Went here because my daughter suggested it. It is like a cross between if Fresh Thyme and Whole Foods had a baby. I liked it very much! They have a tremendous amount of healthy, gluten free, organic, and grass fed type meats. They even had organ meat (carnal) mixed in with some different ground beefs. Supposedly good for you! The taste, I cannot speak of. We purchased a few things to try and so far all were delicious. Definitely check them out and enjoy a little shopping excursion for some healthier options. Good Harvest has excellent produce and a strong organic selection, but the prices consistently run high -- high enough that it's hard to justify doing a full shop here. Shelves can be understocked at times, which I suspect comes from the same challenge: small natural markets struggle with volume and margins. Some people may feel the prices are high, but once you consider the quality, freshness and organic sourced (higher cost and lower yield) then you begin to understand it isn't that expensive. I like their fresh produce and butcher shop. Just look at the quality (color, size and freshness) of the fruits and vegetables. A good beer and wine selection with plenty of local beers. I typically don't buy my wines here. When I buy wines, I generally buy 6-12 bottles at a time and I can find better deals elsewhere. Service is great. Really great service. Always met with a "hi, can I help you" at the butcher shop. Advice on meats, cuts, are you grilling?" Fast checkout and extremely clean store. Need advice on natural remedies for health ailments, there is someone here to help. Join their frequent shopper rewards called ECO Rewards and at the end of the year you get credit/gift card to spend at the store. Check out the Harvest Cafe located in the store for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. Yes I am a fan of the butcher shop and fresh produce, and you do pay for what you get. Disclaimer: this review is only for the "deli." For lunch one day, I yelped "sandwiches" and this place popped up. I did see on the reviews and photos that it was a grocery store, but it did look like it was like fresh thyme or Whole Foods, and that it had a small restaurant/deli set up with it. What solidified this thought was the photos of the menu showing sandwiches. Consider this your warning, they no longer serve sandwiches. The menu is about eight items long and nothing like the photos posted. There is, however, a salad bar and local beer so that's where it gets the 2 stars. I have not found Wisconsin to be a haven of healthy food so I was quite happy to find that the Good Harvest Market offered a seemingly endless variety of high quality, nutritious food at a reasonable cost. Good location and selection for The City of Waukesha. But in my opinion this type of store is not budget friendly at all. I can find comparable items cheaper at a different grocery store and just come here to fill for items that I can't find elsewhere. Employees are friendly as you walk through the store. I absolutely love their salad and soup bar. Perfect if you are staying to eat or taking away. They have a nice variety of changing items that keeps your salad interesting and tasty. I often don't even need salad dressing with all of the possible toppings they provide. There is a nice loft seating area if you are meeting up for lunch, dinner, or a meeting. I have not tried their hot bar but it looks promising. The store itself offers great items and although you will pay a bit more, I think the quality is worth it. Another tip - their desserts are wonderful and not too sweet. I am usually a savory over sweet person but their dessert samples always leave me wanting more. I really enjoy this place, as not only it is a host to great local products, but it really takes a place in the community by hosting events and doing fundraisers for nonprofits in the community. One of the first times I went, they were had HAWS there with adoptable animals and part of the cafe's proceeds were going to the nonprofit. Got to love a company that's willing to give back and support. Now, onto the market itself. Always really impressed with the selection. Staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Great organic produce, essential oils, handmade soaps and local artisan products. My favorite part is their hot and cold service area - they have great cold pastas/grains/salads that I love bringing home (my favorite is the organic sweet potatoes with honey and cumin.) It is more expensive than a standard grocery store, but you are getting a range of selection you wouldn't normally and are usually getting locally produced or organic varieties of most things. I would say I don't do every single grocery shopping trip there, but I go on occasion and as a special treat for myself. I had trouble finding my way over there the first time because I ended up taking a weird back road that's really the "fire road" which is small and really only one car can pass around and there's zero signage to try and get there. That's the directions I got via my cell phone, but I later had it explained to me that it is a back road and not the main entrance. Not sure how many people might experience this, but it made me feel like it was "hidden away" which it isn't really. read more

I love this place for many reasons and healthy grocery shopping isn't even one of them... it should be for me, but there are many others reasons I fell in love with Good Harvest... FRIST: Their hot bar is beyond amazing and delicious. Not only are their ingredients healthier for you, it's obvious the cooks love what they do compared to the other grocery stores - even most restaurants. SECOND: Their menu to order food is just as good. I love my greasy cheeseburgers like a typical Midwesterner, and yet, the healthy burger version they have is one of the only "healthy burgers" I'll eat ... even think about! I don't know how they do it, but it's a good one. THIRD: Their staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and positive! The manager, Ross, blew me away when he remembered my name after not seeing me for almost a year - he himself is simply an amazing individual. When looking for something to drink, another staffer and I had a great conversation about all the Kombucha's and which ones are her favorite and why. There are many more instances I can write, but know this, everyone there genuinely cares about you!! FOURTH: The venue is amazing. After they moved from their original location, I didn't like the energy when comparing it to their old place which had a true "mom n' pop" vibe - I'm over that now! The second floor is great to relax, work, and have meetings, same with the first floor - I just personally love the 2nd floor for some reason. FIFTH: Community!! They put up a bookshelf for local wellness practitioners to promote themselves to make it easy for their customers to find a service provider. They have one big annual trade fair in the parking lot and also do numerous smaller ones throughout the year within the store itself. Most products on their shelf, from what I noticed, are all from local farmers and local businesses. Roundy's, Sendik's, Health Hut, and Festival Foods can't beat that. ONLY DOWNSIDE: I live near Mitchel Airport and they're off Highway T in Pewaukee making it a 40+ minute drive one way. But... This is a large health food store with a terrific produce selection (fresh morels and ramps anyone?) and many different vegetarian products located throughout the store. I was very disappointed when I stopped in to grab a quick bite in the cafe to see that a vegetarian friendly menu was not carried out here or in the fresh deli items. Sad! read more

Good Harvest Market is ok. I do like the fact that they send me a monthly newsletter detailing their sales for the month. I have found a few employees to be a little surly at times as well as a few customers who think that they are "all that" and are rude. Produce is limited but what I have gotten there has been good. Not nasty like PNS. Their selection of gluten free is very good however, I find that I can get the majority of the same gluten free items at Woodmans a lot cheaper. Woodman's has a huge organic section should I decide to go down that road. They also seem to have a bunch of coupons out which I really like. I could not afford to do all of my shopping here but it is ok to get your gluten free stash. Wish their foods by the pound would be more extensive, like Whole Foods. read more

This location is much bigger than the one we have downtown Milwaukee. It's in a strip mall so it's not megastore huge but big enough (similar to Outpost). There's a deli that has sandwiches and such made to order. I tried a veggie panini, it was very good. Came w/side of pasta salad and some fruit. Love all those food groups in one container. Produce selection is small but all is fresh. Dairy has some brands not seen at other similar stores. Frozen food as well had several unique brands. I especially love that they feature small local businesses that I haven't seen. I picked up some Grandma's chow mein noodles (difficult to find a natural unprocessed version!). There are lots of friendly workers there offering help and many free samples. Free stuff down every aisle. When I left I was almost too full for my lunch! read more

Good but pricy. We come here for lunch about 2x a month. The iced tea is awesome so is the curry chicken salad, quesadillas, and I got a juice for the first time today and it was good. Now that I said it, on to the review: Produce - I believe one of the main goals of this store is to provide fresh and organic produce. The workers in produce pay close attention to and have extensive knowledge of the produce. They check for quality constantly and keep the cases updated several times a day. Insider tip: they sell at distributor price. Yep, they don't mark up. Grocery - I find a wide variety here, and a nice bulk and freezer section too. Lots of special needs food (gluten free, etc). My husband and I used to love this place. Had no problem spending $50-100 a week for their natural/organic foods or the meal deals. Last November my husband ran and got me a steak meal deal for dinner the next day at work. I warmed up entire container unopened in the microwave. Not a problem until my 3rd nite when I crunched down on something so hard I thought I was going to spit my molar out! I was so stunned, and feeling unconscious, I spun around in my chair and immediately spit out the meat in the trash. I called good harvest once I regained orientation told them about what happened and assured them this is not me attempting to gain anything from them. According to policy they had to report it to their insurance company. The insurance company wanted the spit out piece of meat I chewed on... well I work for a hospital and that's the trash I spit it out in. I can understand their need for proof and that's fine but I'm not dumpster diving into hospital trash for a piece of chewed up meat to prove this is what happened. I explained to the insurance company the Monday after (this happened on a Friday) that I was experiencing painful headaches and cold sensitivity and I thought I ought to make a dentist appt. the woman on the phone ADVISED ME NOT TO. It's been quite a few months since then, they've denied my insurance claim to pay for my dental bills based on the "investigation" that she called the kitchen and "nothing was broken off" and I can't prove something hard was in their prepared food. Problem is, they can't prove it wasn't them either so we continue to be at a stalemate. They requested my dental records which are not available yet because I'm still receiving dental care to the tune of $3000 now. Good harvest's food caused my fractured molar which resulted in a root canal and crown. They definitely don't have the community values they claim to just do the right thing. I won't pursue this any longer. Be careful. A meal deal cost me big time. read more

This was my first and last visit to this store. Everything I bought was on sale but since I didn't have time to fill out the extensive paperwork to become a member, they refused give me the sale price. My daughter takes dance class down the street, so I asked to take the application with me. I couldn't be late picking up my daughter! Ate lunch here today and chose their "pecan salad" special with chicken added. $14.99--which to me, is very pricey. I expected an awesome, special salad...and it was not. I basically received a dinner plate with mixed greens, pecans, dried cranberries, and chicken, tossed with a vinaigrette. Value = $5.00 tops. Absolutely nothing special, lacking taste, very disappointing, and over-priced. Did I also mention that I waited about 20 minutes to get this salad? Stay far far away from this place if you have a breathing condition, they will harass you in the most disgusting way!!!! I came in with my Mom on their mask required day because I needed food immediately. I pulled my mask down one time to take a breath and a manager came out of the back and started rudely barking orders at me to pull it up back up. After I did, she preceeds to follow us around the store and continue to yell at us. We weren't bothering anyone and there was literally no one around us when she did that. Completely insane how someone can think they have authority over what I do with my body. It's like she was on a vendetta to attack us. What happened to the customer is always right well not at good harvest. You're only a liability for your dirty dna in their eyes. I used to love this store too. They have very good quality food, well it's not worth it if I have to be verbally abused just to buy organic chicken liver. It's unbelievable how one government agency can turn people into the most rude, disrespectful, vile people on the planet. It was good doing business before but I will gladly take my money somewhere where I don't have to fear someone is going to harrass me over my medical condition. I had not been at Good Harvest since they moved to the new location. I was kind of lost looking for specific foods to help in dealing with an illness. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Wellness counter, and that employee (I unfortunately didn't get her name), along with another very knowledgeable employee, Mary, helped me. Mary not only had heard of the condition I had, but said I was far from the first person looking for help in that regard. She knew exactly what the doctor had suggested, and even offered to help by email if I had questions on preparing tofu. I have never had that at a grocery store. I went to the Good Harvest Café after work today and ordered the Good Harvest burger and the Falafel meal to go. Ashley S took my order and was pleasant enough. I quickly did some shopping in the grocery area while waiting for my meals. Thirty five minutes went by and my meals still weren't up and it was NOT busy. Finally the cook commented to Ashley that the boxed meals have been waiting for a while. She just shrugged her shoulders and walked away which really _issed me off! I won't go back to the café. Still love the grocery store side where all the staff are friendly and helpful. Maybe this millennial should get some training on customer service skills from her coworkers. I start my grocery shopping here each week. The produce is fresh, the fresh prepared foods are very good. For items I can't find here, there is a Pic'N'Save around the corner so I can finish grocery shopping without burning extra miles. I'm shocked by a review that states GH is more expensive. You get what you pay for!!! Quality fresh products, that are organic and great for your body! We have Celiac in our family so i shop here every week. I've found the prices to be comparable or cheaper than other markets of this kind. Trader Joe's may be less expensive but I'm not going to drive out there and deal with the traffic when i have GH right here in Waukesha. The employees are very helpful and accommodating. Just learning all of this gluten-free stuff and trying to create a healthier lifestyle for my family, i appreciate their help with explaining products. They frequently offer yummy samples too. Each month GH sends out a newsletter to inform their shoppers of their latest and greatest along with specials and a recipe. Each month they also have a gluten free dinner! I also eat lunch if I'm there at that time. I love the chicken quesadilla. I always feel so healthy and happy after I'm done shopping and eating at GH. GH is also into helping the local community! If you bring in your own bags you receive a token to donate toward a variety of local charities. Also, if you're a frequent shopper you receive a rebate card at the end of the year. A decent selection considering it's really the only health food store in the west/north west part of Waukesha. Their prices are definitely higher than Whole Foods or many other places I've been to. I'll head here if I'm in a pinch for something organic that I can't find in a standard grocery store. I've had 4 or 5 lunches here and think the food is fresh and the serving size just right. Sandwich prices are around $8. Everything is heathly with sides that include fresh fruit instead of chips/frys/etc. Allow 30-45 minutes for lunch since they tend to have only 1 (sometimes 2) preparers behind the counter. Great place to have tasty and healthy Sandwiches and SALADS. Yes, they have wide variety of salads and they are yummy too!! Try their apple Quinoa salad and you will love it. Hot paninis are so tasty and the portions are just right for an average adult. And their fresh produce is also worth buying. Review is for the cafe. The place is clean, the help is friendly. Always someone at the register. They know everything about the smoothies and menu items. Unfortunately, thats where the pleasure ends. Menus...there's 5 that I'd counted, all handwritten. Hard to read and too much info. There's another mini-menu printed on blue paper. Whoa, yet another menu on the tables...some of them. Food has no pictures and after someone came in behind us, id just picked something at random off the specials menu and a smoothie. $18. The smoothie was perfect, but id chosen one that had fruit I dont like too much, but it was so fresh I didnt mind. Food took a long time. There were never more than 1-2 people waiting for their order, and everyone was waiting a while, maybe 15-20 minutes. We sat down and werent called for our food for about that long, nobody before us, 2-3 single people after we ordered. Not sure if thats normal for that place or not. Food didnt look good, didnt taste good. If I didn't order my meal by name and read the description, I would not be able to tell you what was in it even after I had tasted it. It really did not look very good. I didn't really care too much, I ate all of it. But some of the condiments were not good at all. The employees try very hard the only failure is that this is just a little cafe, and in a grocery store at that. I probably would not have written a review, except to compliment the help and hope that the food gets better sometime soon, or at least organize the menu so I can find something that I might like. At this point comma somebody rushed out of the kitchen . I don't know who the guy is, he was wearing a polo shirt I think and not a uniform or apron like the other people, but he emerged from the kitchen and poured himself an alcoholic beer from the beer tappers at the side of the kitchen and walked outside. I had thought maybe he had stolen it but he did come from behind the kitchen. He walked out the door to the parking lot where his black Lexus was parked and he drove off drinking the beer. If that is a manager or the owner of the store, not only is that a terrible thing to do, but extremely stupid doing it in front of a customer. That really upset me, and Disturbed my entire experience there because I am a victim of a drunk driver. I probably wouldn't have discovered Good Harvest had I not worked next door to it for a year. It's the western Milwaukee suburb's answer to Outpost Natural foods, but a bit smaller in scale. Good Harvest has a great little cafe with interesting food, teas and coffee, and it's got a nice enough seating area. Everything in the store is reportedly organic, trans-fat and MSG-free. My only beef with Good Harvest is that their produce department is very small, although they earn some points back for hosting community activities and sampling food samples in the store. read more

So, I originally wrote a review on this Yelp page about how awesome the cafe was, but then realized this page is for the grocery store and there is another Yelp profile for the cafe. Once I realized this, I felt obligated to shop at the grocery store so I could rate that too! This grocery store is equally as awesome if you like healthy food options. It's clean, the staff are nice, and the prices are pretty reasonable for an organic food type grocery store. If I lived in the area I would definitely do most of my grocery shopping here.
