A simple breakfast, eggs, bacon and toast. Just what I needed

I wasn't feeling my best and need a quick bite to eat. I searched on YELP to find something close by. Well Pilich Station Grill was everything I needed. Great service, great food and not too far from my house. I will definitely be back

Short order of French toast with fresh strawberries was perfect for my 82 yo mom!

Found this tiny spot on Yelp. It got so many wonderful reviews, I had to check it out. It is DEFINITELY worth the visit. Everything is wonderful and made with love . Don't miss out! Try the specials. They are GOOD.

Service is impeccable. The hostess which I assume is one of the owners was so friendly and accommodating. Constantly checking in and topping off our coffee! Very relaxing and calm vibe when we visited on a Monday around 11. Food portions generous! Will most definitely come back to try other menu items!

After seeing 5 stars and 81 reviews I thought this would be the best place for breakfast while I was in the area. When I drove up I thought that they were closed because not a single car was in the parking lot, red flag but I went in anyway. The breakfast menu was limited and categorized with groups of three, omelets, skillets, wraps and eggs only had three options for some reason which I was not feeling any of them. I settled on the meat lovers wrap which came fast and hot. I was kind of disappointed when my breakfast hit the table because it was a wrap only on the plate and nothing else, most every other restaurant serves a side with a plate and other pictures of the wraps shows a side with them. I use to think places were cheapskates when they give chips as a side but this is beyond that because potatoes and veggies are so cheap. The meat lovers wrap came super hot but after the first few bites the meat lovers flavor didn't develop because all I could taste was the scrambled eggs and the tortilla. The meat lovers wrap is just meat and eggs, no cheese or anything else to layer flavors so it was a very boring breakfast to sat the least. I don't know if it was the wrong place or the wrong dish but my weekend out of town breakfast was pretty disappointing and I wouldn't return, swing and a miss here.

Wonderful little spot. Popped in for breakfast, and left nothing on the plate. Server was super sweet. Would eat here again!

On a Saturday morning around 11am there was surprisingly no wait but I also think we got the last available table inside. Note here that they do offer outdoor seating. Anyways, we sat smack dab in the middle of the restaurant and got to observe a lot. After sitting a young lady brought waters over to the table. I asked her a quick question but she noticeably had AirPods in and didn't respond. I was just looking for the bathroom but I found it myself. It was clean and well stocked. Our waitress was nice. Attentive and present. We ordered the 2+2+2+2 and a Moons over Miami sandwich. The food took less than 10 minutes to arrive and everything was very hot. My mom and I both enjoyed our breakfast. I personally really enjoyed the French toast. I thought the portions were filling. At the end we were asked if we'd be paying by cash or card. A ticket was never presented but we were just verbally told an amount. I thought that was kind of odd. We chose cash because you get a discount. We asked again what the total was and she again just verbally told us and then took the cash. We had exact change but I still think it was weird to not have a visual. Overall, this was a great meal and an overall good experience. I'd add this to your list of breakfast spots to try in the area.

Today I decided to switch it up and order through Uber Eats, and I'm happy to say the experience was just as great. The food still arrived fresh, hot, and full of flavor--just like when I dine in or pick up. Consistency is everything, and Lumes continues to deliver every time. Definitely one of my go-to spots for a solid, satisfying breakfast!

There will be more than enough food to not only satisfy both of you, but there will even be leftovers to take home in a doggy bag. I stopped in and ordered the Grits Bowl, which came with eggs and pancakes. The grits bowl did not hit the spot for me. While I ordinarily love cheese, I also love everything in the right place, time, and amount. Having the entire top of a large-diameter bowl covered in a layer of cheese was excessive. Going a little deeper, there were a handful of shrimp, though they were overcooked to the point of being rubbery. As for the grits, by themselves, they were bland and wholly unremarkable. Together with the cheese, veggies, and spices up top, the spoonful becomes better, though on their own, neither texture nor flavor delivered. When it comes to eggs, I requested these as over medium, though they were delivered as over-easy. I didn't want to be *that* guy sending these back over something so trivial. I was very surprised that there were four of them... many places stick to two, three at the most. Finally, we come to the pancakes. These were the highlight of the meal. In the very short stack of two, the first one had the right flavors, but the texture of an extremely lightly crisp exterior with a pillowy interior wasn't there. The second pancake, however, absolutely nailed it across the board. When it comes to the prices, what Lume's lacks in quality, they make up for in sheer volume. While large portions don't quite work on me, I do appreciate that one can at least get their money's worth. Final verdict: Given my preferences, the only thing Lume's has that would pull me back are their pancakes. If I lived closer to Beverley, I would be open to retuning to get a pancake-based dish. However, outside of this, the experience was not one that demands a return visit.

Their gluten-free toast is excellent. I will definitely go back. I had trouble once again, however, with basic communication and it certainly wasn't on my end. I wanted the breakfast taco special but asked for a side of gluten-free toast instead of the corn tortillas as it was described (I don't like corn tortillas). I was told they "aren't allowed to make modifications," which actually makes no sense. First of all, you're basically telling the customer they can't have the simple and sensible modification they're asking for and that's not OK. So, knowing how people in this part of the country are with understanding things, I said fine and asked to just make it without the tortillas... because apparently asking for a side of toast was too much information to put together. Well, that was confusing too. Not surprised. So, finally I just ordered the darn dish exactly as it was described and said, "OK, I will just scrape the eggs off the tortillas." Meaning HELLO, you're making the customer work to do something easy you seem to not be able to do. Eventually, another person came over (the manager?) and suggested they turn the breakfast taco special into a sandwich with gluten-free toast. I was dumbfounded. I've been in Illinois for 11 years (married) and people out here are just very slow to put information together. I don't get it and it's actually pretty alarming. So, anyway, the manager (?) finally suggested that they "could just make it without tortillas and bring me a side of toast." I was like YEP. That is exactly how I ordered it the first time. Welcome to the Midwest. But anyway, they walked away like I was the problem. Again, I've been dealing with this out here for years. Most people have no idea what's going on and they make everything more complicated.
