The service here was TERRIBLE. Honestly this pizza was good and the people making it were super friendly. BUT there was this man, without a name tag, who yelled at my little brother for putting a tiny bit of this new flavor of soda into his water cup, he was simply trying it to see if he wanted to buy a drink for this soda. This was after everyone ordered their pizza and was sitting down. My mother entered the store with an iced black coffee from another store and the same employee went up to my mom and YELLED at her because she apparently "filled it up at pieology" and she "had to pay for a drink". My mother was on a VERY important phone call while this employee yelled at her. My mother said that she got it from somewhere else and he continued YELLING at her. She shrugged him off at first but on his third time YELLING at her telling her that she "filled her drink up at pieology and needed to pay for a drink". This employee was SCREAMING at her infront of multiple other customers while my mother was obviously on a phone call. My mother was forced to hang up and told him "I got this drink from somewhere else!" and that "it was an iced coffee, which pieology doesn't even sell". This employee was still super angry at her so everyone had to leave. We have been coming to this store for YEARS and this employee had the audacity to scream at my mother who was obviously taking an important call. When I called them to find out who did this so I could speak to the manager the employee on the phone sounded exactly like the one who yelled at my mother, when i asked his name he must have picked up on my displeased tone and took a minute before saying "Jules" and when i asked for the manager he said that he was the manager. I doubt it. I called back a few minutes later and simply said "who am i speaking to" in a calm voice and the same person answered and said "Justin". This man had the audacity to yell at a child, scream at a woman on the phone, and lie about his name! I am honestly appalled that someone this rude could work at pieology. Justin, if that even is his real name, was the absolute rudest employee I have ever encountered at ANY establishment! I truly hope he faces consequences for this. read more

I've frequented this location numerous times, and there's always been something that detracts from the experience. Typically, I overlook minor issues like being informed that the lobby had closed an hour before closing, after I'd already paid for my pizza, or observing an employee watching the line but not intervening, or feeling rushed through the line when there was no one behind me. However, my latest visit compels me to speak out. I arrived around 7pm, with only 4-5 people ahead of me, but the lines moved agonizingly slowly. They were out of essential pizza ingredients like onions, artichokes, spinach, and roasted red peppers. To make matters worse, they were also out of ranch dressing. I decided to order a drink, but when I reached the drink station, they were out of Dr Pepper and root beer. Although they eventually resolved this issue, they claimed to be completely out of the food items. When I tried to get a lid for my drink, they had only one left, and when I asked for more, they were out of lids. This lack of basic supplies was frustrating, and had I been with a child or planning to take my meal to go, it would have been even more problematic. Additionally, the dining room was in disarray. I understand that challenges can arise during busy times, but being completely out of so many food items on a weekend's first day is simply unacceptable read more

I visited Pieology around 4 in the afternoon as upon my arrival, I was automatically welcomed by the staff (it's those "hello welcome" I like when arriving at a restaurant; very subtle, but welcoming and pleasing). As I was awaiting my order, I believe his name was "Angy" or "Andy" ( i didn't read his name tag correctly) told me he will be there shortly as he was finishing preparing an online order. As soon as he was finished, he began helping me right away. He told me about Pieology's different crusts and I picked the pie-rise thick crust (amazing)!! He then introduced me to the many oils they provide and I chose the herb butter, and followed with the house red sauce, mozzarella cheese, feta, and ricotta cheese. He then passed me along to Anj who would be helping me with the veggies and meats. She was an absolute delight and had no problem helping me with my toppings. She told me about their spices and after bakes and I picked the oregano and pesto and basil afterbakes (definitely worth trying) and then Anj guided me to the register and I was welcomed by Sienna who was very charming and pleasing. Overall, I was pleased by my first ever Pieology experience and will be back because of the amazing service by the amazing staff. Thank you Sienna, Anj and "Angy"?? Two stars because their reviews seem decent for their food, but when we came for that short encounterance, we spent a good few minutes awkwardly standing. We were the only ones there, but no one bothered to greet us until like two minutes in, when they let us know that they had some online orders to complete. In then proceeded to finish those in silence, all super focused. Just when they had put ten pizzas down the line, they turned to ask us what we would like, but by then we were on the verge of leaving. We left eventually, but the whole time, I just didn't understand why those orders were being prioritized over their customers in person, especially when they weren't here. It also seemed like a couple of orders so they either all coincidentally came in at the same time, or the team just had poor planning and were playing a game of catchup with their orders. read more

Worst pizza place ever. How can you still serve pizza without green peppers and red onions available. I think its unacceptable not to have those two toppings. Im not gonna eat ever again here or any pieology locations. I dont wanna experience this again eating pizza with no red onions and green peppers. P.S. they didnt even tell me in the beginning that they dont have those two toppings. They just told me after when she's done putting all the sauce, and i was really hungry that time. They seem to almost always burn the crust. Usually it's not too bad, today it was partially inedible and that's annoying as you pay for food that you can't eat. Managers response to this posting is not helpful. A refund for my burned pizza would be helpful. I have since read many other reviews from this location that mention burned pizza. Each time the manager promises to sort the problem (which he clearly has done nothing about since it continues to persist) and never offers to rectify the situation for the diner that wasted money on badly burned food. read more

The food is great here. Unlimited toppings for $8, where can you find that! The crust is definitely thinner and way healthier. They have options between wheat and white pizza dough, on top of that you get to add a type of butter or healthy oil to make the crust and pizza crispier. The unlimited toppings are great, you get to make the pizza your way or any way you want to. Make it fatty, make it healthy, customize it to your palate and what youre feeling that day. All in all, great place to get fast healthy food on the way home from the gym! read more

One of my favorite pizza places!! Love the variety of toppings. I was surprised to see how many different cheeses there were too. If you want to try something different I recommend adding the ricotta cheese, it's super creamy and surprisingly delicious. If you are not a marinara person they also have an option to add pesto or Alfredo sauce. They also have extensive choices for the crust such as pie-rise and gluten free. For dessert I love the cinnamon churro pizza, perfect for the people with a sweet tooth! read more

I go here all the time after class from Cal Poly. Its a great spot and it has great pizzas! I always get every meat they offer with some veggies and its always hot out of the oven and delicious. Pieology of Walnut is a pizza lovers must. The staff is also really nice and helpful and even recommend great additions to my masterpiece of a pizza. I happened to be at the village and thought to check out pieology. This place feels like the chipotle or subway of pizzas. I got to customize my pizza and they even serve side salads which were awesome. The service was good and the pizza was delicious. I just felt that there dining area needs be a little more clean. I love this place and how they make your food right in front of you. The service is always great, and the food is always fresh and delicious. I love getting the cauliflower crust as well, which is healthier and tastes just like a normal crust. This restaurant is one of my favorites at the Village. The only problem is that the line is sometimes long, but that's only sometimes.
