Gym, tan, laundry, pizza! We had been to their Carol Stream location, and while driving around the south burbs we decided to come to this one for a quick dinner. Tonight we learned the Carol Stream one had closed, and ownership here was changing hands, but the new owners don't intend to mess with a good thing. We're not super familiar with Jersey style pizza, but it is nice being able to get really nice pizza by the slice. We tried the pepperoni, the sausage, the three sauce (with vodka sauce and pesto), and the white pizza (with garlic and ricotta). All were great, and surprisingly my preschooler's favorite was the three sauce (which I think is also mine), while my wife liked the white pizza. The slices are huge with a good crisp undercarriage, and lots of flavorful sauce on top. The service we experienced at both locations were top notch as well. To top it off, when we came here, there was a table with a couple people who looked straight out of Jersey (at least from my limited knowledge), and they were big fans as well. I had a curving for some pizza; of course i was going to do the traditional Chicago pizza but nothing in the area got my attention but this place did. Looked at some of the reviews and say "why not"! Right before i entered - i saw couple with large pizza box and asked for recommendation; their reply was "the white pizza". Ugh they were sold out!!! I didn't want to get one thing because they had a variety of option; please note they aren't cheap but one slice is basically two slices. Lol! Everyone (owner/staff) were friendly - no line. If i was local i would come back. Side note - i loved the fact the owner display artwork; not sure if they are all local but they were beautiful and like the fact he was sharing other people pieces. My boyfriend and I stopped by here to try pizza after a friend raved about this place, so we finally decided to give it a shot! The owner was super inviting as soon as we walked in, and even explained all the different options. As for the pizza... The few slices we had were reheated (barely) and we're not sure if maybe the pizza we had was sitting out for a bit & lost its flavor? But we were not the biggest fan of any of the pizzas except for the vodka sauce and pesto one. The pepperoni tasted like it was hours old & barely had any cheese on it. The garlic pizza was not good. Honestly we were pretty disappointed especially seeing the reviews online. We've definitely had better pizza but we were happy we at least gave it a shot. It's been nothing but a great experience and the food is absolutely out of this world. this time I tried the vodka sauce Sicilian style which I typically don't eat just plain cheese pizza but with this pizza i genuinely wish the slice never ran out! I Also had the pepperoni slice they all had incredible flavors and an incredible crunch to the dough. Definitely my new go to spot read more

We were there on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty busy with a few people dining in. We ordered several of slices to try. We ordered the buffalo chicken, bbq chicken, Sicilian style, and garlic white. I tried the garlic one and Sicilian style. They were so hot and fresh. The garlic white was very tasty full of garlic taste. You can pull the cheese out from the pizza. The Sicilian style was also very good with just the right amount of cheese and tomato sauce. Inside the restaurant is pretty simple with a few tables to dine in. You just order from the counter and you can just sit and dine in. The staff and owner are very nice and friendly. I would definitely come back again to get their garlic white and other flavors. read more

They are back! My favorite thin pizza EVER has returned to Glen Ellyn in a new location after 4 yrs away. Pie Life is run by Joe and his family which once owned Orno's on Butterfield. The pizza is flavorful, comes with specialities to die for and the owners are the friendliest people. I am so glad they advertised their Jersey roots to grab my attention. So, I've been a follower of Joe and his NJ style pizza since they were located at the Slice Spot in West Chicago. It was a bit out of the way for me. I'm happy that he returned and his new restaurant is a lot closer to me. It's located in a much busier spot than before but I'm elated that he's getting constant business. You'll find parking on the side and possibly the back. Inside, there are about 6 tables that you can sit at and eat. Seating will be very limited at peak hours. You can either get pizza by the slice or get the whole pizza. Prices are cheap and reasonable. Service was great. The staff treats you like family. We decided to get several slices to try. We got buffalo chicken, BBQ chicken, Sicilian style, and garlic white. The pizzas came out hot and fresh. When you first bite into any of them, you'll get this delicious, crispy crunch along with the sauce. That'll be the first thing you notice. What follows are more tasty, flavorful bites until you finish the slice. You're never chewing on the pizza that long either, it's just a little chew. The garlic white has a nice cheese pull when you take a bite and you can smell/taste the garlic. Definitely not subtle. The chicken on both of the BBQ and buffalo chicken pizzas are perfectly cooked. The Sicilian style is a giant square shape but it packs a punch. By that, I mean you have a lot of flavors coming together and dancing the night away on your tastebuds. Highly recommend dining in and eating the pizza while it's fresh. read more

This tiny corner restaurant serves New Jersey-style pizza, which appears to be similar to New York (giant slices you'd have to fold to eat). This is mostly slices though you can order a whole pie. Crust options are Sicilian (chewy focaccia-type) or thin crust. Plenty of vegetarian choices (anything without sausage or pepperoni on it) - they had probably 8 choices and only 2 had meat. I highly recommend the multi-sauce slices, which feature red sauce / tomato cream sauce and garlic sauce, both delicious. I'm not a fan of white pizzas, but the garlic sauce is pungent and very tasty. The Margherita was a bit bland, but the cheese pizza could be a perfect guilty pleasure. Definitely best heated up, which they'll happily do for you in their pizza oven, though 10 minutes at 400F at home did the trick too. Service is friendly but busy as they're probably taking delivery orders while they take yours. 4 or 5 tables fill the small space, with coloring books/crayons for the kiddies. $18 for 3 big slices. The family decided to grab a few slices since this spot was only a few miles away for our hotel. We're so glad we did. The pizza was amazing, the owner Joe was even better. We had 6 different slices and they were all great. The vodka sauce on the Detroit style was flavorful, the buffalo chicken was perfect spice for a pie, the pep and sausage had great tasting sausage that even my daughter liked (she normally picks off the sausage and gives to me), the margherita was classic. Walked over for lunch a couple months ago, before it was really cold. The pizzas are great - very creative and very well done! For lunch, the owner takes a piece and reheats in their pizza over, which works very well! I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza tasted, and hope to try a pizza made to order. The prices are a bit steep, but the quality should make up for it. It seemed like they were still honing their processes, especially for payment, but definitely a pizza worth trying! read more

We were excited to try Pie Life, but the pizzas were very disappointing. Pizza was barely hot and didn't have much flavor. Not sure if the pizzas were precooked, but it seemed as if the pizzas were sitting there for a while, similar to a grocery store. Our family prefers other pizzerias in the area. read more

Now THIS is pizza! Pie Life makes a great New York-style (though they call it New Jersey-style) pizza that is absolutely delicious! Ever since moving from NYC we've been on the hunt for a great NYC-style pie. This place has it! The pizza is big, the triangle-cut slices are foldable, and the toppings/sauce/crust ratio is on point! We had a standard sausage pizza and they nailed it - outstanding! However, I will say that we found the (online) ordering (via Facebook) a bit cumbersome but everything else was aces. And as with any of the non-chain pizza places around you'll find the prices a bit higher than they should be. Neither should dissuade you from giving them a try though. Finally, after searching long and hard, we have found our NYC-style pizza joint. And it's right around the corner from home. Yes! We can't wait to get another pie into our pie holes! (Interesting Note: this same spot used to be a Greek food place, then it was a pita place, now it's pizza... gotta hand it to them for being nimble, I suppose!) read more

This new spot for New Jersey-style pizza popped up, and I figured it was the same owner as the former NJ-style pizza that was in Glen Ellyn and most recently in West Chicago. This pizza is good and has been good at every location. The owner and staff are super friendly. It is a nice little place for picking up pizza and they have a few tables if you want to dine in. We did takeout with a 20" half sausage and half Margherita pizza. We also set a record for how fast my family crushed it. I won't get into the argument that Chicago style is better. Never disappoints! Got the munchies about 8 o'clock, so drove over for a slice. Had to get two because they all look so good ... my first time having the grandmas with vodka sauce and it was really really good. Always tapping the white garlic, of course.
