredible! My absolute favorite thrift store! The prices are unbelievable. I've gotten some major steals there (more than one wool coat for $5, vintage knee high boots for $5, just to mention a few). The clothes section is surprisingly well organized, and the stuff is quite nice and clean. On top of already low prices, they have color coded tags that they have different discounts on (25%, 50%, 75%). I've gotten some of my favorite wardrobe pieces here for mere dollars. I followed their donation rules: no vhs, no holiday items and no toys, waited many days for pick up. Then they show up and give me a new rule: no particle board furniture. I had a nice cabinet and a nice bookcase with no damage whatsoever. My feeling is that the pick up guys simply did not want to move the heavy items. I decided then and there that Value Village will be getting all my other donations, worth in the neighborhood of $500. It irks me that a lady from Newberg has admitted that she "donates" her time shelving the book donations but first sifts through them before they hit the shelves and buys them herself for 25 each, putting them on Amazon to resell. No wonder there are never any new and interesting books on their shelves! The management is aware of this and does not care. read more

This place is awesome! Having spent two years in California prior to moving to the Portland area, I had been deprived of good thrift stores like those I frequented while growing up on the East Coast. Pacific Hwy has 3 thrift stores, this being one of them, within like a 1 mile stretch. You need to check this place out. The first floor has lots of clothing, furniture, and TVs/appliances. Take the stairs up to find books, records, CDs, sports equipment, kitchenware, random knick-knacks, and a room full of glasses and china. The prices are dirt cheap, and you can always find something cool. Of course, as with any thrift store, you can be disappointed if you go looking for something specific. Go and explore and find something you didn't know you needed until you laid eyes on it. The people working there are also super friendly, and the place just has a great vibe. Solid. read more
