Amazing tapas restaurant in Orillia- I cannot say anything bad about this place! I love small dishes and Picnic allows you to try great food. I would say 2 dishes per person are enough. The octopus (not pictured) was good for someone that never tried before and not a big fan of seafood but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was great and provider great recommendations. The restaurant was a good size and provided a great atmosphere. They have deals during the week so keep a look out for that and live music on Sundays in the afternoon. Honestly a great place!

Came here on Mother's day to celebrate my wife as this was the place chosen. Here is what we…read moreordered: Fried Brussel Sprouts - $18 - There's some shaved sprinkled parmesan, bacon. It was tasty, but I find a bit overpriced Sweet Chili Ribs- $21 (5-6 bones or 1lb) - Nice and tender ribs, can't complain except you hope for more. Short Rib Pappardelle- $34 - Really nice portion and generous amount of short rib boneless meat. Pasta was cooked nicely and coated nicely with the sauce Hunter's Half Boneless Chicken- $27 - It says boneless on the menu, but we found a bone from the drunstick attached to half chicken. Comes with veggies and mashed potato. Chicken was cooked nicely. Ube Cheesecake- $16 - Nice different taste profile from traditional Overall the food portion, quality is there, but pricing on some items are a bit high.

Not a lot of great options in the Pickering area yet for foods, but we stumbled across The Social…read moreBar & Lounge. For those who are familiar, this is very similar to Smash Kitchen vibes. Menu is a tad over priced, but I can't deny it tastes good. Not overly salty or oily as bar food often is, and I actually really enjoyed their pasta. It's definitely a great place to go for a bit of a splurgy night with friends where you're prepared to pay $20-40 per person. I like it for a date night to have some heavier foods that I wouldn't want to try cooking at home. The short rib pappardelle was the best. I love the flavour and it's not too crazy heavy, even though it looks really creamy. It has very beef stew type vibes. The chicken wings were well cooked and still moist. I think it was too much flavour going on though. You LOVE the first and even second wing. But by the third one, I felt like it was getting too heavy. I know though that a lot of people love that and can't get enough of it. I personally don't like too much of any one thing. The brussel sprouts I felt the same. It's really yum for the first few bites but it gets really heavy after a while. I think it's really fun to have the appetizers and share a main with someone. The foods are a bit heavier, more of a flavour bomb, but everything is executed well and the staff are really nice! We've even done take out and the portions were very much the same.

It's hard to rate this lovely country Lounge…read more It's mostly due to the fact that SO many changes have occurred overall in the Casino Rama Resort for the last 2 years since September 2017. This Lounge is rarely busy. During the day it's a quiet respite with 4 lovely fireplaces to sit in front and relax. As well it has sofas and comfy chairs for large groups or for just you and your special person. But often those seats are taken by "bus people" who bring in their own food. Take off their shoes and clip their toenails and/or talk loud and/or sleep and snore. When you want Drinks + Snacks it's dependent on if it's day or night, whether it's a show night, a weekend or some other arbitrary reason for closing it. Non show nights but only Friday and Saturday you can order food. But that stops at 10PM. On show nights after a concert is when you do want to kick back with friends in the lounge and relive the concert, talk about the concert, eat and drink. But that's when they cut off food and blare a speaker with insane decibels to draw in a different element. So you wind up going to your room if you're staying overnight. Or just leaving if you just came for the show. So my scoring would be 5 Stars For Service Staff NICK when he's working 5 Stars for Fireplaces and Comfy Chairs 4 Stars for Beer and Wine Prices 3 Stars for Cocktail Prices (about $1.25 too high) 3 Stars for Accessibility 2 Stars for Hours of Operation and Consistency

Returned! To celebrate my daughter's birthday. I have been thinking of taking her here, knowing…read morethat she would enjoy their cocktails. I am glad that we chose this place! Each dish has elevated twist, and the price is so reasonable and even generous for the quality. Cocktails are excellent (lots of line-ups). They also serve nice choices of local craft beers on tap. We ordered: (Food) #Cast Iron Baked Brie fresh baked brie with house-made wild berry compote, candied pecans, prosciutto, garlic crostini $17 : This served as perfect appetizer for 3 of us. Enjoyable. Variety of ways to enjoy the baked brie. #Canadian Striploin 7oz striploin, garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables: We tried different & great steak dish here before, and this one is also EXCELLENT - the on-point seasonings, perfectly med-rare. Roasted veggies and mashed potato leave its own flavour and texture with right amount of seasonings. #Stuffed Mushroom Ravioli stuffed with wild mushrooms, tossed in a beurre blanc sauce, topped with fresh Parmesan: I wished the ravioli itself had more mushroom-forward flavor, and the wrapper had more delicacy (in terms of thickness and texture). However, I loved the beurre Blanc sauce - it was foamy - making the butter-ly and creamy sauce feel light in the mouth. Nice hint of tangy-ness. #Herb Crusted Salmonwith garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables, and beurre blanc sauce: The same sauce as ravioli, that matched with salmon well. (Cocktails) #Fig Fizz: With Durham distillery Gin, Raspberry Liqueur, fig jam, lemon juice, honey syrup, soda # Lavender cosmopolitan # Passion Prosecco Martini # Spicy Hibiscus Margarita All the cocktails were presented beautifully. Today's highlight was Spicy Hibiscus Margarita. (Dessert) Chocolate Espresso Martini Cake rich vanilla cake, mascarpone, house-made chocolate espresso mousse $10: Essentially, tiramisu. lol. Nicely presented. This place is versatile for us. Just for snack, just for cocktails, just for local beer, and elevated food experiences. Promising satisfying experience in each occasion. So blessed to have this place in my neighbourhood.
