Just went there for the 1st time last nite-- it's in the neighborhood and I've been meaning to check it so I did. I got there around 7p on a Friday nite. Ok, so many different moving parts here: -the place was not packed when I arrived- so I grabbed a seat at the bar solo and bonus-there are outlets under the bar to charge your smartphones :) service is friendly and attentive and I feel they over-staffed since they are new. Before my food came, I got silverware- but the knife was dirty- like one side had stuff stuck on it, but when I asked to replace it- I guess the waitress only looked at the side with spots. I'm not that picky, but if my knife is dirty-- it just is.. so she replaced it and we were good to go. Here's the issue-- it took about 45min to get my one pizza since they got slammed w a take-away order before me...and 1 of the ovens was broken??? This is a Friday nite. Not good. However, my pizza was good when it finally got to me- dough is thin and sauce is great! I ordered the salumi- but was not a fan of the sausage- like it was too "smooth" and the pieces I think were huge considering the thinness of the crust, etc. if it was cut smaller or more crumbly think it'd be better. Anywho, I also ordered the mule w muddled blackberry and raspberry- that was a winner too! And to top off the nite- my food was "mysteriously comped". One of the waiters never told me if it was mgmt or a patron- but either way- merry Xmas to me! I'll be back, and maybe with friends...as long as the oven is working! Amazing food! Get the hummus as an appetizer. Love the arugula pizza with prosciutto. Get the chocolate cake! It is heavenly! Eat outside!

The dough in the pizza and the puff bread was a little on the salty/sweet side for me, but it was not bad. The topping on the pizza (pepperoni, bacon, salami) was excellent. Great spot to get a quick pizza -- they make everything from scratch and were able to accommodate my girlfriend's dietary restrictions without issue. My friends and I were looking forward to trying this place out on Saturday evening and walked over around 6:30 PM! I would like to start off this review by explaining that I worked in the industry for 10 years and also started off as a hostess. The hosts told us that we could either sit outside (or was 105 degrees) or wait. We said we would grab drinks at the bar and wait for the table and I had to remind them to take my name and information down as they rolled their eyes at one another? I asked if they could please give me an estimate of a time frame we would be waiting for and they laughed and said no. Not only were they incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful, they were immature and rude. The manager could tell that something awkward was happening and walked over to chime in and ends up explaining that we should expect to wait until 9 PM for a table and I walked over to my friends to tell them how long the wait could be. As I am telling them, I can literally hear the manager and two hosts talking badly about me? I let them know I could hear them and to grow up. We would have happily waited at the bar with drinks and appetizers but the entire interaction between us and the hosts was unpleasant and unnecessary. Rolling your eyes and having an attitude is ridiculous! Needless to say, we will not be returning :) read more

Worst service ever. I waited over 45 minutes for a pizza I called in. The hostess kept saying it's coming it's coming but never did! They finally bring me my pizza and take my card. Kept seeing Instagram ads for Pie tap because I live near by so my friends and I decided to try it out last night. For only being open for 5 days, they were so busy! The restaurant itself was very cute and had a great ambiance. Our waiter was a little clueless and took awhile but it's understandable since it's a brand new restaurant. We started off with a bottle of Malbec that we really enjoyed. Then We ordered the Spiedini as an appetizer which was cooked prosciutto wrapped cheese and arugula.. it was delicious but only came with two kabobs! We also got the Sweet salad which was good. Then we got the sausage pizza and it was PHENOMENAL!! I'm a pizza fanatic and I highly recommend it. The crust was cooked perfectly and the cheese was great. We tried all 3 of the pizza dipping sauces and the marinara sauce went great with it and my friend really liked the ranch sauce. The couple next to us got the chocolate cake as dessert and it looked really good but we were too full to order dessert. Overall I think this place will do great and I want to try everything on the menu so I would definitely go back! (Just not if I was in a rush!) read more

We had a 7:15 reservation for the patio. When we arrived, there was a giant storm with cloud to ground lighting looming. They had no Plan B and told us it would be a long wait. I persisted that surely they had an alternative plan in place for reservations on the patio in place. The hostess offered a place at their pizza bar that she admitted was loud and where the to-go orders were picked up so slightly disruptive. Not really an upsell. We agreed to give it a shot on the patio over being disrupted every few minutes. We were told our server was just served a larger table inside and it would be a minute. No fault of her own, it was many. And it appeared she wasn't overjoyed that she had yet another table. Remember we had reservations? Another party with parents and 3 kids arrived and were seated at the only other table under cover. Suddenly the hostess came out and told them she meant for them to have a different table... that was completely filthy and not under cover because she said someone specifically reserved the table they were on currently. Really? Meanwhile we ordered a Caesar and the prosciutto wrapped fontina appetizer. That's when the flies descended. DISGUSTING. We were literally assaulted. Meanwhile the Caesar was overly doused in lemon and I almost choked on wads of gooey cheese that would have been better served smeared over toast than with arugula. We requested they move us inside so we could eat our food without waving napkins non stop to fend our food from the swarm of tame flies. They moved us inside. To the bar. With our 9 and 7 year old. Our kids watched with mouths dropped open while the couple next to us...because we were in the bar...literally fought over infidelity and yelled at each other. Pizza arrived. My gluten friendly Prosciutto pizza made my jaw hurt to chew and was sweet enough for dessert. My husband's regular pepperoni, Which arrived well after mine, may have been better if had not been over shadowed with the crappy service so we give it fair on it's best day. The "bones dipping sauce" of goat cheese fondue (zero flavor and definitely not of goat cheese) and ranch (which was oddly heavy on the dill of all things) were a definite thumbs down. We opted to have them pack the pizza up hoping our teenagers at home were brave enough to finish them and we decided to get the hell out of there. All in, $140 with tip for bad service, sub par food, and total inconvenience. Oh and the table that was so coveted by a special reservation that the family of 5 had to sit out in the potential rain? Still open when we left and so was the table where the family of 5 were reseated no doubt having bailed on their dinner plans as well. Our synopsis? One and DONE on that place. Pie Tap is quickly become our favorite pizza and pasta destination / take out option. If you decide to eat in you will not be let down on the design and overall feel of the restaurant. They did a fantastic job at both of their locations. The pizza is light and airy with very fresh ingredients. The pastas are all home made and have really impressed me. I grew up in NY having great pizza and pasta my entire life and I can honesty say Pie Tap is on par with the best from back home. Our favorites are the meatball and spedini app's the bolognese pasta and pretty much all of the pizzas. The work shop salad is great for sharing. read more
