We recently hosted a birthday party at Flipper McCoy's in Virginia Beach and overall had a really…read morefun and positive experience. The biggest downside was the heat, especially upstairs in the laser tag area. It was uncomfortably hot and could definitely use better ventilation. The party room itself is on the smaller side and felt very cramped (only accommodates 12 bodies comfortably) and was warm too. The arcade noise carries in even with the door closed as the walls don't go up to the ceiling, but noise is expected in an arcade setting. That said, there were a lot of thoughtful touches that really stood out. The party room was decorated well, with detailed under the sea murals on the wall, and the place settings were surprisingly nice with sturdy glowing plastic plates, cups, and neatly arranged silverware that matched the neon and black-light theme. It made it feel more put-together than typical party setups. (Even though I decorated with my own decorations and partyware, as the birthday girl had a particular theme she wanted.)Our party attendant made it a point to check in to empty trash and make sure everything was going smoothly. One of the most appreciated features was that parents could watch the laser tag games from downstairs on the screens, and a few were even allowed to jump in and play with their kids at no extra charge, which was awesome. The kids absolutely loved the variety of arcade games and had a blast. Party pricing and packages were comparable to other venues, with three options to choose from, and we really liked being able to bring our own food and drinks. They were also very accommodating, since there wasn't a party before ours, they let us in early to decorate at no extra cost, and they didn't rush us out at the end, only asking for 30 minutes to reset the room for the next group. That flexibility made a huge difference, especially since we had the largest party package with multiple laser tag rounds plus arcade time, cake, and food. Parking was a bit tricky, but that was expected at the oceanfront (and we were glad it was the off-season). Most importantly, the kids had an amazing time and the birthday girl is already asking to have another party there, which says it all. A FUN venue with great staff and party flexibility, just be prepared for the heat, especially upstairs, the typical arcade noise (even in the party room) and the frustration of VB Oceanfront parking, as there isn't dedicated parking for the venue.

This arcade switched to a card system some years ago and sadly can't be trusted. Games were both…read moreover charging and under charging. This is something that may be either an intentional or nonintentional system of skimming money from distracted and over stimulated parents. Several dollar games were over charging, and some other games were under charging. When I brought it to the attention of the owners I was told about how many tickets I had, this was not what I was asking about. I was asking about what was going on with their system to where the price advertised and the priced charged where not aligned. My suggestion if this is not intentional would be for the business to reconsider using the third-party card service. Sadly, the majority of parents that go here load a card and give it to a child, and let's face no kid no matter how smart is going to be able to do math in an arcade like Flippers. I'm not sure if this is just a weak spot in business management or a completely intentional action to exploit the American tourist. I had photos of the games over charging me and the man I spoke with was not addressing the issue. The American Arcade is a fading experience that many kids today won't get the luxury of experiencing it in all its glory. Encouraging those in the arcade business to consider protecting the traditional aesthetic of arcades through the of physical tickets and actual money.

The cost was per lane vs per person and you pay at the counter in the bowling area. If you're in the military/a vet let them know as you get a DISCOUNT. Not only that, but shoe rental and sock are free, (normally around $3.50 each). Since I didn't go in with intentions to bowl I didn't bring any, but was able to get a free pair since my cousins benefit applied to everyone in the party. The socks are actually cute (to me). It was very busy on a Friday evening and the crowd seemed to be teens and adults. Very few small kids. The servers come to the lanes to take orders, and the tablet at the bowling lane has a button to press for their help. Since it was taking long, we just ordered drinks from the bar nearby. The food, ordered later was simple, but good. -Sunset strawberry sangria is good, but could use more strawberry flavor. - Mozzarella sticks are no different then what you'd get at the grocery store and for the price the amount given isn't enough. - Wings, got a double order, 1/2 sweet chili, 1/2 garlic parmesan. I've often seen the latter on menus and steered clear because it didn't sound appealing. However, since it was ordered (for the group) I figured I'd give it a try. It was Soooooo good that I before I left I placed a to go order. Servers and staff were overall kind, but very busy. Lots of running and trying to take care of everyone. There weren't many smiles, but I imagine they were focused on the task at hand. Anyway, be kind and be patient. If you're staying at a nearby hotel let them know your going to Apex. I did (as I inquired about directions) and was given afree pass for laser tag, which I gave away.

We arrived around 10 minutes after it opened and it was already starting to get busy. You can pay to play at the desk next to the bumper cars which is closest to the ropes course, escape rooms, axe throwing and go kart racing. They do offer military discounts with an ID, just ask. They will give you a ball color of your choice for game use when you pay. Clubs are at the entrance to the right of the golf course along with the score cards and pencils on the wall. I love how they have a place at each hole number to place the score card and pencil which also provides a surface to write down your score. The course is under black lights which the edges of the course are outlined. 9/2024 This was pleasantly fun! However, it was multi -sensory overload for me the moment I walked in. We were there to celebrate my niece's birthday as a belated birthday treat for her & we had family come in out of town, who also recently had a birthday. If you do research on their website you will discover they have A LOT to do! But like everyone has mentioned activities are individually priced. I feel like the more you book, the more you should get some combo discount. They do offer 15% off for military with an ID, but not online. Caveat - It's only in person with proof of ID and you can't come in earlier in the week or in advance and pay for attractions for the future and get the 15% military discount off. It has to be purchased & used on the same day for it to be applied. There are no military discounts on Dark Ride. Some attractions you need to book in advance online like bowling, escape rooms, axe throwing, & the simulators. Check their website for any changes. Saturdays are popular, so I signed a contract for advanced scheduled attractions so that my niece and cousin could participate in the activities they wanted, to prioritize & not be disappointed or waiting a long time to participate. You do get a discount if you do so but a signed contract & payment is due prior. You don't even have to come in person to do it. Either call or email for your inquiries and they can work something out for you. We didn't book a party although you can do that but a food minimum is required and a reserved room is only for 45 minutes. Skyla, one of the events coordinator made things super easy & convenient to book. She was very helpful answering questions. I had never been so I wasn't familiar where attractions were located. Once I found out, I planned all the activities on the same floor back to back for convenience & chose available times that were roughly 30 minutes apart. We just showed up, checked in at the desks located close to that attraction. Silas, one of the managers came to greet me and informed me where to go. He was pleasant and willing to answer any questions. We did the 30 minute Zombie Research Lab escape room. You want to check in 20 minutes prior to your reserved time. It was fun and we broke out with 7 min & 22 seconds left with a group of six. They have quality props and hints pop up on the tv monitor. Four of us participated in the ropes course. You're allotted 15 minutes to do whatever elements you want. They make you empty out all your pockets for safety since you're 40 feet above the ground over the bowling alley. I'm not sure if it was because we booked it as a group under a contract that it was only the 4 of us at the one session, but that was nice. There were maybe one or two elements that were challenging. But it was still fun! Our 3rd activity was axe throwing which is a flat fee regardless of the number of people, max of 6 per lane for an hour. Darrel was our instructor and he was fun! We really enjoyed ourselves and with some of us he really tried his best to help land some throws but some just couldn't. There were alot in our group that didn't participate but they were able to enjoy us throwing axes. My niece was killing it with her throwing skills. Our last activity was an hour of bowling. These are time sensitive so you better arrive 15 min earlier to get your rental shoes and pick your ball. We did the VIP lane which is an additional price but great because there are only 4 VIP lanes and they are away from the rest of the lanes. You can still see lanes 5 and on but there's a glass wall in between & it's a lot quieter. The seating is comfortable and enough to fit six people. Bowling is also a flat fee for an hour or more up to six people. Plus an additional $5 pp for shoe rentals. But if you have a military ID you can get up to six shoe rentals for free. You can also order food at your lanes but I don't think anyone came by to take our order. Unless someone in our group went up & ordered. Overall we spent from 2pm -7pm there. We even squeezed in a hologate game of Zombie Resurrection which is an adventure in itself!

Good size crowd but still plenty of room and game to easily get to and play. Started off with great service at the front desk, I believe the guys name is Cleary. He was very welcoming. We explained this was our first time in and asked for recomendations. He was very friendly and cordial and explained how everything worked. At the end of the visit we realized he gave great advice that allowed us to fully enjoy our visit. The vibe and ambiance was really good and had the true arcade feel. People were laughing and having lots of fun just like us. There were people enjoying food and drinks and relaxing in groups in the dining area, playing duck pin bowling, video games including guitar hero, playing pinball, skeetball, basketball shoot and football throwing games. I mean there was real fun being had by all including us. Didn't have food but had beer and played pinball and video games. I really like the beer taps because there were a lot of choices and I tried several different ones because you pour as little or as much as you want. I did about six oz pours and tried several ones. We will definitely be visiting Circuit Social again to get out and have fun and take our mind off things. Thank you for a good time. we needed it!!

One thing I really appreciated was the area reserved for kids three and under it's nice knowing the little ones have a safe space away from the bigger kids. Overall, we had a great experience. Kids everywhere, very loud and lots for them to do. It did look like a lot of fun. They have sections for the younger kids - 4 and under. Couches and tables throughout but hard to get on a busy day. I did see staff walking around. I am sure parents like taking there kids here - they probably sleep hard later.

I kept the children at the table because the food was to be served at 1045 but was not served until 1100 which made it more difficult for us to stay on schedule. 5. The "unlimited" green games was very unfortunate as the amount of green games was extremely minimal. I was very shocked at how little games were actually green. It would be very nice if after the $10 is spent that the kids could still play any game but just not receive tickets. That truly limited them and was such a bummer. 6. Multiple cards (to include my birthday boys bracelet) stopped working even for green games. While they worked to fix this it took away even more of their playing time which was very frustrating. The employees also wanted to know which kid and which games specifically thinking it was a game issue so that too took time to work through. 7. The gratuity auto placed on the receipt is not just on food but also on the cost of the game cards which is strange. In addition it is not listed as gratuity but something else which had I not prepared for that ahead of time I would have missed this entirely. 8. I ordered 3 platters (grapes/strawberries/cheese) and bacon (but this was per person pricing of a side) it would be very nice if you offered some sides options in addition to the two pancakes per person for this breakfast party. The other times have so many options and this one I had to piece together to feel complete. Over all the host for our party was very kind and worked her best for us I feel. But there were multiple unfortunate frustrations for us which was a bummer.

We've been to other locations and they have way more to offer. The "prizes" are SHEIN quality. Their employees are helpful but need to clean better. Every table or area we took a break at was dirty and we came during a slow time so it was not busy at all. The bathrooms were so nasty that I had to go out to the mall to take my little to use the restroom. We don't normally eat here during our morning visits so I can't say much on their food or drinks. Overall, if it wasn't for the kids asking to stop by I would never frequent this location. We now tend to go across the street to the small crane arcade afterwords to at least get some bang for our bucks.
