The store is great for your shopping needs if you don't want to order online however people are right about the customer service. I asked about a few items and their sizes and I got rude responses. I feel like if you're not "dressed pinup" (even though you have the knowledge of the style) they'll blow you off as someone to not give common courtesy to. My 14 year old daughter, who is very tall and has a very hard time finding clothes that she likes, wanted to come here for her 8th grade promotion and dance dress. We walked in and found a few things, my daughter went to the dressing room where the owner was working and wow! It was so wonderful to go into a store and have knowledgeable and professional help! The owner recommended a few dresses and my daughter fell in love with them. She also put all of the accessories together for us and we were out the door with two super cute outfits that my daughter absolutely loves! I took my daughter shopping here for her winter formal, and I got the message loud and clear that they HATE customers. Weirdest and most insulting shopping experience of my life. Salesperson would literally talk "through" me and wouldn't acknowledge my existence. They have all these weird, petty rules that seem to indicate they have little trust in their patrons. Note from my girlfriend: I went to the Pin up Bootique today to try on a dress that I had been dreaming about for years. This dress is my dream dress so I was very excited to try it on and possibly leave the store with it. However, the experience that I had with a staff member has ruined my perspective of this store. The staff member that had "helped" me made several rude remarks about my size (even though I am a small to medium) and was rude anytime I asked a question or needed help. She repeatedly brought up the fact that she did not think I was small enough for the dress that she had, and compared me to "the double zero girls" that she gets in there, thus saying that I am "much bigger" than they are. I wouldn't recommend going to this shop to anyone that I know. They will make your experience painful and you will end up leaving the store very self conscious as I did. I hope they can acknowledge their mistakes because while the shop itself is very nice and the clothing beautiful, the staff member in question needs work. read more

Came in today not really sure or knowing what I was necessarily looking for just knowing I wanted something classy and cute for a wedding I plan on going to, not having ever been to a wedding before I talked with two of the employees( Jessica and Kyleen) asking for advice instead of advice they both helped me find clothes that would be suiting for the theme and respected the restrictions I had. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a place in the Ontario Mills mall. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find an outfit for this 60's party. This boutique was perfect! They had everything from polka dot dresses to platform shoes, hair accessories, the whole bit! It was a little pricey for an outfit I would probably only wear one time, but the material and look appear to be of pretty good quality, so the saying "you get what you pay for" applies here. The ladies were very helpful with suggestions to putting the perfect outfit together. They also have something for the men. Just a great boutique if you ever need something from that era. I was in dire need of a formal dress for a dinner and I was having a very hard time finding one. Finally happened on this store and found a dress that actually fit my body type. I went home and hung it up. The day before the dinner I took it out and to my surprise the Seams were coming undone. Mind you I have not worn this dress yet. I tried it on in the store and wore it for mayyybe two minutes max. I called the store to see what I could do about it because I obviously bought it days before. She asked to see a picture, then proceeded to tell me it looked like it was stretched out. I told her I haven't worn it yet and she's like well did you try it on? So I'm the two minutes I had it on it got stretched out to the point of this? I don't think so. It fit perfectly so not sure how that's a thing. She's also said I should've noticed it when I tried it on. On the back of my dress I should've seen? Lol okay. So she said it's final sale so there's nothing we can do but I'll send the picture to the owner. Owner responded "final sale". So okay cool $100 dress that's coming apart is worthless. Thanks a lot. So I hadn't got my prom dress yet and my mom and I were freaking out. My mom and I had looked everywhere, online and in person, and we couldn't find the dress that covered all the things I wanted, and if we did, they didn't have my size. We ended going to the Ontario Mills, just for a family outing. As soon as my grandma saw one of the dresses being displayed on the window, she pointed it out to me, it was so beautiful AND it was everything I wanted in a dress. I was kind of nervous that they wouldn't have my size(they did end up having my size lol). I went in and asked one of the women working there. Her name is Jessica, and when I tell you, as soon as I met her I absolutely LOVED her vibe. She was so accommodating, anything I needed she helped me with. She was so honest on what she thought looked good and what didn't , and I absolutely loved that, because I knew she really cared if I looked ridiculous going to prom or not. She was also so sweet, and made sure to involve my mom in what she could do to help me look my best. Establishment needs work with offering a better exchange policy for when the merchandise and clothing sold is defective. Purchased a dress and staff assisted with zipping up the dress when trying on. She assisted with zipping back of dress in the dressing room and then unzipped after viewing the dress on. When I decided to purchase the dress, she took it from me to place at the front counter and then completed and bagged the dress with the purchase. When I got home, I pulled the dress out of the bag to find the thread was tangled and caught in the zipper. I called the store and was told that all sales are final and no exchanges. They do not stand behind their merchandise that they sell and now I have to pay even more to have this dress repaired because of the lack of workmanship and quality of their clothes. Be careful with your purchase from here and perhaps have them assist you with the quality of what you are buying. Because, for all you know, they might be purchasing their inventory from liquidation stores that sell irregularities at an extremely discounted price and selling at regular retail price at their location. read more

Sooo 2 stars, the store is very cute, lots of cute clothes! I bought the cutest bathing suit.... but it honestly felt like pulling teeth to get the lady to even take any down from the top rack for me. She ignored me for awhile while she spoke with her co-worker I'm assuming? Or friend? I don't know, but once she finally helped me , her first response to me wanting to see the bathing suits was " just so you know we only have large and extra large." Ok .... I have no clue why you would say that to me first not even having a clue what size I wear. Then starts pulling down bathing suits and out of the 3 bathing suits I basically begged for her to get down , 2 were a size medium. Then the third one I wanted she said I wouldn't want that one because it's a bikini and it looks like a face mask. I loved that one btw and I ended up with a large anyway ... and that's only half of my experience with this woman. Not sure why the bitter sideways remarks, but I spent almost $100 in the store that pays you... and I was treated like crap. Not cool, just sayin. But that's not why I'm writing this review, it was when she shamed a young woman for her chest in front of her father in one of their dresses that left a bitter taste in my mouth, " we are extremely honest here" she said. I've been going to the store in Montebello for years and I love it, but I was so disappointed with this one. The selection of clothes was still amazing, yet the lady working the register was so rude and had such a negative attitude. When I tried something on, I asked for the price and she just told me she didn't know. She was following us throughout the store, but did not offer any help. My younger cousin also asked to try something on, and the woman asked her how old she was. Once my cousin said she was 17 she responded with "Okay, but that's the only thing you get to try on." 9/21/19- I was skeptical... I was invited to a "Dapper" party and wasn't sure I could find something that wasn't too low cut. I called first and the lady was evasive however SOOOO happy I went. I was greeted when I walked in albeit to tell me to leave my beverage outside on the stand. But the ladies were sooooo helpful. All of them ESPECIALLY DIANA.. thank you for your patience I felt like I tried on a gzillion dresses (8), thanks for help with sizing, zippers and your opinion. Yes the dresses are expensive I suppose but nothing I wouldn't pay for a dress for work, church, or any special occasion (probably cheaper actually) my dress was only $69.99 But.... I'm worth it.. I ended up buying a dress, 2 pair of shoes ($59.99 each), belt ($15.99) and a flower ($7.99) for my hair... would've bought a purse but they were more so on the rockabilly side than 50's, 60's.... Customer service was shit. We were having a good day looking for prom dresses for my best friends little sister. When we got there everything was good and we were just trying on dresses. Than she wanted to try on a different dress and I asked one of the sales associates to get it down. Her name was Joanna. When she went to see if they had a size and brought it down they had the size before that and she said it wouldn't fit her. How rude. Me and my friend were pretty much in shock and after a few minutes I asked her to go get it down anyway and she did. AND WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT IT FREAKIN FIT. Long story short it made her feel like shit and now I'm calling the manager tomorrow morning. Being a sales associate I always tell people to give different sizes a chance. You don't tell people that they can't fit into things. It ruins people's self esteem and their perspective of themselves. EDIT: Manager reached out which is good. I'm not understanding the low ratings for this store or how going to a pinup store to buy pinup clothing and complaints about "cliche"?? All the clothing is really great if you are looking for your next outfit, anything from fancy, well made swing dresses (they also have the petticoats) to adorable separates! Shorts, pants, adorable accessories and shoes! Oh the sweet sunglasses and purses! The staff was very friendly and would help you out in anyway they could, even with a busy busy store and lots of customers! They are very honest and upfront about how the sizes run with each brand. I loved how helpful Cat was and how cute she was dressed! A rockstar of a gal and saleswoman! She knew all the brands and information about sizes and what they had in stock. Tried on some things and bought some things. Really the store is cute with lovely choices but their employees left me cold and uncomfortable. CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE IS CRAP. My sister & I came to Ontario Mills, having traveled over 60 miles, this past Saturday 3-25-16. We were patronizing businesses & spending $$$. But by the time we came to this store, we were literally snubbed. The guy at the cash register stopped in his tracks and stared at us with a scowl on his face. We NEVER heard so much as a "Welcome" or "May I assist you ?" Another male came out of nowhere to "follow" us, never offering any assistance whatsoever. A female employee on the floor passed us by, MULTIPLE times to assist the Caucasian customers that entered the store after us. That was the final straw. It didn't take long for my sister & I to decide that we would NOT be spending any money in this store. I plan to visit Pin Up Bootique today as I just heard about it from a friend and am a huge fan of 50s fashion. I order a lot of clothing online and think it would be fun to try on different clothes. The ratings are so low regarding the staff and Eli B., Cambridge, MA may have nailed the reason. I don't care what all the negatives review say because I am absolutely in love with this store and the girl who helped me was beyond exceptional.... Let me start by saying that I've recently developed a sick obsession with pinup clothing, specifically swing dresses. The selection they carry is just insane. All my favorite new brands, in various price ranges! My only issue with these types of stores is that I wish they carried more small sizes. I'm a small to xs and most pinup stores carry only a few small. Needless to say somehow I still walked out with 5 dresses and 2 belts. Not a bad day!! Now onto the staff, maybe the people who wrote bad reviews came in on a bad day, or they themselves are just moody people, because I encountered the best employee, jazmin, and she was so incredibly helpful! When I left the store the young lady even took down my number and told me that she will call me when any of the styles I like come in, and she will set them aside for me. So long story short... The staff was so incredibly helpful! The gal went size hunting for me and asked what occasion I was shopping for, she brought me several options and knew exactly what I needed for my figure. She was the most helpful person I'd run into all day after viewing poor selections at several other stores and being ignored by their associates. Also, I had been looking for a hair and makeup artist for the same occasion, they have flyers for the business who works on their calendar and helps with their catalogue models. They talked her business up and were super helpful in the information I needed for the referral. Their items are a little pricey, but I definitely would expect what they're charging for the adorable pinup styles they have. read more
