We were in the mood for some seafood and decided to check out Pier 88 off of I-70. We started our meal with the hush puppies appetizer and the onion rings appetizer. Both were delicious, but I'll be craving those hush puppies again soon! We also ordered one of the specials: 1/2 lb shrimp, 1/2 lb Snow Crab Legs, 1/2 lb sausage, corn, egg, and potato for $30. We ordered Hot as our spice level, but we could've gone up a notch! Make sure to try the strawberry lemonade...it's so delicious. We waited a while for someone to come to our table but the service was overall pretty good after.

TRASH!!!!! This place is the equivalent to going to the projects but unfortunately it's a restaurant. Drinks were trash and food over cooked! They couldn't make a proper drink to save their lives even if a god was in their face! Ambience? A dive bar has better quality than them!

This was the first time I've been to the establishment. I started with a strawberry margarita. It was pretty delicious. I didn't need to add extra alcohol because it was strong enough. That is rare to find nowadays. I had mozzarella sticks and chicken wings and Cajun fries as well as the boil with crab, sausage, and shrimp. All the food was amazing!!! The service was also good. There were TV's available to watch the Chiefs game. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I was definitely pleasantly surprised and I look forward to dining there again...

I was treated to an amazing dinner and get together with my friends last night! My friend and I. She's wearing her hat! hehe ^_^

Happy hour prices are great. Order the hush puppies! Food was hot and flavorful. We shared 1 lb. boiled shrimp. It was enough for two.

There is a back patio, front patio, and two dining rooms inside. If you like Cold Beer, a draft in a Schooner is definitely the way to go! We started with Spicy Gizzards ( Regular size was plenty for two, BTW not spicy ) and the 3 piece crawfish meat pie. Both were awesome. The meat pies take awhile, and they arrive Super Hot ( temperature ). When they arrive, break them open and let them cool!!! We both got baskets. The Fries and hush puppies are hot and delicious. My alligator was fire and my friend's catfish was light and fresh. For dessert we shared the Carrot Cake. It's made by Golden Boy ( local bakery ). It was one of best I've had. I was surprised it was delivered in a to go box. I didn't finish my gater, but I devoured that cake!

I am still genuinely befuddled at this Friday night dinner experience…read more I came in for a celebratory Hurricane since I'd heard these were great (and we loved their cocktails the last time) and a bite. The place was pretty empty which was unusual; the last time we came in I think was in December and it was slammed! It turns out they aren't serving alcohol right now (apparently an ownership change? I didn't get the full scoop) so that was the first let-down. So fine - I'll just have a bowl of the gumbo. For $29?! And some biscuits. The gumbo comes out in a cracked bowl with a cracked plate underneath and the 3 little crawfish on top are refrigerator cold. Granted, the actual gumbo was pretty solid with the right amount of heft and spice and depth, but even then the rice had some hard pieces in it like it was old. The biscuits aren't anything to write home about and the butter is just meh. I wouldn't spend my carbs there. On top of all that, the waitress literally couldn't be bothered that I existed. I had to pry to get a drink menu (which is when I found out they weren't serving any), I couldn't get any eye contact from her or any kind of friendliness, she asked me if I wanted them to "heat it up" when I told her about the crawfish, and then brought my bill when I hadn't even finished dinner without bothering to ask if I wanted any dessert. And on top of that, there was no mention at all about the dinner issues or any apology whatsoever. I don't need or want a meal comped but for over $40 for a bowl of gumbo and some biscuits (+ tax, tip, etc) I at least expect some acknowledgement or "hey, here's something nice we can do for you". We really enjoyed the last time we were here and this was a genuinely jarring experience compared to that. The place looks pretty rough right now - maybe this is one of those places that has the right vibe in the dark, but nothing felt right about it today, and I'm afraid I can't (won't) recommend it again.

I love a good seafood boil!…read more This has honestly become my go to spot. They have good customer service and I enjoy how they make their boils. The place itself is clean and I appreciate the whole graffiti-esque route they took to enhancing their spot. They have a marker by the door to let you right your name or really anything just about anywhere in the restaurant. The restroom however was not the best; although it was clean, it smelled absolutely terrible. I couldn't even stomach it and had to leave without using it. I ordered the number 3 with all eggs and it was good! Sometimes they can be a bit heavy handed with seasoning which overpowers the taste of the dish so make sure you clarify everything when ordering. I recommend this spot if you haven't been yet just make sure you use the restroom before coming in!

People have written on every inch of interior walls, lights, and paneling. Very cool and historic too. You order at the counter window and seat yourself. Self service on mints , napkins, and plastic ware. Lots of tables and booths for seating. Food was ordered then delivered to our table. Steaming hot and delicious. All the requested sauces were delivered to the table. Steamed oysters with real garlic and real butter sauce. Yummy! Egg fried rice delivered steaming hot and plenty to eat. Fried large shrimp with delicious hot sweet potato waffle fries. Fried catfish lightly crusted and flaky with plenty of home made fries steaming hot. Too much for us to eat so there were plenty for leftovers except the oysters. too good to leave. Prices are fair for so much quality food. Rice 10; fish and shrimp baskets 15; a dozen oysters 18. Total of $ 73 and I left a 10 for a tip for quality and quantity House specialties are steamed seafoods sold by the pound and include potato and corn in your selected sauce. I would definitely recommend this place and will come back when I can. Don't forget to bring a magic marker and write your name on the wall.
