I am in the process of purchasing a house and did not know where to find a great home inspector. I…read moredecided to give Yelp a try since I have used it in the past to get quotes for other things. I got a response from Mark on 05/11/24, and we talked on the phone for over 5 minutes to discuss the location of the house, the best time to do the inspection, and the prices. He was patient as I asked many questions, and I never felt rushed. We decided to the home inspection on 05/13/24. On 05/12/24, it rained very hard, and I was concerned about the new house since it is located next to a drainage system. Fortunately, Mark was doing another home inspection in the area and dropped by to take some pictures for me, mind you, I did not even ask him to do so. He just thought it was a good idea to do so since he was in the area. He sent pictures and confirmed that the basement was not affected. I appreciate this so much as it gives me a peace of mind. On 05/13/24 Mark, my realtor, and I went to the house for the home inspection. Mark is very thorough and meticulous with everything. He took his time to explain everything to me and answered all my questions. He even spent around 5 minutes on the roof to ensure there is no problem with it. He also did the radon test for me. I am extremely satisfied with the services provided by Mark. I highly recommend him.

Everything went well. The owner was attentive and responsive. Would like to hire again if needed.read more

I recently had a home inspection with EmcoSpec Inspection Systems and Mr. Jordan is very…read moreprofessional, helpful and a true pleasure to work with. His inspection was extremely informative; not only of repair required but of what could be done in the future to reduce overall energy costs. When going through the inspection, it's easy to recognize he is well seasoned and knows his craft. I was extremely pleased with his work. The inspection comes with a summary and full inspection reports, as well as a resource binder to keep for the future.

When it comes to Home Inspections, EmcoSpec is as good as it gets. Their inspection was conducted…read moreby their owner, John Jordan who has more licenses and certifications then I can count. This is important because, often the case, home inspectors are people that watch a few videos on YouTube and grab a Square credit card reader and some magnetic signs calling themselves inspectors. Not the case with John, who was well seasoned. When it comes to home inspectors this is what you want, as each home is unique, the more you see, the more you can identify defects and the better an inspector you are. John embraces technology, not only in his inspections but in his reports which are detailed, and accessible online. Another thing about home inspectors and this one is the most important. John does not have your Realtor in his back pocket. Many times home inspectors are not working for you, they are working for your Realtor. Your Realtor wants a "clean" inspection, so they will minimize their findings to push the sell thru so the Realtor can get his commission. Not the case with EmcoSpec. On a final note, John may be in Southern Maryland but he is LICENSED in the Commonwealth of Virginia and Maryland and drove in a ton of traffic to do my inspection on a hot day, and still spent a ton of time detailing every inch of the attic as the sun came blistering down on his head. 1st rate inspection for sure!
