I wanted to be realistic and asked if I should cancel and she didn't really say much. I didn't realize Longview had Lyft. I canceled the ride with Uptown and got a Lyft that arrived in 15 minutes. Lots of wasted time, especially after I shared with Uptown that it was an urgent request to go to the hospital. I was looking for a realistic time, not to be strung along. It felt like going into a nail salon and they say it's a 15 min wait-15 minutes later, your'e told another 5 minutes 3 more times so you won't leave....knowing its prob another 30 minutes. The attached photo which is a taxi voucher from St John's Hospital where I had been a patient for 10 days recovering from a severe illness. Linda Main from St Johns as you can see by the time put the call in for a pick up at 3:08pm and was told by the female dispatcher they would pick me up at the ER entrance between 4:00 - 4:15 pm, no problem. The CNA wheeled me downstairs a little before 4pm and at 4:30 I said she might as well get back to her duties that as the ride was prearranged they must be running late and I'd be okay, so she left. Now it's 4:45 pm with no Owl in sight and the hospital security guard was walking by so I asked if he'd call them for me to see what was going on. Thankfully he placed the call on the speakerphone or I might have thought he was exaggerating just a bit with how rude the dispatcher was. She claimed no one from St Johns called her and they never prearrange rides from the hospital and to pick me up I was looking at a wait time of at least another 1 1/2 hrs and then proceeded to hang up on him. Have to say we were both taken aback with how unprofessional the dispatcher was. The guard found Ms Main in her office and she was able to rebook the ride with Uptown taxi using the same voucher. Uptown said 10 - 15 minute wait, acceptable, they made it to pick me up in 10 minutes.

And he crowed about how his business was the reason uptown AND owl taxi shut down (even though both were closed at least 2 weeks before saw Lucky Knights on a search) regardless, competition is healthy for business as it promotes growth.
