I like bowling. This bowling ally needs an update. They also have poor service. Just calling to ask questions had a person that acted like he did not want to be helpful. Then when we got there it did not get any better. Not a single smile in the place. So we put our name on the waiting list but the guy could not tell us what the wait time would be. He did not even want to give us an estimate. We actually left to go home but my friends called 40 minutes later and said they just got a text saying they had a lane open. So we drove all the way back. The bathrooms were dirty. The whole place looks like it needs help. Even the ceiling tiles are dirty and stained. The allies are very close. In my pictures you see a chair that you can sit in but it is not for an adult because you cannot get around the person easily to get to the bowling start point. So we had to stand and we were on top of each other. We had to become friends with the people next to us so we could spread out and have room to stand. We enjoyed each other so we had an ok time but We ALL agreed that we will never go back there again. THere are other bowling allies . I do have one positive thing to say The snack bar person was nice. We got a pitcher of soda and she was happy and trying to make sure our drink had the perfect amount of ice. read more

Pinboys is by far the best place to bowl on the planet. The old school vibes along with modern bowling tech and superior lane care management make for a great place to bowl. The staff and community of bowlers make you feel like family at Pinboy's which makes it so special and unique for me. It's hands down better than any other place that I have bowled period. It's the amazing human beings that run it and also call it their home bowling alley which make it an amazing bowling experience. They saved me from myself during a difficult period in my life along with my faith of course, but without the people at Pinboy's I don't want to think where I'd be. We've been here a couple of times now during Beach week. We got here around 1:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday and it was quite. Plenty of balls/sizes to choose from and rental shoes were in good shape. They have a grill with a good selection of snacks, sandwiches and pizza. Draft and bottled Beers are also available. We ended up playing a couple of games. Lanes and seating areas were clean. Service was friendly. We had a good time here and really need to make it a stop for every Beach week. read more

This is a fun place to hangout. I need to go more often to break in my bowling shoes. The owner was very nice and gave us a small discount for only having an hour to play. Even so we stayed maybe 15minutes after to finish the game. The entrance is actually in the back of the road. Some may confuse it. There is plenty of parking in the back. They service finger foods like mozzarella sticks fries and wings. As well as some beer to wash it down They have a vape/smoking room. There bathrooms have lockers for those that need it as well. We had an issue with our pins that we had to keep resetting which a bit of annoying but since we were just there to enjoy the night, we didn't make a big fuss about it. Came here for a kids birthday party. It was exactly what you would expect.....they had some arcade games and I believe 34 lanes which is awesome. It was loud with lots going on. Shoes were in good condition. Typical food.....nachos, chicken tenders, wings, pizza but damn the prices!!!!! Think twice before ordering. I don't mind paying for GOOD food but honestly this food is not great and crazy expensive. We paid $18.50 for a temptation sampler platter. Definitely not worth it. And I think a pitcher of Miller Lite was about $16!!!!! I felt like I was at the airport with these prices. But other than the prices for the quality everything else was good including the customer service. read more

This is such a gem! How have I never stopped in here before?! Came in two weeks ago for a date night. We chose to bowl as many games as we could with shoe rental included for two hours for $22 a person. This ended up being 4 games over those two hours and we had a blast. Arrived at around 4:30 and by the time we left at 6:30 the leagues were beginning with a silent auction and it was starting to get really full and busy but the folks up front did not rush us out at all. There are plenty of food options at the on-site bar with some tables spaced around but a lot of them are reserved for the specific numbered lanes. I saw the standard fare: pizza, nuggets, sandwiches, burgers, and fries but there were also a few surprise items on the menu that I didn't expect to see. We rented shoes and used their balls and found the lanes to be clean, but cozy (smaller) with older machines and computers that felt very retro. The inside looks like exactly what you expect at a 90's (retro) bowling hall. Very cute. Before leaving we played pool for an hour for $9 on the older pool tables listed for sale and had a great time. Plenty of parking, easy to get in and out of right off Laskin Rd and it is surrounded by tons of great spots to grab a drink or dinner before or after. read more

We've been loyal customers to this place and then the power hungry manager makes an appearance... our 8 year old daughter is autistic along with a gene disorder and has a breathing impairment yet he still demanded that she wear a mask. We at first politely mentioned her disabilities to which he said it doesn't matter, he doesn't care she needs to put one on anyways. Yes I pulled a Karen and yelled at the guy.. am I sorry? It's not very often that I come into bowling alleys since these places always seem to smell of cigarette smoke. I was here for a birthday party for my now six year old niece. I had gotten there a little early, so I was waiting around for a bit until the others had arrived. I ended up going between inside and outside while waiting. Once everyone was there and inside, we got everything set up for the party and getting everyone set up on the lanes. The kids had a great time with this, and many of the kids said they wanted to this for their birthday now. I'm not sure how much more I could take in this location though. When you go inside, you can tell that the place is dated. Although smoking is no longer allowed inside, they do have a "smoking" room open during league play only. However, the lanes we were assigned for the party were right by that room. Even though there was no league play at the time, you could smell the pungent cigarette smoke from in there come out when a staff member would go in that room to get something or store something in there, which was fairly constant during this visit. Also, you could still smell the smoke from within the carpeted area of the place as well, so at one point, there was smoking in there, but when the rules changed on smoking, the old carpet was left there to continue to spread the smell of it. One major issue I have with this place is that they have the "smoking" area literally right next to the entrance to the place. You really can't come in or out of this place without passing someone smoking right there by the door. They need to move the outdoor smoking area away from the main path to enter the place. It's bad enough that there's too much second hand smoke inside this place. Then to get more right out the door just adds to the frustration. Overall, I do like bowling, but I will likely not return to this location anytime soon. They need to move the outdoor smoking areas to places off the beaten path to get in and out of the place, as well as getting the carpet they do have replaced and that "smoking" room better ventilated so that the rest of us non-smokers don't have to breathe in every smoker's second hand smoke. read more

We didn't call ahead but they were still able to accommodate us even with the parties they already had scheduled. We got tator tots, funnel cake fries which they loved and some Mac and cheese bites. Three of us went to bowl for a couple of hours today. I read all the reviews and I was braced for... meh. Well, I'm not sure what the average reviews below are comparing to, but I was super-happy with Pinboys. Very clean, all over. The equipment was far from vintage. Color coded ball sizes. Plenty of seating behind the "pit." It was great. Bowling is more expensive than it used to be, but that's not Pinboy's fault. We had so much fun, we're considering joining the league... and we're not bowlers. read more

I went bowling here with my friends last night. I had a good overall experience. The staff was pleasant and I had fun. The only reason I'm not giving that fifth star was on account of the bathroom. The sinks in the women's room had short faucets, so when the water was on it hit the back of the basin. The pressure could be improved as well. The floor was also weirdly wet near the stalls. I don't recall seeing any female staff which could explain why there isn't much upkeep during hours, but I think they could still put up a sign for fifteen minutes to clean. read more

This was so so experience. The place looks dirty, the staff is not very attentive or friendly, and it smelled like smoke due to the inside smoking bar area. That being said the place was jam packed. We waited over an hour for a lane. There were 6 lanes blacked off for what looked like a league but only 2 people showed. In my opinion better organization and management of this would have made those lanes usable. Despite the negatives my two year old had fun bowling for the first time so that is why this wasn't a total flop! read more

Super fun time last night! It's been many years since most of us bowled and we all did well and had a blast. Since there was eight of us we had to wait about an hour to get two side by side lanes. Not to worry, there's plenty to do while you wait. There's a few pool tables, two in the general area and a couple more in a private bar area where there are TVs and dart board. - Pool is $9.50/hour - Shoe rental was $4/5 although because there was a hiccup with the computer system prior to start they waived the rental. - Bowling is $5.50/game - At 10pm the alley transforms into a disco floor with the lights going out and all the party lights and disco balls shining all over. - Of course, there's a bar with many drink options. It was beer for the gents and the ladies threw down on the mixed drinks. Overall, a very great place to go for a relatively inexpensive way to enjoy an evening with a group of friends. PS - Screw you, claw machine. Those things always take my money. read more

This place is definitely a place to call my second home. The atmosphere is wonderful everyone is like a family and when you see familiar faces it feels like a reunion and everyone talks story. The workers here are very helpful, thoughtful, kind and wonderful not only to me but everyone. Also if your looking for great service the food bar is always quick to order and fast to drop off the food to your table. I have never been disappointed with their food always made with love and the prices are affordable. I recommend this place to anyone or everyone. I went there last night for late night (10:30) with a bunch of my friends from HR FEN and we had a blast! We had seven lanes together and since there were so many of us, we got free shoe rentals! No one was there to be competitive we were just having fun. After a while they turned off the bright lights and just left on the party lights :) I think I actually had more fun dancing The Electric Slide and The Cupid Shuffle with one of the attendants and some of my friends than I did actually bowling. Pin Boys is always packed when I go! It's a great atmosphere and they have awesome deals! If you join their texting club, you can even receive free bowling sometimes! The environment is family friendly, as well as adult fun at night. The managers are always very friendly when greeting and checking you in for your games and shoes. The concessions staff could smile a little more, but they have a good selection of alcohol. I haven't tried the food yet, but I have heard it is good bowling alley food. Pinboy's has made some improvements over the recent months. Though bowling centers can be rather standard, Pinboy's put in a small tavern for patrons to enjoy their pitchers and food in front of televisions and with a couple of games. At this location you'll find league nights, rock n bowl, and other themes here and there. The staff and regulars are both rather friendly. When I first visited, I was brand new to Hampton Roads. More than one person introduced themselves and commented on my game. It felt good not only since it was my first time bowling in years, but also to see friendly faces in my new neighborhood. The equipment is in good shape. A suggestion for the business is that they're the only place that I've ever had to pay for my shoes before and then my strings after, but if that's the only gripe I have, I'll take it. read more

We visited on a Tuesday night to take advantage of 222 Tuesday, where we expected $2.22 games and long island iced teas until close as advertised on their website. When we arrived at the beginning of the deal which began at 8:00, a league was controlling almost all of the lanes and we were told there was a 45 minute wait which was not expected given the special they ran. We decided to get drinks at the bar to kill the time, but were then very confused to find that the drink special was only running for one hour. Overall, disappointing trip. read more

Kids had fun. It's a clean operation (for a bowling alley). The cafe is ok ...nothing special, just a grill and bar. The food is all freezer-to-fryer preparations so other than some high cholesterol fried foods, you probably will have to look elsewhere. The bowling is fine. Super fun date night! We went to rock n bowl. Great deal 16 dollars per person unlimited bowling 11 to close. The lights were down low, music was playing and cocktails were inexpensive , plus you get to bowl! The people there were super friendly.
