We are so lucky that Pinch a Penny started new pool construction. Our pool was their 2nd. From concept to design to construction, Scott and his team were fantastic. we could not be happier, the pool, the patio, the huge screen room over everything has truly changed our backyard into a real oasis. I tell everyone to look at their website and you will see a couple photos of what get to enjoy almost 365 days a year. I would recommend them without hesitation. I had my pool built by Pinch A Penny (Old Kings Road, Palm Coast). From start to finish, the entire project was better than I could have anticipated. I love the entire design for the pool, seating area, dining area, etc. The entire screened area is spectacular. My property had to be landscaped to direct a waterflow issue that I had prior to the pool and lanai being installed. They regraded the property and installed drains, etc. and now I have peace of mind and no flooding issues. Everyone that sees the lanai and pool are amazed at all of the entertainment area I now have as well as a beautiful pool built to my specifications! The entire Pinch A Penny crew, as well as all of the people they hired were professional, easy to get along with and answered all of my questions along the way. You guys are absolutely ridiculous. This is the 4rth time I came to this store(Palm Coast-Old Kings Road)in attempt to get my water tested and 4 chlorine refills. When I get up to the front door, the store is closed. There were a 1/2 dozen people getting out the their cars behind me and they were not happy. -THE COMPLAINT is that in the Facebook site and threw Google search it states that your store is open and when you try to call you don't even get threw to anyone nor recording stating that you will be closed. Common courtesy is to update your hours and closings there for you don't have customers going out of their way to your store just to find out that the doors are closed! I feel bad for this very elderly old couple that I witnessed walking from their vehicle using a WALKER. Just to be turned around. I alone with several others decided to go to Leslie's across the street. They at least post their true hours and they even indicate that they are open today. You just lost my business along with several other people! read more

Called and had a great conversation with Paul regarding some pool renovations, appeared very knowledgeable and helpful upfront. Coordinated an estimate and then never heard back with a quote . Called and left (~4) several messages for Paul, no reply. Called the main store number at least three times thinking he may be on vacation or dealing with something personal preventing him to respond.. I was told this was not the case and they would ensure he called me. Over a month since visit to develop a qoute and still no response. While they appeared very knowledgeable and professional initially, the lack of response leaves me to question customer service, potential workmanship and engagement. If you cant get the basic customer service and experience part right, you need to question more intensive and involved partnerships with this business. It pains me to write this as I use to enjoy shopping here for basic supplies etc. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Pinch a Penny pool maintenance for 3 years. I recently started working from home and happened to notice that the technician was not performing all of the work he was claiming to do. After bringing this to the attention of management (Darren) several times, he chose to believe the technician's claim that he was doing the work over a loyal customer. I had no reason to lie and just wanted the services that I was paying for. I had other issues with them but was willing to overlook them. Charging a customer for services not performed time and time again, however, is unacceptable. If you have Pinch a Penny as your pool maintenance company (particularly in the R section), I suggest you watch your technician and then check to see what they are claiming to have done. read more

My wife and I just moved permanently to Florida and pool ownership is new to us. We were baptized by fire as our "Spool" needed a new heater, filter and we installed a salt cell. Working with the service advisor who came out and Nancy we got the equipment we needed at a great price, and their pool water testing service is great for do it yourselfers. Unfortunately, the same the thing has happened to us more than once. Not sure of why there's a lack of fu and follow through.?? I worked for the state before retiring and we were trained about the importance of Follow Up and Follow Through. So, apparently it has nothing to do with racism just a lack of the above. Our Pool does need help but at least let us know what's needed. Again, our low rating same as the other low rating comment, the staff who came out were Pleasant but didn't have any conversation with us during either visit. We assumed we would get a call or report from our most recent visit several weeks ago. So, we're assuming that their lack of response in terms of fu not including Follow Through confirms their lack of interest in................which is a concern in actually establishing a Business Relationship. A family owned business with excellent service. They go beyond what is expected. Being first time pool owners was not what we expected but they gave us superb guidance and instructions on how to care for our salt water solar heated pool. Definitely a life saver! read more

Having just moved to the area I used Pinch a Penny from a recommendation from previous home owner. I was more than unhappy with my first visit. The kid they sent to my home showed no sense of pride in his work AT ALL! I asked for pool to be drained down as it was all the way to the top from recent heavy rains & skimmer hole was completely under water. He did not drain out water & left his hose hooked up and running all night as I discovered this the next morning! They did send a construction service guy to take a look the next day who was very knowledgeable & showed me how to drain out water and got me all set up to drain. The following week a pool guy came for like 10 minutes - if you are looking for a company that will just come test your water and NOTHING else - then Pinch A Penny is exactly what you're going to get! Needless to say I'm trying a new pool service. read more

I cannot say enough about these folks and particularly about Paul. We had several quotes for a pool renovation - very extensive work. This company wasn't the least expensive, but we picked them because of their thoroughness and energy. The work was truly miraculous and we live out of state, so the daily updates of the work were very much appreciated. Tremendous pride in their work. Terrific communication. Solid and honest people. Please do not use this company.. they are dishonest, unprofessional, and unexperienced technicians. they claimed they were servicing my pool and our out door camera showed proof that they never showed up the days they were supposed to come. and charged us for it anyways. we could not understand why our pool was turning green? they broke our timer and claimed it was not working and needed a new one. We have other clients that have used them that were also unhappy with there service.. I am a host for several properties in the area for Airbnb and we recommend anyone using this company BEWARE!!! read more

I am so disappointed with his company after spending thousands of dollars over the years they are unable to help out a good customer, a simple task of changing a small part on a motor they installed a couple of years ago, I normally would do so but because of a health problem I am unable. Today I went to Pinch A Penny and while shopping was asked by Stacie if she could help me. I proceed to ask her a question, but before finishing my sentence, I asked her if she was talking to me. Mind you, I was shopping and thinking about what I needed. I was not facing her at the time she asked and I had not made eye contact with her when asked. She rudely and sarcastically replied by saying "no I was talking to the floor." I proceeded with my question and fortunately for me Sean another employee who was standing next to her stepped in. He asked me questions to further assist me with what I was looking for. He was able to describe what I was looking for and showed me where it was located. He helped me with my transaction and I left with what I needed. Sean is great! After I left, I asked my girlfriend who was with me if she had heard the interaction I had with Stacie. She did and said Stacie was unprofessional, rude and very sarcastic with her comment. I can't believe Stacie is in customer service and treated me the way she did. I have had previous experiences here and all were positive. The experience I had with Stacie was very negative and disappointing. read more

I've personally been doing business with our local Pinch A Penny for YEARS, they've installed several pieces of our pool equipment and have been servicing our pool since 2014. Anytime I call for help, or have questions, or an issue, they not only get back to me promptly-they handle everything professionally and courteous. Every technician we've had has been experienced and honest, I'd never do business with another pool company. Scorned lovers write poor reviews out of spite, I'd consider calling them or trying them out to see for yourself-these family run pool experts have been absolutely wonderful to my family and I for years!!! read more
