I have great admiration and respect for Dr. Tara Kipp at Piedmont Veterinary Clinic. She always goes above and beyond for my dogs, and for me, for which I am eternally grateful! At times when diagnostics are required beyond the means of the clinic, she always has great suggestions on what to do, where to go, who to see. She has been beside me with great understanding when I said good-bye to one of my beloved hounds and made those last moments together as special as could be. Very knowledgeable vet that makes you feel very comfortable from the time until you walk through the door.

These vets and staff are *terrific*. We moved to the Triangle 3 years ago with two cats and LOVED our vet back home. We worried that we wouldn't find another vet as good as Dr. Linda -- but the folks at Piedmont have pleased us and our cats. One cat had to have some teeth extracted, and the surgeon was great -- both with Emma *and* with the humans. We fostered a stray kitty for a few weeks, and Dr. Heinze was great with him; the rest of the staff were also good with my repeated phone calls about stray-kitty's health. We see Dr. Kip regularly for our permanent cats, and she is friendly and knowledgeable. It helps that she thinks our cats are sweet and good-looking. When we get there, we are immediately ushered into the exam room, so the cat(s) can be de-crated and walk around the room without fear of goggles or other kittens. We also pay in the exam room, which means that our kittens' exposure to the rest of the veterinary clinic is very minimal -- reducing stress on all concerned. We've since moved 25 minutes away from Piedmont, but we still take our cats there. Highly recommended: great service to the animals AND to the humans. read more

We've used PVC for more than twenty years, first for Otis, the worlds most remarkable cat, and now for Gus (the Schnoodle) who's been our constant companion, and ever vigilant protector of his mistress, since 2006. Dr. Mac and staff have provided top-notch care for all that time and we've been completely satisfied and recommend them without hesitation. Just today, we called to see if he could be seen and explained our concern about his unusual behavior and were told to bring him right in, even though they had a full schedule, they would have a look and call when he was ready. In just a couple of hours they called to say he was ready, and the Dr. would call to discuss the findings which. as it turned out, were the worst possible news. Gus had an inoperable growth and his time was short. All of our questions were answered and we were left with a clear understanding of the best way forward. I'm sorry the one star people had a bad day, but a few disgruntled reviews is only a part of the total picture. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer. I think they're good at what they do...maybe just too concerned with covering their overhead on that gorgeous office. We didn't feel comfortable with the upselling, and we will be looking elsewhere. read more

We have been bringing our cats and dogs to Piedmont for a couple of years. We recently decided to find another local vet. Although I think the vets are skilled, the clinic is really not oriented towards its customers (people or pets). We found the front desk staff rude and very unhelpful. Bringing your pets into the Vets is hard enough but when the first people you encounter are on some sort of immature power trip in makes the whole experience really unbearable. Replace or retrain your front desk staff. read more

We have taken our dogs and cats to Piedmont for ten years and could not be more pleased. They have great doctors and staff.

Do not take your pet here for anything other than shots. Our puppy was taken here and my daughter who is underaged was blamed for the doctor calling to get authorization for a procedure that was not what was needed and not recommended by the orthopedic vet. Even though their policy is you have to be 18 or older.... No one at the practice was honest and forthright when she asked 3 people to verify that her puppy would be getting a full cast when she was there with a parent who could authorize the procedure. They kept him for 5 hours then called her not me to tell her they don't do full casts. Then charged her for a full splint when he had one already on and we needed a full cast. The office manager should not be able to handle anything not have any responsibility as she insulted my daughter by saying she did something wrong. Do not walk run from this practice. They care about money and that's it regardless of whether or not it is in the best interest of the animal. Even though that's part of the ethics code they are suppose to uphold. read more

We were brand new dogparents when we were referred to this place and our furbaby was having a lot of skin issues. Previous vets we had seen before relocating to NC had pretty much just pumped him full of antibiotics but the rash kept coming back. Dr. Kip examined our boy thoroughly and after doing some quick in-house microscopy figured out that though he did have a bacterial infection, it was caused by him biting at the itchy rash that was really caused by allergies! She introduced us to a soothing, soap free dog shampoo, prescribed regular baths to remove the allergens, and told us we could just give him zyrtec. Within weeks his skin cleared up, his fur grew back, and three years later he is one happy, healthy greyhound! We have seen all the Drs. over that time period, and they and the techs have all been wonderful. The rooms are clean and they always bring in a blanket for our pooch to lay on. We are so grateful to them for taking such good care of our baby, and always finding a way to squeeze us in when we have an urgent situation. We highly recommend them, especially if you are a greyhound parent looking for a vet with lots of experience with our unusual breed. Dr. Kip has three of her own and Dr. Heinze has one, too! read more

Dr. Sugg has been our Vet for over 25 years. In my opinion Dr. Sugg and Dr. Kipp are two of the best Vets with some of the best diagnostic skills I have ever seen. I have had other Vets and I have reasonable service with them but nothing like Piedmont Vet. They are always on top of our animals health issues and treat our pets like family members. The staff at Piedmont Vet in Hillsborough is always friendly, helpful and simply a pleasure to deal with. Dr. Sugg and her staff have performed numerous surgeries on my pets from hickory nuts lodged in intestines, removal of stones from the bladder, teeth cleaning/extraction to simple spay and neuter to mention just a few. I have always had great service. I love the new building it was much overdue after all the years in the previously antiquated and cramped quarters. Keep up the good work. read more

Not happy nor pleased with the level of service provided. Unfortunately was referred to this practice about 18 months ago for an emergency evaluation. The Dr. that was working that day quickly judged me, the owner, and let that decide her recommendation for treatment (put the dog to sleep). Luckily I didn't trust a word she said and left for a 2nd opinion and everything worked out for the best with my golden. I had no intentions of ever returning to Piedmont nor will I. Fast forward till now, my golden was diagnosed with lymphoma at another veterinarian this week. Some how the Dr. at Piedmont got attached as a referring veterinarian and left a voicemail message "checking on the dog and offering to put her to sleep when it is time." This isnt even in the outlook as she has already started chemo and is expected to go into remission. How insensitive can someone and some place be? Learn manners and get some emotional IQ because you people stink. I will NEVER do any business with this veterinarian again. There are way too many great vets out there that care for your animals as much as you do as the owner. Recommendation is to avoid patronizing Piedmont Vet Hospital a.k.a. put them to sleep! read more
