I think the chef needs to taste their food and truly put in some effort into making these items better. My bf and I frequent the AMC right next door, so today after a movie we decided to check this place out. We ordered to share: the lobster roll combo ($25) with the clam chowder fries ($6) and a small 8oz side of lobster bisque ($8). We ordered on a tablet but after we ordered the girl behind the counter offered us two free drinks while we waited and she was super friendly, so 5 stars for service. The vibe of the place is super unique and fun inside, they had little shrimp and lobster magnets and decor and they were playing SpongeBob on tv. Even their packaging was very well presented. Unfortunately I think they need to spend more time perfecting their food than just having a cute vibe. The first bite we took was the lobster bisque and we were both shocked at how lukewarm it was, I almost wanted to go back inside to ask if they could warm it up because it was appalling the temperature they served it. Then we squeezed the lemon on the lobster roll (which we ordered the spicy aioli with) and I was truly surprised at how bland it was. Definitely could have used more sauce but honestly if something is tasty on its own it shouldn't need to be drowned in sauce. I was so glad I was sharing this because no part of me wanted to eat that whole dry flavorless lobster roll. The star of the show for us both was the clam chowder fries, the fries were absolutely tasty and would 100% order these again. In effort to save our experience with the other 2 dishes, we tried dipping the roll into the bisque but we just weren't feeling it at all. The more of the bisque we had, we just tasted pure butter like Paula Deen was back there in the kitchen preparing it herself. It wasn't a delicious indulgent type of buttery taste, it was honestly just too much that we didn't even finish the bisque. We immediately felt gross and bloated and decided we needed a walk before driving home. We walked over to Target with heavy guts and energy depleting quickly. On the walk back toward our car, I had to run to the restroom because the food immediately hit me in the worst way possible. On our drive home our mouths felt so dry and we both just felt awful and my bf ran straight to the restroom right when we got home. Unfortunately, the clam chowder was a huge disappointment. It was heavily over seasoned with salt. At first I thought maybe my taste buds were off because I was sick, but my husband agreed it was far too salty. The mahi mahi and grilled shrimp tacos with the chipotle aioli and lime crema was surprisingly a really good taco. We added cilantro, coleslaw, and pickled red onions which balanced everything out. I personally thought the shrimp was a little on the salty side as well but my husband disagreed. It's basically a chicken breast sprinkled with chili powder, and there's nothing special about the crunch, juiciness, or tenderness. At $13, I'd rather go to Jollibee. Pinchy Bisque: Average. There's a small amount of risotto at the bottom and a few thin strands of what seems like crab meat. I enjoyed their "Spicy Sue" which is their take on a Maine style Lobster roll with spicy aioli and Old Bay seasoning. If they served that as a butter toast at a bakery, it'd be a treat! I just wish that for the price of over $25 after taxes there were a bit more of lobster to give it that beautiful plump bite that makes lobster rolls feel satisfying. The food had no flavor really, rolls were not toasted well I ended up scooping my small portions of lobster out to try to eat it and got a big chunk of shell in it, as well as it having zero flavor. We arrived today right at 11:30 am they were not ready and said we would have to wait, it was just one girl there. Someone else showed up 20 min later. Everything tasted reheated, not fresh and no flavor. The bags and to go boxes are super cute but the handles because they are a thick paper cut our hands, I see how this could be a good concept but I was disappointed I didn't go to my usual spots like hook and anchor or dukes where Ive had exceptional food for the same price! They did throw in free coconut shrimp for the lateness of the order but they were not good.
