I would not recommend this dental office. Before pico Rivera dental smiles, there was dr. Rangnath. For many years I was a patient and remained a patient believing that I would receive the best experience. I had to return approximately 4-5 times to have the same crown corrected because it kept falling off. What made the experience even more frustrating was that it wasn't just the crown--I felt like every time I went in, I was being charged something out of pocket for another procedure or service. After spending so much money, I expected the work to be done correctly the first time. To make matters worse, I am still making payments on the crowns I had done at this office. It's incredibly frustrating to still be paying for dental work that, according to the second opinion I received, wasn't done correctly and now needs to be redone. On top of that, had a filling came off the same week after getting it done. Recently, another filling that was done here came off. I recently went to a different dentist for a second opinion and was told that the two crowns I had done at this office were not done correctly and that another filling needs to be corrected as well. I've never experienced so many issues from one dental office. Between the repeated visits, the ongoing out-of-pocket costs, the fact that I'm still paying for the original crowns, and now learning that multiple restorations need to be redone, I have completely lost confidence in the quality of care I received. My experience here has been horrible. I went to get some work done on my teeth and they gave me a proposal of almost $10,000 saying my insurance didn't cover any of it. I called my insurance the next day and they said no that they do cover certain procedures that I just need to pay a deductible instead of paying full price. They billed me incorrectly. I reached out to get this corrected and just got the run around. I ended up canceling all services with them and decided to go somewhere else. However they still billed me the full amount for services never received and I've tried multiple times to reach out to fix this issue and there's never nobody there to help me. It's very frustrating and a big headache to try to get this cleared from my credit. This was back in October and until this day they still have not given me my refund on this fraudulent charge. read more

Was left a message from the manager Victor to give them a call to speak of what happened in the office after a week of trying to get a hold of him. I finally got him on the phone told him what happened and he just started giving me the runaround. So I came here just for a regular teeth cleaning and ended up having to get my cavities filled. Not surprised! That usually always happens with me no matter how often I floss. Let me start off by saying they took me in within 15 minutes and in my eyes, that's speedy. I've been to other dental offices where it probably took almost the whole hour to be taken to the back. Once I was back there they did the x-rays for my teeth (my least favorite part about dental work) and it was so chill and easy going. Staff were so kind and caring and made you feel at ease. The doctor (Gloria I think - I'm probably gonna get this wrong) was just so great! Her demeanor was really friendly and explained everything as we went through it. Complaint filed with the California Dental Board after nearly a week without a response from the dentist: Initial visit was on 3/16/24, pain felt when tooth 3 cracked while eating. Tooth had a root canal done 3 years prior but still only had a temporary crown. Dentist discovered pain was caused by a broken filling on tooth 2, decided best course was to remove the filing and place crowns on both 2 and 3. During the procedure dentist was surprised 3 was cracked, decided to stay the course. She forcefully removed the broken portion of the tooth and placed temporary crowns on both teeth. I called and reported pain later that day and they said it was normal. Took ibuprofen to manage the pain. On 3/21/24 the pain became unbearable. Called the dentist who told me to come in right away. More x-rays were taken and they discovered an infection on the nerve in tooth 2 that was initially missed. Advised they will remove temp crown and pack the cavity to alleviate the pain and to go to a specialist the next day for a root canal. Tech proceeded to attempt to remove the temp crown but only used a numbing gel for the pain. When this caused intense pain she gave me a numbing rinse and tried again. Only after 10-15 minutes of excruciating pain did she call over someone else to administer pain killer injection. I was left in shock and could not stop trembling for the next few days. Went in for the root canal the next day and the third party specialist discovered another infection in tooth 3. So not only did the original dentist cause extreme pain, but was going to place crowns over two infections. Beware, they take more care trying to upsale products and services than your overall health. read more

This place has scammed me. My experience with this place has been unprofessional and shady. This place will not work with medi-cal insurance even though they promote that they do. They kept telling me over and over again that root canals and crowns do not get covered when in fact they do. It seems like their only objective is to get patients to fall into their trap by paying out of pocket. This place is very expensive too ($1,400 for each a crown and inlay). I recommend trying community clinics with dental providers. There are good dental providers in the LA county area that take medi-cal with no problems. Shalini Shah in my opinion is unethical, dishonest, and lacks quality care. She did not complete proper treatment that I required. I had to find that out the hard way by other means. Shah left me with two incomplete root canal/crown treatments. A partial crown (inlay) was left with half a root canal done, and the other crown required a root canal too, however, that procedure wasn't done, therefore, decay was not treated. Seems like Shah just placed a very expensive crown in my mouth without treating the issue. I am now dealing with additional dental issues because failure to effectively treat decay wasn't performed. It hasn't even been a year that I had those crowns put in, so, this should not be happening. Overall, be very careful with this place. The office managers are the ones who go over treatment plans with patients, but, they all seem to be on the same page as Shah. They seem to be a team of liars. I feel betrayed that I trusted them with my dental health, for them to lie about many things. read more
