My boyfriend and I decided to have lunch there earlier today. It was super busy. Expected for a Friday afternoon. The people in front of us had ordered quite a few pizzas. My bf and I could tell the gentleman that had started their order seemed a little overwhelmed and frustrated. (He wears glasses and has a mustache/ goatee. He's shorter than the other gentleman that also wear glasses.) Anyway, when it got to our order, he was half-assed. The pizzas were lacking sauce and we had asked to add extra ricotta to one of our pizzas but he didn't do that. It seemed like he was just trying to get us through the line no matter how terrible the pizzas looked. When it got to the veggies/meat, my bf specifically asked for sausage and meatballs but instead they put pepperoni and meatballs on his. We were hesitant to say anything because we were afraid that the staff was gonna take their frustrations out on the guests before us. I understand how busy it can be. I've worked in a fast-paced environment before. It's better to have someone complain about the wait than someone complain about the food and the service. Pieology isn't fast food. Wednesday May 27th crew at about 7pm was absolutely the worse crew I have ever experienced at this location! The pie's were absolutely pathetic and didn't even get after bake on one of them that I was charged for! The one that didn't get the after bake was a little better than the other two. We already started eating when my wife asked me to take pictures. If I walk in and even one of these employees are working, I'm walking right back out! By the way, there was one family eating, and the place was empty, so being busy is not an excuse!!! Oh, and the one with bell peppers was ordered with ham! read more

We loved the customer service and the pizza is amazing. Being able to choose your favorite toppings and have your pizza baked on the spot is a special experience. The downside is that cleanliness of the restaurant takes a back seat. Uncleared tables, self serve beverage area and DNA tracings on the glass doors is a bit of a turnoff for me. I stood there for over 7 minutes and the one guy kept walked by and the girl was making food they did not even look up to acknowledge me no eye contact or anything. I had an amazing experience tonight, i went to hesperia my last couple of visits and i wasnt the most satisfied. Well done over here at this location! my pizza was baked to perfection. I just walked into this restaurant and no one said a word and I stood there (5mins) with two employee working. After one employee (female) was done making a pizza she walked away and went into the back room and never said anything. Now I know why these business are folding. I will never come back. The pizza tonight was amazing. The service was great as well. I ws told by the staff that they are under new ownership. I never leave pieology for less than $100 for my family of 5. Tonight was well under that. Prices have dropped drastically. One of the staff suggested mixing the marinara with the Alfredo, it was delicious. pie was Krispy and flavorful. That was great, but the prices have gotten out of control. 4 pizzas, which are essentially enough for one person each, two of them cheese for $65. Piology used to be a decent deal, but they are way too proud of their product, or California wages are just pricing them out of offering any kind of good value. Beware! They don't put hardly any cheese on the pizza anymore! There was bare sauce everywhere and I even asked for more cheese and they said they have a policy against putting enough cheese to cover the pizza! The owner of this place you should be ashamed of yourself. You should not even call yourself a pizza place because if there isn't enough CHEESE on it it's not PIZZA. Worse service ever. We waited in line 30 minutes to order. We paid at 5:45 pm. At 6:15 pm, we finally asked about our order as they were not calling names. We find one pizza has been lost and the other was cold. When I asked to have it remade, the asst manager informed me it would be over an hour wait. Unacceptable. I've already been there nearly an hour and 15 minutes. I was offered a refund but the asst manager couldn't figure out how to do it so I get a hand written note that the manager will take care of it and I'd get my money in 5 days. WTF? Inexcusable. They were understaffed, poorly trained, and unable to provide any type of acceptable service. They were trying to train a new employee on a Friday night during dinner hours with a fundraiser going on. WHO scheduled this! Incompetence. I will never eat here again. $45 dollars and nothing but a growling stomach and a headache to show for it. Disgusted! read more

My very lite lite pizza cost me over $15 and the weight is half of the other three I brought here with me. I'm the one told I could not have more cheese!!!!! We came back here for the first time in years because Pieology was one of our favorite places when we lived in Apple Valley. The girl making our pizzas was friendly, and she washed her hands and changed gloves before helping us. Shockingly, her coworker tried making a pizza after touching her hat, glasses, mask, and phone while wearing gloves. We watched her put her hands on her hips, touch her glasses, adjust her mask, and check the time on her phone while standing by the dough press. Just as she was about to grab raw pizza dough, we spoke up and said she needed to wash her hands and change her gloves before touching the food. She pulled her hand out of the dough and stared at us. She rolled her eyes and said, "I was going to make food for myself, for your information." I said, "That doesn't matter, your hands aren't clean. You need to wash your hands and change your gloves." She then made a big show of properly washing her hands and switching her gloves right in front of us while the other employees stood and watched her. It doesn't matter if the food was for herself or a customer. If her dirty gloves are touching ladles and reaching into food containers, then she should retake her food handling class so that she can understand the importance of proper hand washing and glove changing. The pizzas were quickly cut and boxed after they were pulled from the oven by another employee. I didn't think I had to check them before leaving, but I wish I had. We took our pizzas home and were disappointed to see that two were burnt. We live too far away to drive back, but I'll be following up about our experience with a manager shortly. read more

One guy working at the moment, very attentive and made my pizza the best ive had here in years! We love this place!

So about 11 months ago I wrote a review about how disappointed we were about this place, that we always came regulary. Well at that particular time we went they had some stupid policy about the cheese and how they could only do one tiny scoop and a 3 finger pinch, that they couldn't give extra cheese even if we paid for it, so we had left and didnt go back since then. We'll today my husband said let's go in and see if anything has changed. Well we were pleasantly surprised to hear that its under new management and back to actually putting regular amount cheese on pizza and can actually get extra on it. Also what was really great to see is they lowered their prices from what other owner was charging. The person who helped us today who I believe said was the general manager was so friendly and pleasant and outgoing. He told us they now make xlarge pizzas as well. So now we will be going back there like we use to. read more

this is going to be a hard review for me because the actual food provided to me was really good. The problem is the value, I had a Pieology pizza with meat and cheese like everybody else I am low-carb so I got the low-carb option of cauliflower crust which was about 395 extra. Not sure why that should be extra because cauliflower is fairly inexpensive. My Bill before tip was north of $16, three times what are the cost to go to some other places I think this is not a good value. I enjoy their pizza but I don't think I'll be back. Took him literally 10 min to put toppings on two pizzas then instead of serving me he goes in the back for at least 5 min knowing I was there. He finally acknowledged I was there but then proceeded to talk to someone else about the dietary info on a pizza for another 5 min. I just left. Don't ever go there. Terrible. I hadn't been into a Pieology in quite a while, and decided to stop in today. I was looking forward to it only to be disappointed by the service. No welcome greeting when I came in the door, then took a long time to process the orders of the 2 customers in front of me. I get my pizza and it's ok, however I asked for ranch and pesto listed as an after bake. I was told there is a charge for those which is not listed anywhere on the menu boards. For a pizza and drink that costs almost $20 that should be complimentary - even in the state of todays wrecked economy.
