My MIL always gets the pork chops so I did as well and they were DELICIOUS! Nice, juicy and fried to perfection! Our server was amazing, she treated us like Queens! We felt right at home! Went twice already. Walked in and got seated fast even though it looked busy which was nice! Server was attentive and got our drinks and order in fast. Big fans of the cinnamon French toast. The Florentine Benedict was tasty too. I got 3 eggs and that was nice because I thought it would be one egg per English muffins. Only downside is that I wish I got some more food to for sure be full but it's pretty dependable for a quick bite. Debbie diner! That's her name! She was beyond amazing. She's the one with the platinum white hair with a Bob and twirled to the side. What a true old school waitress. Ladies, take a lesson from her. She reminded me of the old school diner ladies who took her job to the top by being kind and just hard working. When she was on a little break from customers, I observed her cleaning off syrup bottles and disinfecting things around. WOW! In this time that we ate in. This is such a plus to see! 11 years ago, my brand new wife and I stopped in here for breakfast the morning after we got married and it was very good. We've stopped in a couple times since then, but it had been awhile since doing so. We stopped in this morning for breakfast and we were surprised! Not sure when they painted the inside and got new tables/chairs but it's so bright and new. Beautiful! The food was good, just like I would expect from a place like this. Side of toast, pancakes, or French toast? Who has a side of French toast? Plus, she offered us free soup to go. The biggest shock was the bill, $48. Similar breakfasts for a family of three with one 6-yr-old are over $70, which is why we've curtailed going out for breakfast. We'll be back soon! read more

Attentive Fast and Friendly This is just a nice family slash community restaurant. The staff were all friendly and greeted many of the diners by their first names when they were seated. It's true when people say "Eat where the locals eat". It's a diner style cafe complete with a "bar" front for singles. Everything is clean and orderly. The decor is kitschy but in neither a good or bad way. The bathroom is tiny but clean as well. The service was amazing. My waitress was more attentive than I've seen in a long time. And she did it without hovering. She was always moving. I ordered my food and before I could finish my coffee she was bringing it to me. The food itself was enjoyable. Typical family restaurant fare. The portions were a good size and it was cooked well. I can definitely recommend this restaurant for a great overall experience. It's Nothing fancy, just done well. I hate to do this because I am not one to bash businesses because I do understand it really affects them financially. Today I ordered an American cheese omelette with well done hash browns. It was the worst omelette I've ever had in my life. The eggs were burnt and flat as can be. Not like a normal fluffy omelette. The cheese was a slice of American cheese that wasn't even melted. You can still see the square cheese shape. The hash browns were very oily. This is the first time in my 34 years of life that I only had a few bites of my breakfast and threw the rest away. I remember when this was a Chicken Unlimited over 40 years ago and then turned into Okey-Dokey until 1990 when Eggman's opened per the owner who couldn't have been nicer and greets all the patrons. Neat little place for breakfast...right on the corner of 127th and Pulaski Road. This is one of those Greek kind of places that offers 3,000 things on their menu...all made from the same two dozen food items. But for breakfast this is a treat. You can get your eggs all the usual ways, with all the usual meats and sides. Breakfast is good. The wait staff was spot on...friendly and perky and talkative. This is not a community restaurant, despite how the community came together to support this business during the height of the pandemic by eating outside and following all of the US government protocols, when it was time for Mr. Egg man to return the favor to the community he unapologetically installed inflationary prices. When I complained to Mr. egg man as I was paying my bill his attitude was capricious and cavalier. He indicated that I should read the menu or go elsewhere. I do not mind spending $11 for two eggs in Las Vegas but not in my working class community of Alsip, Illinois. When I think of all the times I was greeted with a smile at the doorway by this man. However, the first complaint about his prices ended his smile. I was summarily dismissed. When a family sits down to eat they will order less. This place is four stars all the way around except for its bathrooms' wheelchair inaccessibility--and the fact that there's racist graffiti in the men's-room stall. I understand that businesses aren't responsible for how people deface their property, but there are some messages that should be blotted out at all costs. If you have to sand down the partition, so be it. Better yet, why not just paint over it and put some kind of tape over that? The servers are very friendly, as is George, the owner. The 2 egg breakfast comes with three smaller eggs, the Greeks love these little tricks to get people all a buzz. My father was convinced for over ten years that a certain South Side establishment only served double yolk eggs. I would argue over breakfast at the unlikely ability of a food purveyor isolating all the multi embreyoed eggs. We never settled this point of contention. I digress, the eggs seemed fresh, but the hash browns were sparse and suspicious looking, too uniform, not browned enough, and not seasoned. The sausage tasted fine, but had a strange coloring. Not rotten, just had a yellowish hue. The toast was a tad over buttered, and the coffee although always hot and full was weak. I am a big fan of breakfast diners since I love breakfast foods in general. I live close to eggman's but today was my first time here. It's a monday morning and I met a friend who works a weird shift and just got off work. It was 10am and we were seated right away, given coffee right away, and the waitress was super friendly and fast. Overall my food was a look like most diner meals. The menu is pretty extensive and I may have to come back for lunch sometime. Overall, I like this place. Our total was $21 for two coffees and two breakfast meals. It was 11AM-ish on a Saturday so it was a tight squeeze, which is fine. Ordered the bacon/sausage/ham skillet and wife ordered an omelet. Food took a while and arrived less than piping hot. Still it was pretty good and was about 1/2way through when a COCKROACH appeared from behind the napkin dispenser and strolled across the table towards the jelly bowl. That was it. There really isn't much to say about this place. Its an over all mediocre place. They give away free soup, even if you just get coffee. I usually get an omelette of some sort. They really do get points for being a speedy breakfast joint. I have never had a problem with service here, I've been going here for about a year now. My girlfriend and I enjoy going out for breakfast on Sundays, and its right down the street. But honestly, if it wasn't so close, I probably wouldn't ever go.
