They have many fresh, local breads you can't get anywhere else, unless you drove all around. The hot food is good but the cold salads and soups are fantastic. Each week it is different- they don't make huge amounts of things to sit around. They make fresh blintzes. I stock up on frozen perogies that are not available at supermarkets, like mushroom. Last time we tried fresh plum perogies, which was not our favorite, but it was fun to try! The special European treats are fun, too, especially around holidays. They have the "real" kinder eggs, fancy wrapped candies, and drinks. The fresh-delivered pastries, like poppy seed breads, are amazing. Our family doesn't even eat much meat- they have plenty of it available here!- but we love the vegetable offerings, the special yogurts and cheeses, like really good swiss, and the condiments. Overall, this is a good spot for unique flavors, high quality, buying large or small quantities, and kind interactions.

Crispy Melty by Caseus is a gourmet grilled cheese food truck that opened in New Haven, Connecticut…read morein 2010. It was founded by brothers and hospitality entrepreneurs Jason & Tom Sobocinski. The roots of the truck actually extend back to 2008 when Jason opened Caseus Fromagerie & Bistro with other partners. Named after the Latin word for "cheese curd", the restaurant sold an array of gourmet cheeses in their retail shop and cooked several dishes featuring said dishes in their bistro. In 2010, the partners decided to bring that cheese on the road in the form of a grilled cheese truck simply called "The Cheese Truck". The truck was even featured on a 2011 episode of the popular TV show "Man vs Food Nation". In 2018, the partners decided to shut down Caseus and it morphed into the current restaurant Olmo. The Caseus Cheese Truck still continued to operate on the road. In 2020, the Sobocinski Brothers joined forces with hospitality veteran Chris McMahon and the truck was rebranded as "Crispy Melty by Caseus". In 2023, the partners got back into the retail business when they opened a new brick & mortar (dubbed "Caseus Provisions") in Wallingford. I've been eating Caseus' delicious gourmet cheeses for several years. I ate at the original restaurant a number of times; my wife and I had one of our first dates there. We were sad when Caseus closed down, but were relieved that we still had access to the food truck. My wife and I recently took our sons to a touch-a-truck event in Madison. We were happy to see that Crispy Melty was one of the food trucks there. We decided to order and share a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches. This was the first time that we had their grilled cheese since they rebranded the truck in 2020. We ordered the "Garden" (classic cheese mix with basil pesto and garden tomato) and the "Chicken Pisano" (classic cheese mix with pulled braised chicken, hot cherry peppers & caramelized onions). Both sandwiches were fantastic as always! It's always great to see the Crispy Melty truck at an event!

I get the pollo platter, which comes with this amazingly perfect chicken. The spices are phenomenal and the chicken is so tender! the platter comes with rice, french fries, and this addicting, creamy green dipping sauce that is cilantro-y, but has a subtle spicy kick. I LOVE IT!! They also recently gave me a sample of their quinoa. It is light and delicious. Pieces of sweet corn, black beans, and lots of cilantro, which I love in case you couldn't tell. The truck is a little more expensive than the other carts in the Sachem St. area ($10 for my favorite platter here vs $6.50 for lemon chicken platter or ramen from my favorite Japanese cart), but I think it is totally worth it. My priorities are delicious first and price second though. Anyway, you get quite a bit in the platter and it is just so delicious! At the very least, it is worth at least one try! I usually treat myself to one of their platters on Fridays! The people are super nice and they seem to take a lot of pride in their food! Something I can always get behind!
