I really like Boost's approach to doing business. Approachable studio and staff from my 1st booking into walking into class (heights studio) My favorite class is their stretch. I definitely need this in my life ! It opens up my body, mind, and spirit. Certainly adds value to my wellness and fitness routine !

I walked to the door at approximately 12:01 due to construction and terrible parking that they didn't warn clients about. My GPS said I would be there on time so this isn't a personal issue of getting there late. Annabelle, who was the instructor, made a comment about "next time, be here on time" which was extremely insensitive. She wasn't helpful at all or understanding. I recommend OneSweat or Happy Hour where parking is best even when it's a full class. If you only have 2 spots for pilate clients, how do you expect clients to be there on time? Oh yes. This is a great Pilates place. There are a couple of parking spots in front of the studio…read moreand street parking of course. I loved the music, intensity, and flow of the class. It was definitely hard and challenging but that's what makes it so great. Loved the reformer class with Kemi. She's great at adjustments and encouraging the class individually and as a whole. Check in was super easy. There's an iPad on the wall and you just check in independently and pick out the reformer you want. Theres a nice big mirror the spans an entire wall. Lots of core strength and a couple of cubbies to place your things. Grip socks are not required but I wore them because safety first. Lots of pulses. Can't wait to go again and feel the burn and muscles spasm.

If I were new, it would probably be more like 2-3 stars. There's been a turnover of instructors, and they are rallying. While the new teachers are nice and putting in the effort, they lack foundational Pilates knowledge. Classes are similar to a spin class because instructors talk and encourage the WHOLE time. It ends up being a bit chaotic because people can't distinguish between the cheerleading, the necessary cues, or spring changes. Most importantly, the detailed form cues and corrections are missing. Classes feel rushed and lack clear direction on technique, which is the opposite of what Pilates should be. Classes can still be hard and appropriately paced. The cues and form are what makes Pilates hard, not rushing through moves. (Its also physically impossible to do a weighted low squat and a shoulder press within 1 second- let alone safely on a reformer. Why are we doing this?) It seems they all went to the same training class and haven't trained with different instructors so it's a problem across the 6-8 teachers I've tried in the last 3 months. If it weren't for Stacey and Caroline, I'd have moved to a closer studio by now. I hope the instructors undergo more training and are introduced to more than one type of teaching so they develop their own style. People are nice, and they are trying, but they aren't there yet.

I never feel pressured to do something I don't feel like my body can do, and the instructors are always providing modifications. It makes it feel all the sweeter when I find myself not needing to do certain modifications later down the road! I really like some of the instructors playlists; they can really set the mood for the class! They also change the lighting and fans based on the intensity and vibes of the class. My exercise happy place!

There's a few parking spaces in the front and another small parking lot in the back. That's also where the entrance door is. They have a special deal for three classes for two weeks for first timer. They offer morning classes throughout the entire week which fit with my schedule. Be sure to reserve a spot as there is limited amount of spots for each class. You can electronically sign in when you come to class. It's first come first serve so pick any reformer you want. The instructors are friendly and helpful if it's your first time. I did feel a bit sore after class but it felt good. Would definitely come back.

We wanted to continue this once we returned to Houston, but we didn't want to find a studio with 30+ students and the Pilates classes at our current gym didn't give us any feedback on whether we were doing the positions/moves correctly. We turned to yelp for help :) We were looking for the following in a studio to supplement our gym membership: 1) small classes 2) personal attention 3) encouraging and attentive teachers This studio has all 3 of these things, but it's not limited to Pilates! They have yoga and cycling classes that meet the above three requirements too! We've only been members since October, but we look forward to our weekly classes. What's really nice is the class feels tailored to us. My husband and I have different bodies (height, strength, flexibility, etc), and the teachers really adapt to us! They'll change certain routines to ensure each student is getting the most of the session. It's a great personalized experience, and your body will thank you. I've already noticed better posture and just awareness of how I hold myself when doing everyday things at home or at work. What a neat find - thank you, yelpers!

Apparently missing the first few minutes means you're suddenly "not warmed up," as if 5 minutes in a 50-minute class makes any real difference. While I really enjoyed the workout and how I felt after I did not appreciate the lady being pissed off the whole time. Homegirl kept aggressively yelling at me to not hold the bar and maybe I need to girl this is my first class not everyone is at the same level. She looked and acted like she was on testosterone. She's lucky I brought my neighbor and I was trying to play nice in front of her because were it just me there I would not have dealt with being talked to like that you could tell she was just an angry woman. Another thing I want to point out is it it's all abs here. Like the workout pretty much feels like you're holding a plank for one hour like they only work out the abs. Every other Pilates class I've seen or even the mat Pilates ones (I guess those aren't the real ones) I don't know they work out different muscles. But it's very core centered here so if you like that, go for it. But don't let these bishes try you that's all I'm saying hahaha. In my opinion f45 is a better work out if you're tryna hit alll the muscle groups.

This is a great spot to try some good coffee or matcha and get some work done or catch up with…read morefriends. I've ordered both espresso and matcha lattes, and although I'm more of a coffee person they were both so tasty! The interior is very open with lots of light, and there are a lot of seating options so I've never had trouble finding a place to sit. Wifi is fast and convenient for studying or working. Parking is also very easy. I will definitely be back! I've also tried a pilates class at their attached studio which was a lot of fun! The classes are small and intimate, and the lighting is definitely a vibe.

I…read morefirst learned about Duo through signing up for a pilates class, and I fell in love with the place more through the people and the vibes in the connected coffeehouse. From a chat with the barista, I learned that Duo started because the husband had a love for coffee and the wife had a passion for pilates, so they thought "why not combine the two?" The River Oaks location is the founding store and they have since expanded to a second location as well. The people who work here truly seem happy and are eager to share the stories of their founders, which makes the place even more special. During my visit, I tried the birthday cake latte, which is a seasonal drink, and the flavors were also beyond what I've tried elsewhere. I'm typically not a fan of birthday cake flavored items, but I was feeling adventurous so I told the barista to surprise me with a drink from their menu and that's the flavor they ended up picking for me. When I received the birthday cake latte, I wasn't all that excited but all prejudice fell away after the first sip! I didn't adjust any sugar or ice levels like I typically do for my drinks, yet the drink was just right! Overall, I am just amazed by the people, the vision, and the gem of a place that I sort of happened into on a random weekend. I will definitely be returning again frequently for pilates, lattes, and/or fun conversations. Pro tip: initially it looks like visitors have to use street parking, but I confirmed with the staff that the parking lot across from the coffeehouse is free to use as well. Pro tip #2: there is option to order ahead with the QR code in image attached. I have not tried, but that may help skip the lines and make it easier for drink pickup. Pro tip#3: going for pilates here makes it so much easier to grab a quick bite or drink before/after workout!
