There must have been a recent change in the kitchen, well actually service wasn't good either. I work in Radnor and used to come for lunch all of the time. I haven't been in awhile so the fact that its always been good in the past, made me go today for lunch.The service was so slow, and it was empty. The bread was different (not a big deal) but it used to be really good. My salad with grilled chicken came out soggy with cold chicken, just pulled out of the fridge with grilled marks. The cauliflower piccatta was soaked in fermented butter. Please don't try to cut costs and go back to your old, fresh ways. read more

I frequent the Pietro's brick oven pizzerias and Pietro's Radnor is one of my favorite! Pietro's Radnor provides a fun atmosphere where you can find your favorite beer pizza and pasta! They have some cool new additions to their menu which I can't wait to try, but, as ever, their pizza is second to none! I'm so glad they brought this chain to the Main Line, to achieve to food diveristy in the region and a fun night out to dinner! Really you can't go wrong with any pizza option on the menu, the calamari is amazinggg my mouth waters just when I think of how good it was! The stuffed meatballs and the risotto balls are sososo good and a must try! Glacial staff and bad food for the money. Despite having about 15 servers on the floor, the service is repeatedly poor. Although polite, the staff is generally lost and the manager doesn't appear interested. We've eaten here for work lunches and family dinners and the food is below average. We brought our extended family to Pietros for lunch the day after Christmas because we love it so much. All I can say is you better have the menu on the right side when you're ordering. 5 of us ordered the lunch special chicken Caesar salad. When we got the bill, we were charged for the regular Caesar plus chicken - an addition of $5 per salad. We questioned the bill and were told it depends what side of the menu you have up when you're ordering and the manager instructs the staff not to ask any questions. Have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous?? So now a frequent customer will think twice before choosing to dine at Pietros again. read more

I had high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately it fell really short. The wine was overpriced and the first glass tasted stale, like the bottle had been open for awhile. We mentioned that it was 'really bad' and were still charged full price, plus full price for the 2nd glass of something better. My boyfriend and I ordered a salad to share and two pizzas as we wanted to try different options. The salad was good - nothing to write home about, but we enjoyed it. Both pizzas were terrible. Mine was excessively cheesy, to the point that it was difficult to eat and resulted in a soggy crust. My boyfriend's was too saucy and flavorless. We could also tell that the meats on the pies were not high quality - both the prosciutto and sausage had a funky taste. The pizza crust was thicker than anticipated and flavorless as well. The inside was in need of an upgrade, especially for being in Radnor, but it would not have bothered me if the food was on point. For a $100+ weekday lunch, we were really disappointed. read more

I wish this place could be better. I like the location and their Luigi pizza is great but the rest is not so great. We were there yesterday, by the way their M-F happy hour deals are good deals, but this was Saturday. We ordered the caprese salad at the bar. The staff there must love soccer because that is always on and the wait staff stand at the end of the bar watching TV. Anyway the caprese salad looked great but I noticed that the tomato still had the produce sticker on it. Gross. I guess someone did not wash the produce? They made us a new one and gave it to us for free but it was half the size of the first one. The staff is ok. Never that friendly. I hate that. It must not be a great place to work. The bartenders are the worst. We like to sit at the bar and have had several different bartenders and they are all the same. Semi- friendly and never get you anything unless you ask for it. Need water or bread they only get it if you ask. I want to like this place more and rate it higher but I can't. read more

Your typical loud eating experience. I'm so frustrated by these eating places, I can't hear the waiter or anyone you are with. They must all talk to each other about how to build a place that has loud seating. Pretty good food, a little pricey. I'll never go back but visit yourself and decide. I went to Pietro's last night for dinner with my three children (Ages 7, 9, 11). A friend had told me they offered a great happy hour menu for appetizers and pizza. After checking it out online, I thought it would a perfect spot. When I arrived the hostess asked how many children's menus I wanted and I let her know we wanted the Happy Hour menu. She said OK and seated us in the dinning room because the high-tops and bar were sectioned off for a private party. When I sat down, I noticed the menu mentioned the Happy Hour was limited to the bar and high-top sections, so I asked our waiter about it. He was a really nice younger waiter and said he would have to check with the manager. He came back to the table and said the manager refused to allow it but he asked if I wanted to speak with the manager, so I said yes. The manager came to the table where I explained to him that when I arrived, I specifically asked about the happy hour menu, was told it was available, and was seated in the dinning room because of the private party in the other room. He told me that he was unable to offer the happy hour menu in the dinning room--like it was some sort of impossibility! I went on to explain that given the circumstances, perhaps an exception could be made and that it was just myself and 3 young children--not like we were going to be exploiting the happy hour cocktail list, we just wanted to order a few apps/pizza at the happy hour prices. He again refused and said there was nothing he could do! At that point, I wanted to get up and leave, but I felt badly for my kids since they were hungry! So instead, I politely voiced my displeasure and let him know that I will never go back there again. I've been to Pietro's a number of times---I've brought client's there for lunch meetings on multiple occasions and also dined there with my entire family. The food is good and it's location is convenient to me for both client/work and personal occasions, but I could not get over how short-sighted the manager was being. So in the end, I ended up spending twice as much as I otherwise would've, and now that I'm looking at my receipt I also noticed the kids items we ended up ordering were all overcharged by .50. Not a huge deal, but when the menu says 7.50 they shouldn't charge you $8.00. Lame! read more

Not even close to the Pietro's on Walnut Street in Center City. First of all, way too many little kids. Screaming, running around inside and out, and typhoid like coughing.(Interesting side note: There have been 8 cases of whooping cough identified at Radnor High School.) Ewwwww. The waitress was efficient, but a little curt. The bread is good...toasted. The atmosphere is nice, but if you like the Pietro's in center city, this place will be a huge disappointment. But if you looking for a step up from a McDonalds with an indoor playground, this place may fit the bill. read more

I really love this place. I do mostly take out food because it gets crowded in there later in the day. The pizza is amazing as is. You don't even need to add anything to it. But if you do, it's still good. All ingredients are fresh and delicious. Best pizza around here. I don't care the cost. Speaking of cost, it is true that the items here are a few dollars more then other areas but you will not be disappointed. I have sat in for lunch once and it was a pleasant experience. Service was friendly and on point. Any time I have ordered take out the manager walks me right up to where I get my food and ring out and makes sure I'm taken care of. It doesn't hurt that he is an attractive man. Very professional and gets me in and out. I don't know his name. I just call him tall, dark and handsome. The smoked Mozzarella is to good to be true. The flavor is so good. I have no choice but to order them every time because I can not resist. Risotto balls are A plus. I really liked the stuffed meatballs but I think they should throw two more in there but the flavor was worth it. The Caesar salad is large and filling. I added shrimp and was not disappointed. I have also had the Spaghetti and meatballs, Salmon, Rigatoni Bolognese and Rigatoni Alla Vodka. What they all had in common is having a fresh and flavorful taste. This is a great place to go for Italian food in the area. I would not pass it up. Also want to mention that the delivery woman named Maryanne is very nice. Only an incredibly mismanaged restaurant would book a table for 30 people at 7:30 on a Saturday night when the place is otherwise full and orders for takeout brisk. Great place to go for pizza if you'd like to wait for food in a noisy, raucous place for one solid hour! We were within 5 minutes of walking out when our meals arrived, one undercooked, the other cold from sitting. As long as the restaurant has such management issues, we will find alternatives. read more

This restaurant is exceptional, in all regards. My husband and I are busy medical professionals and eat out almost every night. Pietro's has become our new favorite restaurant to frequent, for a variety of reasons. First, the food is incredible, across the board. It is certainly the best Italian food I have ever eaten (and since I am Italian, this comes as quite a compliment)! Further, it is a beautiful environment, though it does not have a "stuffy" feel. Next, the service is impressive and every waitress and waiter is friendly, helpful, and eager to please. Last, the managers are terrific, always present, and really seem to care. I would like to add a criticism (as I always have numerous ones), but I simply can't find one for this restaurant! Made a reservation for 6-a gal's night out with friends. We were seated right away and drink orders taken and delivered quickly. Lots to choose from --mixed drinks, great beer selection (they had my fav Allagash White) and wines too...everyone pleased with drinks. We ordered four appetizers--Risotto Balls, Fried Moz, Fried Calamari and Meatballs too--all came promptly with delicious bread too. Everyone very pleased with appetizers. Dinners came along not long after. I had the Beet Salad which was lightly dressed and had plenty of beet, apricot, pistachio and cheese atop. My friends had Chicken Parm (I had a taste and we both agreed was one of the best we've had!!), Chicken Limone (both gals who had this loved it) and a Seafood Pasta with white wine sauce that the chef made special for her instead of the spicy marinara. Desserts were next even though we were all already full! We ordered the Chocolate Mousse Cake and three scoops of Gelato-one in each flavor--vanilla, chocolate and caramel...nothing was left when we said our goodbyes!! I would highly recommend the Chocolate Mousse Cake--it was velvety. mostly mousse and just the right amount of chocolate for this chocoholic!! Our server, Danielle was fantastic--recommended certain dishes when we were undecided and was extremely attentive....I've been to many restaurants in Wayne--the food and the value was on target here! I'll begin with the good... The ambience and our waitress (as a server) were on the mark, however, the experience was ill-fated from the start. We had a reservation for 6 people for my husband's 50th bday (which I noted in my reservation) which included my almost 80 yo father who was just getting over being sick. When the hostess walked us to our table it was right by the emergency exit doors. Even with my coat and scarf on before we sat down I felt a draft. I nicely asked the hostess if we could switch tables because of what I felt and my father in laws recent illness. It was about 6:30pm and the restuarant was barely 1/3 full at this point. The hostess said no we are fully booked tonight and cannot make any changes. My mother in law even asked then... The hostess and now the waitress stated no it was impossible. I said that I was unclear why our reservation would be different than others. She said it couldn't be done. I dropped it because it was my husbands birthday and I didn't want a scene. The table we were seated at was one that changed from a 4-square to a 6 round. There were at least 3 other open versions of that table in the dining room for 2/3 of our meal... Some longer . I even notice some that had been set to 4 were changed to 6 before we exited the resturant at 7:30pm. I froze throughout the entire meal. My meal was awful...I had the tomato and basil appetizer and the balsamic reduction was beyond sweet with an after taste that was just awful. The rest of the table seemed to like theirs... Hence the 2 stars. Very disappointing! read more
