We were visiting Pictured Rocks and just happened to drive by this place. Pizza is made right in front of you in a very impressive wood fired oven. Staff obviously takes pride in opening this place just this summer. Great outdoor seating with a covered shelter if the temperature is good. My best friend and I got a custom pizza made with a flat bread type doe, sweat tomato basil sauce with lots of fresh toppings including mushrooms, ham, bacon, pineapple and cheese. It's was ready in minutes and loaded with topping. Very good. read more

This was a great pizza! They make it in front of you, and you can see the ovens from the counter. We ordered the Mediterranean. It was a new take on a Mediterranean with prosciutto and a cream sauce, but the ingredient combinations worked out well. The pies aren't huge (11 inches), but one is enough for two people. Yum! Listen, I'm Italian and I'm from Chicago, so I'm a hard critic when it comes to pizza and this place does not disappoint!! I was super impressed! They make you pizza to order right in front of you. You get to see them sprinkle on a variety of fresh toppings and then pop into a huge pizza oven. The need for dinner before leaving town prompted my husband and I to call in our order while hiking back from Chapel Falls. When we got to the restaurant the pizza was done and hot. I don't know if it was just the pizza, or the fact that we had taken the 9 mile hike accidentally (should have been 6), but we absolutely loved this pizza. Everything about it said "fresh". Stopped here after catching a later boat cruise, as it was one of the only places open. Came in 15 minutes to close (which I hate doing, but they still had quite a few patrons inside). It's a Subway style pizza joint and the whole set up is kind of confusing. We waited a handful of minutes for the couple before us to order before realizing they were just waiting for their food. Nobody ever offered to help us, so we didn't know. Kid running the cashier was a total space cadet. Asked if we wanted to order a pizza. We said yes, and then another kid at the other end of the counter asked what we wanted on it. So we're simultaneously giving our order to two different people. Got a small salad which was in the cooler in the lobby. Alledgedly had just been made. No date sticker, but a few pieces of the lettuce looked rotten. It came with "garlic bread" which really just looked like one of those loaves you get from outback. There was no garlic or anything ON it, but it tasted as if a copious amount was baked INTO it. It was almost too much for me to handle, and I LOVE garlic. Asked if we were sitting inside or outside (even though there were no free tables inside). They brought the pizza out to us and it was beyond lackluster. No real flavor whatsoever (we got the BBQ Chicken one) and the toppings just landslides off as soon as you pick it up. The thin crust was nice, but again, had no flavor. They do have some interesting yard games outside, and the location/building is very nice. The people working there and food really taint the atmosphere, though. Two stars for having The Incredibles cutouts outside and for not getting food poisioning, which is miraculous considering I saw several staff going in and out with trash bags and getting supplies with their food service gloves on... read more

My daughter and I had been mountain biking at Valley Spur and then went to Munising to get dinner. We ended up getting pizza at Pictured Rocks Pizza. It was very good! I ordered a veggie pizza and added sausage; LOTS of toppings! I was thinking of ordering a salad too because they looked nice in the cooler, but I had plenty to eat with the pizza. Amaaaazing pizza! We stopped in per Yelp reviewers and they were spot on. The crust is perfection. Choose your sauces, style, toppings, or go with one of their specialty pizzas. We would actually drive awhile for this treat. Dine inside or outside. Both areas are modern, clean, airy, and nicely decorated. You feel like you're in a coastal beach town. Stopped by for lunch. I don't think it was quite a five star yet but getting really close. The personality of the people working there was so great. Excellent pizza! We tried the 'miners beach' and it had all of the right toppings. Pepperoni, fennel sausage (delish!!) ham, jalapeños and pineapple. The sweetness of the pineapple off set the heat of the peppers and we both loved the sausage. Congrats to the owners on a job well done. Exactly what we were looking for. You have them make the pizza (fast casual style) so you can add exactly what you want before it goes in the oven. My wife likes a very small amount of cheese and it was very easy to get it how she likes because they make it in front of you. Awesome pizza, and super cute place! We're just in town for a couple days, and are so glad our hotel recommended them! We definitely recommend the Mediterranean pizza - fresh ingredients, thin crust, and only took a few minutes to bake (they have a fancy oven)! There was not much seating indoors, but they had really nice outdoor seating under a pergola. Hopefully they can add beer/wine to the menu in the future. read more

Pizza. It's just one of those foods that always tastes good. And this place doesn't disappoint. After coming to Munising for the famed Pictured Rocks boat tour, my group stopped here for dinner. The place is quaint, with an outdoor and indoor eating area. On this specific evening, it was pretty cool outside, so everyone was huddled inside. Fortunately, my group got one of four tables but others weren't so lucky. So more indoor space would probably be useful for this thriving business. Regarding the food itself, I was very intrigued by the pizza making process. A worker asks you for your order and makes your pizzas on the spot (a Subway-like concept). He/she then throws them in the oven. Meanwhile, answer person rings up your order so you can pay. A very efficient process. These guys were prepping the pies 10 at a time when we were there. Regarding the pizza itself, very good w/ fresh ingredients. We had the Pictured Rocks special (deluxe) and meat pizza. I wouldn't say this was the best pizza I've ever had, but definitely noteworthy for Munising and the surrounding area. Recommended. read more
