Can't say enough fabulous things to about our favorite Gem of a Cafe called Olivella! Another phenomenal experience! Tuesday night is 1/2 price bottles of wine and we so enjoyed a bottle of wine called the Bodyguard, by Dauo. Where we have eaten the meatballs on a pizza, we had never experienced them as an appetizer...but tonight we did, what a Yum!!! We also ordered 2 pizzas cause we adore leftovers. We have found a new pizza, that tickled our tastebuds, it's called the "Carmen!" You take the pizza the "Dream," minus the red sauce & chicken, add sausage, tuffle oil, pesto & mushrooms= Euphoria!!!! The pizza crust is so tasty too. And once again we had an another charming server, I wish Yelp would let me name/recognize her. What I can truly RESPECT and appreciate is when leadership/management takes time to review feedback. Olivella's Pizza and Wine cares about their BRAND! They care about YOUR experience! I was able to address my concerns and give constructive criticism. This made me want to give them another chance. My 2nd visit was so much BETTER! I was happy that I gave it another shot. My first pizza experience didn't go as planned. My pizzas were missing ingredients and some of the toppings were skimpy. It might have been an off night. This was not the case this time around and I felt the pizzas were made with love! My White Truffle pizza had all the toppings. The sun dried tomatoes definitely made a difference. It enhanced the pizza and I enjoyed it so much more. The pancetta pizza was really good. I think this became my favorite. The Neapolitan crust is perfectly thin and crispy. The pepperoni pizza was full of pepperoni! Regina Margherita pizza with the basil was tasty. The basil is the star! The meatballs are good too. Cheese and saucy with a yummy sauce. My glass of Prosecco was AMAZING! Conner was a pleasant waiter and provided great service. I felt like I was back in Italy on this visit. The restaurant was packed and everyone was enjoying themselves. So thanks to the great leadership, management and staff. My expectations were met! I left feeling good, optimistic and satisfied. Drove a long way to try this highly acclaimed pizza. It was just "okay." I got the Roman crust, which the waiter pitched as "thin and crispy." It was thin but, disappointingly, not crispy. The Ceasar salad was good but not extraordinary. Still looking for that go-to pizza joint in the DFW area! read more

Wow, the thin pizza is amazing here! I've lived in Italy so I can be a bit picky about my pizza dough and crust, this was superb. The beer selection wasn't great, but they clearly focus on wine so it's okay. Went on a Sunday evening and it was absolutely packed, but they still squeezed in my party of 5. If you are a bit claustrophobic I wouldn't recommend going at a busy time, because it's really quite a small space that they pack people into. We got take out from Olivella's and thought the food was spectacular. When walking in, the atmosphere seemed inviting and great for a weekday or with families. We got the drunken pig pizza which was phenomenal as well as the pizza rolls which were also extremely well made and a good value for the price. A slice of "The Big Apple" in "Big D"? Fuhgeddaboudit! This is one of those secret spots in the neighborhood that seems straight out of a different dimension. If someone had told me that an authentic Italian by way of New York hole-in-the-wall (I mean that in the most charming way possible) eatery was hiding around the corner of SMU, I would have had a hard time believing them. Came around 4pm on a Sunday and we were seated right away. The Drunken Pig barely had any sauce on it - I enjoyed it more after ordering a side of ranch. The margarita pizza was very saucy, though. We ordered the burrata salad, veggie pizza, and ravioli to share between two people. All were delicious! The ravioli are made in house and served with a vodka sauce. So good; fluffy and rich ricotta. Went here today for the first time for lunch instead of planned Hudson House because there was too long of a wait and we also wanted to sit outside since the weather was beautiful. Glad we did! When we walked in it smelled AMAZING. Cutely decorated area in the inside too. I was debating between a salad and a few pasta dishes as they all sounded so good. I landed on the ravioli and am so glad I did. It was incredible. If you like cheese and pasta, you'll LOVE this. Also the price was great for the amount you get and how delicious it was. I had never been to this restaurant before in my entire life, I came in with very high expectations, because of prior conversations with peers about this specific establishment. This is a fave pizza spot of my sister and her family. While visiting Dallas from Philadelphia I am introduced to their dining spots, and this one is a good one! The back area is a kind of indoor/outdoor space that is semi open with big heaters. It offers a a nice ambiance! We ordered two pies, one truffle and one drunken pig with lots of meat... the sausage was delicious! They have great salads too! Try the burrata!
