Always a must stop by spot on the way home from flagstaff. The pies here are made fresh daily and are so good. It's nice you can choose between slices, halves and whole pies so you can either grab a full one or try a few slices of different flavors. Lots of parking too since the cafe next door keeps busy as well.

We always make a stop at Rock Springs on our way back from Flagstaff or Sedona. It has become a tradition for our family and honestly, we are obsessed with their pies. The Key Lime Pie is one of our absolute favorites and the Jack Daniel's Pecan Pie is incredible too. Both are worth the drive alone. For years we would squeeze into the main building just to grab a pie to go, so the Pie Box is such a great addition. Now it's quick and easy to just grab your pie, pay, and head out. Every once in a while we'll grab a slice and let the kids sit and eat there, but most of the time we take home a whole pie because they're just that good. Rock Springs is an Arizona staple. It's historic, iconic, and a must stop if you're traveling through the area. Whether you're a local or just passing through, don't skip the pie!

Stopped in for some sugar free chocolate fudge for me,. Tiramisu for my dad and a Lemon Meringue Pie for a friend. I always stop here to satisfy my sweet tooth and take in the scenery. Behind the Pie Box there is a little sitting area by a waterfall and some walking paths. Dogs are allowed there. Friendly and attentive staff.

What an awesome and weird spot for cream pies in the middle of nowhere. There is a gas station, restaurant, small gift shop and pie. (There is also an antique shop closed Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday) Pies ran about 6.95 each which seems high but very well done. We got key lime and coconut cream and we devoured the slices on site in the small air conditioned area. There is a larger outside seating area. Restrooms at the gas station are a better choice than the portapotty outside. If you need sugar and a leg stretch perfect spot.

Don't miss this spot right off the highway. The pies are seriously some of the best you'll ever have. Grab one to enjoy now, and definitely take a few home for later.

Charming country spot with onsite bakery where you can grab a coffee and a slice of pie to enjoy in the enclosed patio or togo. Whole pies also available togo. Enter the pie raffle while you are there. Room temp racks and cold storage cases for all types of pie from cream to apple.

Man these pies look so good I forgot to take a picture. The KEY LIME. Thats all I got to say about that! Kidding...... it's the best pie I've ever had. I didn't even know I'd eat key lime, but I'm addicted The Jack Daniel's Pecan is the best pecan pie I've had My Dad is addicted to the blueberry crumb The carrot cake- trying that later today but the gals swear it's so good I better get 2..... that is by the slice. $8.45 a slice better be good lol You get a free Rock Springs pie cutter/server knife when you buy 3 pies! We bought 4 pies today and 2 slices of cake

I love this place. Their pies, their jars of preserves and honey. And above all their sticky buns are my favorite things.

Best Pie in the State of Arizona!! Banana Cream was so creamy and delicious Tennessee Lemon... I had to try it. So good. Just think lemon bar and lemon pie made a baby The Pecan Pie was so great I couldn't take the picture The property grounds are well kept

The Pie Box is a hidden gem located in Black Canyon. The parking lot is a bit tight, so be prepared for that. There is plenty of seating inside and there are some tables outside with a great view. The service was great, the cashier was extremely nice. The Pie Box offers a lot of selections from cream pies to crumble. I got a slice of the Coconut Cream Pie, it was well balanced. It wasn't too sweet and even though it was a cream pie it wasn't heavy at all. The coconut taste was prominent and there was toasted coconut pieces throughout the pie. If you are a coconut lover you will love this pie, I sure did! The other people in my group got a slice of the apple crumble and the key lime pie and I got to try both. The apple crumble was delicious, I am not usually into crumbles but this one had a good ratio of crumble to apple filling. The key lime pie was also good, it was a nice delicate pie packed full of flavor.

A wide spot in the middle of nowhere with rustic charm...traveling through the area and was hoping to get several pieces of pie of different flavors, but due to Thanksgiving week they only sell whole pies. The list of pie flavors is a page long but by 4pm there wasn't much to choose from and that's understandable. So we ended up with a rhubarb pie for $29. Most other folks bought 2 or 3 pies. It's not a restaurant. It's a manufacturer of pies. It's quite an impressive operation. Staff is neither friendly or helpful, we had to figure things out by ourselves. They just ring up one customer after other. As for the pie we'be got, it's average 6.5 out of 10. It's the novelty that makes it attractive.

We waited in line for almost 30 minutes and it was worth the wait! The menu is organized by most popular pie - we got the Mountain Man and the Chicken Pot Pie for savory and the Apple Dulce de Leche and Pecan Pie for sweet. The outside is the empanadas were perfectly cooked and butter dough. Th fillings were cooked perfectly. I liked the seating area around the shop and appreciated the clean bathrooms!

The Pie Box is a convenient stop on the way home to Phoenix from Flagstaff. I got a slice of chocolate cream pie and it tasted good but the price is a little on the high end and some of the slices seem like mainly whipped cream. They have a decent selection of desserts to choose from and there's ample covered patio seating with cute flowers on the tables. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and wasn't the friendliest.

They open at 9am and when we arrived at 910 there was already a line. I guess thats pretty common here though, and it does move fast. The stand itself is fun and painted bright yellow and red. I love the big Salvador Dali face. The empanadas are already made, so once you order, they hand you the food and you're on your way. Lots of outdoor seating options and restrooms are available too. The parking lot is small, so have a back up plan if there isn't parking available. My husband and choose five different empanadas to share. They also offer a wide selection of to go beverages including cider, coffee, tea, boba tea. I choose a canned caramel latte. We tried the Bar-B-Que Pork, Mountain Baby, Mountain Man, Apple and Strawberry Rhubarb empanadas. My favorite was the Mountain Baby, which came with Mac and cheese and bacon. The Mountain Man was also delicious. The strawberry rhubarb was amazing too, but I think that one is a seasonal special. They also offer dipping sauces. We ordered the Chipotle Lime Aioli and the Spicy chimichurri which was actually spicy according to my husband. I thought the empanadas were fine without the sauces though. So good. 10/10. Please go support PIEbar.

We ordered the Spicy Beef Picadillo, Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Pot Pie, and Strawberry Rhubarb. The Spicy Beef Picadillo was definitely my favorite. It had amazing flavor with a really nice kick of spice, and it was so good with the chimichurri. The Buffalo Chicken was decent and had good flavor, although it was a little salty. I paired it with the chipotle lime aioli, which made it even saltier. I'd recommend going with the ranch instead, although that part is definitely on me! The Chicken Pot Pie was probably my least favorite. It wasn't bad, but I found it a little bland compared to the others. For dessert, we tried the Strawberry Rhubarb, which I really liked. I especially appreciated that you could actually taste the rhubarb rather than it just tasting like strawberry. I would have loved a little more filling, though. The prices are fair, and everyone working there was lovely and welcoming. Overall, good empanadas with some really stand-out flavors. I'd definitely come back to try more, especially the Spicy Beef Picadillo!

Limited selection compared to bigger bakeries. But here's the thing. What they do have is exactly what you want. No filler, no wasted space, just a tight lineup of pastries that are actually worth buying. We've gone in more than once thinking, "Alright, one pastry each, quick stop." That plan never survives contact with the display case. You start pointing things out, adding one more, then another, and suddenly you're walking out with a full box. My go-to is the Bavarian cream pastry. It's perfect. Not overly sweet, not heavy, just balanced and done right. It's the kind of thing you finish and immediately think about grabbing another. The pricing almost feels like a mistake in your favor. On our last visit, we bought enough pastries for ten people, with extras left over, and it came out to just under $20. Back near our place in Rhode Island, that same box would easily be double. Probably more. Here, it feels like you're getting away with something. And then there's the service. The woman we usually see there is genuinely kind. Not forced, not transactional. Just warm, welcoming, and happy to see people walk in the door. It adds to the whole experience in a way that's hard to fake. This place doesn't try to impress you. It just quietly delivers every time you show up. If you're anywhere near Cottonwood, stop in. You'll go in for one thing and leave with more, and you won't regret it.
