Our annual visit to Jerome and to the Flatiron did not disappoint!…read more I love this place! Small but bustling, with a chill environment. Our little secret is, the day before, we have a nice chat with the owner and magically the next day, I have the most perfect scone of my flavor! The owner has a no nonsense attitude that matches this quaint shop on the corner of this little town. Every time I go to Jerome, I go here. Because it's simply perfection.

My cousin and I were lucky enough to swoop right in before the kitchen closed. We shared a grilled and cheese sandwich ($10.75) + ($4.50 for the ham). To be honest, I felt a little impatient waiting for our sandwich because given the space and kitchen, I just expected a simple grilled ham & cheese situation. Instead, out came the most glorious grilled ham and cheese I have ever encountered. It was beautifully crafted - 2 types of melty cheese (cheddar + havarti), a thick slice of honey ham, topped with fresh spinach all sandwiched between two toasted slices of garlic butter-ed whole grain bread. It was unexpectedly gourmet and a perfect treat after trekking up and down the hills of Jerome. I'm pretty sure I met Chad during our quick meal. He's nice. And Flatiron is the perfect pit stop.

A Hidden Gem in Clarkdale!…read more This little coffee shop tucked inside an old caboose train is one of the most charming and delicious spots we've ever discovered. The authenticity of the food is beyond amazing--every single thing we've tried has been packed with flavor and made with so much care. We make it a point to come here every time we're in town, and it never disappoints. Yes, the line can get long, but that's always a good sign--and trust me, it's totally worth the wait. There's something so special about this hole-in-the-wall gem. It has the kind of character and warmth you just can't replicate. We love Violettes!! We ate our food too fast so no pics of the food! Our favorites are the spinach quiche and the cinnamon roll on Thurs/Sat. :) I love this place deeply and truly hope it sticks around for a very, very, very, very long time--because I plan to retire here one day, and this caboose café is a part of that dream!

Fortunately they weren't too expensive ($15 for a sandwich and pastry) but would be nice to have the prices listed. The sandwich was alright, though I wasn't the biggest fan of the turkey. The pastry was also alright, but I would probably pass on it if I came again. Service was good and the dining area is pleasant. The line can be a bit long but overall I had a good experience.

Recently, however, we discovered this hidden gem in the downtown area. The sandwiches are huge, delicious, and leave you wanting to come back for more. Everything we've tried has been outstanding. The sourdough bread is enough to come in for...and then there are the sandwiches and salads and sweets. There are many varieties of bread, I personally opt for the Artisan. It's sliced which I love, and even homemade it has strong shelf life! The only sandwich I get when I come here is the Chicken Basil Focaccia. It's two meals for me as it is massive. Lots of sliced chicken, lovely fresh basil and an amazing aeoli. Served with either chips or a side salad. The focaccia is out of the world...light and airy and full of flavor! To be honest I've never ordered the pastries or cinnamon rolls but they look absolutely amazing and people rave about them! Hours are funky so check before coming out...I've been disappointed before, lol. Interior seating available and to-go options offered as well. I'm a proponent of supporting small business and this is a great one.

We arrived around 3:45 for an early dinner and were told it would be about a 45‑minute wait. Thankfully, they added us to a text waitlist so we could wander the nearby shops, as long as we returned within 10 minutes of getting the notification. Sure enough, 45 minutes later our table was ready. Inside, the restaurant leans into Halloween décor, with TVs showing sports and very loud music. Any chance of a spooky atmosphere was pretty much drowned out by the noise. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and kept our drinks filled, which was a highlight. I ordered the Haunted Burger (medium), but it arrived well‑done and extremely greasy. Definitely not one of the better burgers I've had. Overall, Haunted Hamburger is an okay spot if you're already in Jerome and want a casual meal. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, and if I'm back in Jerome, I'd probably try a different restaurant. Also worth noting: there's no parking close by, so be prepared to climb stairs or use their shuttle.

Limited selection compared to bigger bakeries. But here's the thing. What they do have is exactly what you want. No filler, no wasted space, just a tight lineup of pastries that are actually worth buying. We've gone in more than once thinking, "Alright, one pastry each, quick stop." That plan never survives contact with the display case. You start pointing things out, adding one more, then another, and suddenly you're walking out with a full box. My go-to is the Bavarian cream pastry. It's perfect. Not overly sweet, not heavy, just balanced and done right. It's the kind of thing you finish and immediately think about grabbing another. The pricing almost feels like a mistake in your favor. On our last visit, we bought enough pastries for ten people, with extras left over, and it came out to just under $20. Back near our place in Rhode Island, that same box would easily be double. Probably more. Here, it feels like you're getting away with something. And then there's the service. The woman we usually see there is genuinely kind. Not forced, not transactional. Just warm, welcoming, and happy to see people walk in the door. It adds to the whole experience in a way that's hard to fake. This place doesn't try to impress you. It just quietly delivers every time you show up. If you're anywhere near Cottonwood, stop in. You'll go in for one thing and leave with more, and you won't regret it.

Our first morning, we had Todd, who was very attentive and took good care of us. We had the coffee, muffin, one pancake and a breakfast sandwich with bacon and the fruit skewer, along and a mocha. Everything was very good. We were pleasantly surprised how good the pancake was as my husband is very fussy about his pancakes. I was worried the bacon would have a spicy cake, but the cake is very minimal. The bacon was delicious! Our second day was not as good of an experience as we had a younger server who was not at the level of Todd. We laid our vouchers on the side of the table, just as we had done the day before, and this he completely missed them and brought our bill with full charges. Therefore, he had to go back and redo the bill. He didn't seem fully awake. LOL. He also was not as friendly as Todd. Next time we go, we will ask for Todd. This time, we got the latte and muffin, and also shared the traditional breakfast with bacon and fruit. It was perfect for splitting.. we will definitely come back again next time we are in town. This is a really cute café.
