We came here for a casual dinner this week and were very happy with the service. The waitresses kindly catered to seating us somewhere quiet, as my grandma has hard hearing and she was understanding about our preferences. We were seated instantly! The atmosphere in here is made rich by its dim lighting and slightly upscale dress code (not enforced, just naturally adapted by customer base). While it is a little loud, atleast you know it is popular for a reason. It's got the atmosphere and menu to definitely make a great anniversary, date night, or family reunion. Or like us, a special night out with family. The waitresses was happy to explain the drink menu and offered me a taste of the drafts. I ordered the fish sandwich fried and it was delicious! You can tell they make the ingredients from scratch here based on the full flavors and freshness. My mom got the enchiladas, she wished there had been more cheese. My grandma got the shrimp scampi, she wished for a little less lemon. I did try it and it is very strong in flavors of lemon and olive oil, so if that is your speed, try it for sure. I hadn't been here for some years, but this time definitely changed my mind. I will be coming back more often. read more

Went there for dinner last night to celebrate a birthday. We had the shrimp scampi and the pork chop. Both main courses were excellent. The scampi had a generous portion of good size shrimp. The pork chop was very thick and large yet was very flavorful and tender. The pork chop came with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. However, in looking over the menu I saw they had a variety of sides. I asked if I could change me sides, which they were more than glad to do. I got the carrots and the cornbread. The carrots were delicious and there was a lot of them. The cornbread tasted good but was a little dry. Next time I would stay with the carrots but try something else. As I said the pork chop was very big and I took about half of it home. When I placed my order the waiter asked if I wanted to order a second pork chop, which I passed on. However, next time I may take him up on the offer and have an additional one to take home. All around I give it 5 stars. Also, we asked about desert. There was no desert menu nor a desert tray to help us make a decision. The waiter did rattle off the desert options, however this was kind of busy to follow. A desert menu or try would certainly go a lot further, as far as we are concerned. In summary, the food was outstanding, the service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant. read more

I had a late brunch/ lunch with my family here to celebrate my dad's birthday. He turned 67, or as my daughter says (6-7 IYKYK) so it was a fun one to celebrate with everyone. I wasn't sure what to expect as I tend to be a bit weary of chain restaurants. I have to say though, this one had a really nice vibe and I get why people like it here. First of all, it's a nice restaurant with elevated vibes. It reminded me of places I used to go with my grandparents as a kid. It had great service, comfortable seating, and a nice menu. If anything it just feels like it caters to an older crowd - nothing wrong with that, just not my usual vibe. For brunch that day I had the migas and it was really great. Tons of food, and I easily made two meals out of my lunch. Something to note about the menus though is that they don't have a kids menu. They did share items for kids that they have on hand, but no physical menu to look at so not sure the prices or anything. Our daughter had a hamburger and she loved it so that was a win. One plus was she was able to get a side of fruit instead of fries, which was a win for her since she has declared that she only likes McDonald's french fries these days. Overall this is a nice sit restaurant with table service that has an elevated and sophisticated vibe. Likely geared towards older generations but younger folks will find plenty to enjoy here as well. read more

This is basically a repeat of a review left a year ago. Pork chops are still delicious! My mom, my son and myself all got the same thing: pork chops, mashed potatoes and carrots. All of our meals were perfect and super delicious. We love the onion and apple compote that comes on top of the pork chops, it is simply delicious and adds to the chops. The nice little house salad is still very good and my son likes their Caesar. We splurged for a dessert which was the chocolate ice cream cake thing and it is super good. Such reasonable prices for upscale food! We had big wine pours that is refreshing and not trying to be cheap. We split the Gulf shrimp scampi which was delicious with the lemon butter. I had the nice house salad with candied walnuts, a yummy sweet bite. Our server was on it, she even paired the guys and girls up that were sitting at a different table. The restaurant is gorgeous. Interesting positioning for the front door but aesthetic on the inside is nice. We swing by for Social Hour and enjoyed Duo dip ( Jalapeño pimento cheese, guacamole, hand-cut tortilla chips) which adding on both cheese and guacamole was quite tasty combination. My cousin had the crispy flats while enjoyed full meal of chicken that was so crunchy and well seasoned with zesty flavor, mashed potatoes and believe it or not the cucumber salad was better than I imagined. I've always loved the food and atmosphere here, which is why I keep coming back. Unfortunately, on my most recent visit, the service wasn't quite up to the same standard. Our waitress was very nice and friendly, but she didn't seem very confident. Even after repeating our order back to us, part of it still came out incorrectly. We chose not to send it back because mistakes happen, but at this price point, I do expect the level of service to match the quality of the food. I'll definitely return because I enjoy the restaurant, but I hope the service is a little more polished next time. read more

While in Overland Park I stopped in for lunch on a weekday. They weren't busy and the service was great. I sat at the bar and upon checking out the menu, their grilled halibut sandwich instantly stood out to me, so I went with it. I got it with a side of their cole slaw, instead of fries. I also got another side of their cucumber salad. The fish was grilled perfectly! Very tasty and tender, far from dry. The grilled bread tasted so good as the sandwich and the entire thing, with the slaw on it was excellent! Their side of cole slaw was some of the best cole slaw I've had in a very long time - so very tasty! And the side of cucumber salad was also really good. Service was outstanding! My wife and I went on a busy Monday night for the first time here. We reserved before hand but were able to get seating as soon as we walked in. The server was kind and even though he was busy, he provided great service. I got the pineapple margarita which tasted incredible. It wasn't strong either so drinking it felt like I wasn't being punched in the mouth. I got the chicken and sausage and with the mustard that went with it, it tasted incredible. We have enjoyed RCG for years often for special events for our family so it is special to us. The prices now are just too high for a menu that hasn't really changed in a decade. We all enjoyed our meals although I don't think the overall food quality justifies our very large bill. Inflation is real but there's a breaking point. My husband and I had a very upsetting experience here and ended up leaving before finishing our meals. There were two obvious hairs in his carrots that appeared to be pubic hairs, which was extremely disturbing and completely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. We were so disgusted that he declined having the dish remade, and I couldn't continue eating my salad, I had two bites before he found the hairs. Despite this, we were still charged for my food. Our waitress was kind and apologetic, which we appreciated. However, the two men who addressed the issue from the kitchen seemed very blasé and didn't treat the situation with the seriousness it warranted. This raised real concerns for us about cleanliness and food safety. I strongly urge management to take this seriously and for proper health standards to be reviewed. Found this place last evening and what a good find. I had the shrimp scampi. It's the best scampi I've ever had. My husband had the Italian sausage and roasted chicken. He enjoyed it and really like the sauces that came with it. We shared the brownie ice cream with caramel and chocolate sauce. The service was excellent. Luca was our server and he was very attentive. Visiting from San Francisco. I recommend ordering the artichoke dip as an appetizer and the Hawaiian Ribeye as an entree. The portioning for the Hawaiian ribeye is generous. The mashed potatoes and mushrooms were very complimentary to the ribeye. I also recommend the extra dirty martini. The service is prompt and friendly. The ambiance is on the louder side. I had initially been concerned that there was no option for a baked potato, but the garlic mashed potatoes were possibly the best of their kind I've ever tasted. Grilled zucchini was allowed as a substitute for corn, and it was also excellent, though a couple bites were a tad salty. Our server was magnificent; friendly and attentive with help suggestions. We were greeted right away and got great service during our dining experience. I got their chicken sandwich packed with coleslaw, grilled chicken, pickles, Swiss, mustard, and fries. She was friendly and even asked for our names (even though she never used them, but not a deal at all). We ordered an appetizer and a bottle of wine. I used to love this place! It has gone downhill in my opinion. The service was slow and the food mediocre at best. Apparently the air conditioning was not working properly so they had fans blowing and the ice melted in our drinks. I wish they had warned us of the AC issue. My rotisserie chicken salad had end pieces of lettuce and tomato. Cornbread dry and without butter- which I could have asked for but we were experiencing such slow service we didn't want to wait. I have probably tried most of the items in the menu through the years and can not say bad thing about it. I typically get the flats but decided on the meat loaf so I could have leftovers. Only reason I did not give it a 5 is for 2 reasons. 1. The circle booth for 7 people is a horrible idea. It is cramped and not leg room which made it very uncomfortable. 2. Took the team to dinner there in a Tuesday and was not disappointed. We had a 5pm reservation and that was a good thing because it was packed by 6pm. The roasted chicken and ribs was amazing, falling off the bone was perfect. The carrots were perfect and whatever seasoning they used was amazing. The service was spot on the waitress knew the menu and was very helpful. We did have a vegetarian in our party and they ended up just ordering sides. I'm usually a VERY local business supporter, but this is one of my exceptions for a chain. The food is amazing, it's reasonably priced, the drinks are great and the service is always top notch. It's a beautiful place (I'm usually at the bar, which is nice and large to accommodate many people). The outdoor bar during good weather is wonderful and they typically bring in some live music on the patio during the summer. One of the best filets I've had in town. After patronizing Redrock often over the last few years, we won't bother returning. Just finally got tired of the three 8th graders at the host stand being terribly confused about outdoor seating. Even the manager yesterday evening couldn't seem to master our request to sit at one of the hightops by the bar outside instead of down around the side. I suspect it was too complicated for them to buck the computer program assignment of servers.
