Sorry to say my last experience with Sterling was less than satisfactory. The quality of the repairs has gone downhill in the last few years. I left a piece to be repaired and got it back in worse condition than I left it. I had to leave it again to be fixed the right way. When I picked it up the second time, the sales person was condescending and made me feel like it did not understand the nature of the repair, however, I knew exactly what I was talking about. She just did not want to admit that the poor quality repair was their mistake. Sterling has always in the past been known for quality repairs, however, this time they missed the mark and I don't know that I will trust them again. read more

Bought a pendant & chain here, high quality sterling silver and nice options. The tall girl who helped me always looks like she is being held captive. She costantly looks miserable and never smiles, no small talk ... whenever I shop there I get stuck with her and I wish I had the confidence to ask to switch sales people, because she makes shopping feel like a chore! I've gone in before and wanted to purchase but she was the one who helped me/belittled me over stones, so I left without making a purchase. I went back a few weeks later to get the jewelry I wanted and I got stuck with her again!! Didn't purchase. Absolutely love this place. I needed some jewelry repaired and resized. It wasn't expensive jewelry at all but has sentimental value for me. I stopped by Sterling on the way home from the gym (ie, in a t-shirt, no makeup, and disheveled ponytail) but they really treated me like I was a valued customer. Today I went in to this establishment to have them look at my watch that they has previously worked on 5 weeks ago. This was the first time that I had time to go see them. I took my Phillip Stein watch to them to replace the batteries. I had dealt with them before with no issues. Today was a different story. I see the clerk, show her the issue, explain that they had replaced the batteries. However when it was reassembled, something wasn't closed quite right. From the outset, I had moisture build up inside the watch. I took it back to them to ask if they could dry it out. The clerk took the watch into the back, spoke to an older gentleman in a red checked shirt who proceeded to come out and tell me that they do not warranty against moisture and condensation in the watch. I explained to him that the watch didn't have this issue before I brought it to them and maybe it was something that they had done when they were replacing the batteries. At this point the gentleman became very irate and told me that they don't warranty their work and what part didn't I understand? I thanked him for his time and left. I will caution anyone who reads this to think twice before you decide to use this business for any of your future purchases. These people have a high and mighty attitude and are very condescending in how they treat you. read more

I was recently here to have my watch band repaired and they were able to successfully order a new band and repair. This is the best local place to go for Pandora jewlery; they have a huge selection and you can easily browse through the catalog. One of the great and very helpful things that I enjoy, is that they will gift wrap any item for you. Which is always helpful and always looks better than anything that I could have wrapped! The service is excellent at this store. I requested a special order bracelet which they ordered. That night I realized I asked for the wrong style and shot a quick email to the owner. Next morning I got a call back saying don't worry, they contacted their vendor, cancelled the original and reordered the right piece. No fuss, no muss. Won't get that easily at the big stores. I have made several purchases and had appraisals in the past and never had any problems. However, my 82 years old mother did not have a good experience. She had a ring appraised there a few weeks ago because her insurance policy required it. After having it for about a week, instead of appraising it, they called her with an offer of $450. She reminded them that she wanted an appraisal, and that her appraisal from 10 years ago valued the ring at $3,000. He then wanted to give her money back instead of an appraisal, He finally agreed to do an appraisal. About a week later, the appraisal came back at $1850. Apparently, this antique ring that has not been worn in over ten years has depreciated. So, she took the ring to another store, who appraised it at $5,000. So Sterling Jewelry wanted to buy her ring that was appraised at $5000 for $450. Apparently if you are elderly, they think that you are stupid and that they can take advantage of you. read more

sterling has friendly sales people. had a coupon and went in for the first time and bought more than expected! parking lot layout is a little weird and when the next door salon is busy parking wasnt easy. store had a strange odor (was it horrible cleaning chemicals or mildew?). overall a nice store for jewelry. they had a lot of the alex & any in stock. read more

Terrible experience. Went in with my wife to pick out a piece of jewelry for my mother for Christmas. When we were asked for a price range by the salesman he said we only have a couple things in that price range very condescendingly. We proceeded to browse around the store and when we approached the diamond section had him yell across a busy store that that section was out of our price range. How little he knew I was also looking for a gift for my wife at the same time that cost significantly more that I wanted to get quoted that day. I walked a week ago, very sad. I've had a necklace on for 30 plus yrs well it broke. also a stone that my son bought me yrs ago. (lost my son 4 months ago). anyway as soon as i explained what I wanted, I was treated like the only customer in the store. I had a major ring rebuild that I originally went to a jeweler in Manhattan for and was not happy with the solution they came up with. The trip to Sterling was well worth it. The owner took the time to talk with me over the phone 3-4 times to fully understand what I was looking for.
