PiCold was referred to us by our home warranty. The technicians were amazing, showed up on time, diagnosed and had a solution within 5 minutes of arrival. However, the interaction with the front office has been terrible. Even though they had the diagnosis on Tuesday, the front office did not submit a claim to the insurance company until Friday. Worst part is that I was following up every day for them to submit the claim and was promised every day that it will be done by end of day three days in a row! Once the insurance company approved the warranty claim, now, they are not returning calls as promised and neither are they answering calls! meanwhile its 55 in the house with toddlers and a broken heater all at the mercy of a front office person! read more

After 3-1/2 months of phone calls, numerous service visits, multiple parts paid for and replaced after waiting for weeks while the last part was back ordered, canceled appointment due to my back ordered part being "accidentally" taken by the wrong service repair person. Two young men who were here on one of the previous appointments show up, install the back ordered, delayed part only to tell us that this part still doesn't fix the problem. They then after contacting the main office tell us there is nothing more they can do and they will refund the money we've paid them. I was referred to them by Select Home Warranty. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. After 3+months of waiting and run around I still don't have a working dishwasher. I have never experienced this level of incompetence for what should be a simple diagnostic check and replacement service. read more

Diagnosed my furnace incorrectly, trying to charge me out of pocket over $5600 for labor and upgrades, and trying to get my Home Warranty to buy a new furnace. I had an other licensed HVAC technician come look at the furnace and all I needed was a new thermostat which cost $200 to replace. I was without heat from the end of Dec through Feb. Vendor was difficult to communicate with, poor follow up- as I had to constantly reach out for updates and information. Do NOT recommend, vendor is either incompetent or dishonest. read more

They came out. They were friendly and professional. They repaired the air conditioner and didn't charge a premium for the holiday. I hired from HWA hime warranty and they just inspected my house air conditioner and said not covered and changed $100 each service fees without doing anything. I visited today my property and fixed within 10min. The A/C just got switch issues and they didn't do anything or not willing to do anything. They just want to collect inspection fees. Picold was used through Select Home Warranty. After the first missed appointment a tech arrived & diagnosed our clothes dryer in 2 minutes. After a week, I contacted SHW and found they have never received Picold's report. It's been another week & SHW says Picold has never responded to their calls & are going to send a different company. These companies are starting to suck. read more

I was referred to Cesar by Galvin Appliance in Albany, where he had worked for many years. I phoned to make an appointment to have a freezer door seal replaced, and I had the model and serial number for the refrigerator/freezer. I was told that they could not bring a seal, as they would have to visit and make their own determination as to the problem, before ordering parts, and then schedule another visit. I said ok, and made the appointment a couple of weeks out. They gave me a 3 hour window from 10-1. At almost 1, I phoned to ask if they were coming. The person on the phone said they would check and call me right back. After 15 minutes, and now after 1, I called again and they said they would arrive between 2:30 and 3, and they would call me if there would be any further delay. At 3:02 they called to say the technician was in their truck, heading to my house in Berkeley from Walnut Creek. At 3:55 I phone again to ask where the technician was, and that the drive from Walnut Creek was only 1/2 hour (and I confirmed this on Google Maps to check if there was bad traffic, and there was not). I asked if Cesar was coming, whom I asked for by name when I first phoned, and was told that it was someone else, and they were on their way. I said I no longer had time, having waited since 10 AM at home, and to cancel the appointment. I'm really disappointed as I was told great things about Cesar by the folks at Galvin, but the day was just too frustrating to be able to do business with them. read more

Amazing and quick service! Cesar responded to a request I submitted online for ac repair during our current heat wave (113 degree) after I had called over 30+companies and called my home warranty company; no one was available for over a week. Cesar and his son however were available and arrived within 30 minutes of calling me, immediately knew what the issue was and after disclosing cost they got to work right away and fixed the problem within minutes. Cesar saved the day during a recent heat wave in the East Bay. We have a two month old at home, and our AC randomly stopped working a little after 6 PM on a weekday. I didn't think we had a chance of getting anyone to stop by on the same day, let alone fix the problem. Excellent courteous service! Our very old AC unit stopped working and because of its age, I was fearing the worst. Picold arrived within a few hours of placing a service call (and during a heat wave). Diagnosed the problem and returned the next day with the needed part. The AC was back up and running in no time!
