We took our 500 photos to Picturli last weekend and the visit was incredibly interesting... i had no idea they had so many available options to organize my photos.. the owner of Picturli Haleh Shoa greeting me at the door upon arrival and was so welcoming.. Unfortunately, this was a rough experience for us. Her heart may be in the right place and you can tell that she really loves what she does and knows how to do it! But for now, the billing is not (in the right place). I did not feel that we communicated well in regard to the hundreds of pounds of photos and albums that I needed organized. Terms like "re-batching", "analog", "it's all done and complete" confused me. Words like "I know I said 20k but might be more like 30k" felt flippant and made me realize that her value of the dollar was different than my own. She did successfully convert all of my old digital media (vhs, dvds, cds, slides, thumb drives) onto a thumb drive organized by year! Amazing! That was what our $15,800 was worth. The other tangible photos and albums (what Haleh calls 'analog') needed more time and money than we were willing to spend in order to have them organized by year and placed in boxes to go under our coffee table (we did not want those to be scanned). In my opinion, if the analog portion of the job were a project-based fee (measured by weight possibly), we could have gotten there. As it is, you pay $125-175/hour plus the fee for each scanned item. The idea in the contract that you can stop at any time, is ludicrous and degrades the company. It came back in a maddening mess. If we could have communicated, I wouldn't be writing this. read more

I went to a local big box store to have my wedding tapes digitized. On our anniversary we decided to watch the dvds and realized they were worthless and unwatchable. Haleh intuited the energy and personalities of my ancestors from a jumbled, dusty collection of boxes of photos and documents dating back to the late 1800's. I had 11 old VHS tapes and had no idea what was on them other than a video of my son being on stage in Branson Missouri 25 years ago, and I thought that one was broken. So, I hired Picturli to digitize them for me and there were so many treasures on there. All of our clips were beautifully edited to each date and they even provided them to us on our own client portal, where we can share with family members and download anytime we want.
