As a New Jersey native and self-proclaimed pizza snob, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the well made and cooked pizzas. The margherita pizza in my opinion was a standout. 4 years ago my husband and I lived 5 minutes from pie tap and would go once a week. We would always order the rosemary lemonade and prosciutto pizza. It was phenomenal. The quality and taste has changed drastically. Tonight there was 1/2 of one single pistachio on my entire pizza (I wish I was kidding). There was one single date (if that) on my entire pizza. The majority of what you get is crust and arugula. The rosemary lemonade no longer tastes like rosemary. It used to have such a distinct incredible flavor. I would literally go there just for the lemonade sometimes. Now it tastes like Simply Lemonade with one pinch of fresh rosemary thrown on top. Tonight I bit into something that was rock hard, twice. It wasn't a pistachio. Maybe the pit of the 3/4 of a date that was thrown on my pizza? I showed the server (he was super young and handled the situation terribly). The pizza was average. Not the best craft pizza I had, but not the worst. It was just kinda bland. Even with the side sauces, I still wasn't that impressed. The ricotta ranch was HEAVY on a ricotta taste and didn't give ranch vibes at all and the spicy one, wasn't too spicy! We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here. We shared the workshop salad recommended by our server. It was delicious and beautiful. We then split a pizza, half Salami (aka meat lovers) half pepperoni. Both were delicious. The crust dipping sauces were a great addition. Tried a different Pie Tap and loved the food but the experience was weird.... This one however was great. The host and server worked together to make sure all of the patio guests were greeted and taken care of. The mushroom pizza, margarita pizza and the arancini were all great. Fantastic experience at this pizza place. All around fun and good vibes. ATMOSPHERE: I came with a friend for an early Friday dinner and this location was busy when we came. The inside feels classy and clean. There was a long wait for a table, but seats open at the bar (full service). There is a small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant and some nearby street parking. FOOD: We got a half Prosciutto half Mushroom pizza. It was delicious. The crust was thin and flavorful and the toppings were just the right proportion. Great food, great service. My wife and me had dinner last night at Pie Tap on Henderson. We got a table on the patio because they were busy inside. Our waiter Matt, and his trainee Lexi were the greatest. It started getting cold and Matt asked if we wanted to move inside because the Manager said we looked cold. We were but they didn't have any tables inside when we got there. Matt said he'd find us a table. He sat us at a tall table near the bar and took our order. We had garlic bread and a prosciutto pizza. It was really good. We mentioned we were going to take some to our daughter, who has an allergy to nuts, and Matt asked if we wanted no nuts or wanted them on the side. We said no nuts and he told us he'd make sure they cut the pizza with a different cutter so there wouldn't be any chance of cross contamination. The half bird with cauliflower mash and sautéed veggies (the vegetables are some of the best I've ever had!) is amazing! But, as good as the food is, the service was even better! I don't know about you guys, but I've noticed a steep decline in service the last few years. But, that will NOT be an issue if you have Madana (Mah-dah-nah) as your server. He is probably the best, most caring server ever. I had rented an Airbnb in the area, I loved being able to take my dogs and walk there. I went 3 times in 2 weeks, because of him (and the veggies ) I went with different people each time. An amazing ambiance with a contemporary industrial look, this Resturant has both indoor and outdoor seating (I can't wait for Spring to go back and set outside). Inside there's average height tables and chairs, high top tables with stools and a bar as seating options. The service was attentive and knowledgeable. Ordered Pie Tap thru UberEats. My wife was eating her pizza and started to choke. Luckily she was able to spit up what was causing the issue. We found this roughly dime-sized piece of hard, sharp and thick piece of plastic in her pizza. Could've caused a serious medical issue if she swallowed this. I understand things happen in the restaurant business but how or why this was inside the pizza dough is beyond us. UberEats refused to refund the whole order and just issued a refund for the one pizza. This easily could've sent my wife to the hospital. If a kid was eating this it could've been even worse. Looove the pizza here! It's a stand out due to the pizza crust! We order the margharita pizza and regular cheese and pepperoni. The pricing is more than your average and biggest size is also smaller but they have better ingredients, fresh and we love it! My family and I come and usually get seated right away. Kids also like the Rosemary Lemonade. They have a smaller space with taller tables on one end that are all connected. Then smaller tables on the side. They have bar seating as well with TVs.
