Nilla Wafer Persian: For a grocery store bakery, I've been pretty impressed with the doughnuts at…read moremy local Meijer (although the selection is sadly wildly inconsistent). A Pershing/Persian is a doughnut that is similar to a cinnamon roll but is made with doughnut batter. Meijer has had a plethora of Persian varieties lately, with one of them featuring Nilla wafers. The surface of this pastry contains a lake of vanilla pudding with sweet cream cheese frosting bordering it like a beach. Three mini-Nilla wafers can be found within the pudding as the finishing touches. The cinnamon flavor of the pastry's body is sweet and relatively subtle with no uncomfortable burning/heat to it. Cinnamon granules can be seen in the dough after taking a few bites if you look closely enough. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. At first, I wasn't digging the texture of the pudding as I'm used to the whole thing being frosting, but it grew on me with each bite. I then proceeded to check-out only see that 1 full service lane was open and the self check out had a long line. I was so disgusted that I left my entire shopping cart in the aisle and left. How can a store of this size only have 1 full service checkout lane open when there is 8-9 carts deep? I looked over at the customer service are and there were 3 persons behind the desk, pull one or two out and support the full service check out.. lastly, in most aisles they were restocking shelves at 11 AM, this is what early AM is used for NOT mid morning on a weekend? This is absolutely the last straw! I don't want to hear that staffing was not available, etc. if you are OPEN be OPEN.

I ended up buying groceries but needed an Apple Watch charger and the cashier informed me I had to purchase it in electronics. I don't mind but I'm doing the rest of my groceries with it and he didn't mind. The cashier even helped me find a smart tv for my truck he checked me out quickly and we held a conversation. The store was clean and restrooms were too. I would recommend coming here just not with your semi truck.

The produce department looked good and well stocked on my way to the deli and the deli was completely stocked unlike my Walmart store, I never know what I will get so a well stocked deli leaves me many options. Once again Walmart has no consistency to the store layout which varies from store to store but I found everything and than some. One thing I notice was a cooler with $6 complete ready to heat and serve meals which I have never seen at my Walmart, I should have tried one. I did like this Walmart better than my Walmart.

The store it self was unique because it's a liquor store but is has Bbq to go, pizzas, fresh rib eyes, cheeses, take and bake food, sandwiches, liquor, beer, wine, cigars etc. Unfortunately the Bbq is cooked in batches and sold out of the deli case cold that you have to reheat, not a big deal for me. I followed my rule that if you smell smoke when you walk in, I'm getting the full slab even though it's wrapped in foil and I couldn't see them. The full slab was very reasonable at $16.95 by the way. At first unwrapping I'm like dam nice bark and look how meaty the rack is, I hate that some places give you thin and bone racks so thank you for a nice rack. After heating up a third of the rack the bark came to life and was tasty, thick and sticky. The ribs were very meaty/tasty with that nice pink smoke ring but not very Smokey. The rib meat was moist and pulled clean off the bone. While there I bought a package of jalapeño meat sticks and a Czech beer from 1842, Pilsner Uequell imported it says. For a liquor store doing Bbq I'm giving them 4 stars because the ribs were good and they use meaty racks and at $16.95 for a full rack it's a good value. I would definitely get these take and bake Bbq ribs again and try other Bbq items from here.
