Oh my gosh, never thought I'd find a place like this near Newmarket! My friend recommended this place to go to for our girls night, and we did. We got a bunch of food each, but honestly, we could have probably shared because the portions were huge. Service was great, aside from a slight language barrier if you don't have someone with you for some things.

The lunch specials here are cheap & they seem to be offered on weekends too. No wonder this place is so crowded! The staff proactively asked if sugar in the tea was desired which was a nice touch. Pork neck with rice & egg was pretty good. There wasn't a lot of pork but neck is a pricey cut so for the price it was still good. The pork was cooked in a sweet sauce. The egg was surprisingly crispy given it was for takeout. The daily Chinese soup was good with pear, white fungus & some dark coloured meat. Fried rice noodles with beef & tomato soup (ie borscht) were good as per 2 years ago.

We were in the area on a Sunday around 1pm, so came here because there was a long line up at O Street lol We waited couple minutes because it was pretty packed as well. Service was great, lots of waitresses and they were attentive. Food was a bit slow though. We waited about 15 minutes for the baked dish (I guess because it was baked). The tomato/pasta sauce was quite sweet and the hor fun wasn't bad. Definitely a decent choice if you're in the area.

The lunch menu options are great, served with soup and a drink. I tried the Hainanese chicken rice and it was flavourful. Great spot to go for HK cafe style food. They get quite busy on the weekends, our group of 5 waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. Also wanted to note that they charge for takeout containers.

Haven't dined in in a while. Came here on a Thursday night and it was around 7pm, not too busy got seated right away. Noticed their menu has updated (but they didn't/haven't printed new takeout menu). Some items are the same, and some are new such as the stone pot rice and chicken hotpot. Also it looks like they got rid of the afternoon tea(?) We got a 12 pcs chicken wings basket for $19.99 and a ginger scallion chicken rice noodle for $11.99. No drinks with these items unlike some other meals on the menu. We first got the ginger scallion chicken noodles and there's a generous portion of the chicken thigh and ginger scallion. But could use more noodles. I appreciate that the soup isn't tasteless but it's a bit too oily. Chicken wings took a while longer to make but it came out piping hot. It's juicy and not overcooked. It's well marinated, tastes like those salt bake chicken powder. Surprised it comes with fries, similar to Costco ones. Overall, always enjoy eating here.

This is a go to spot for Asian food in Aurora. Located on the strip, I'd recommend getting the hainanese chicken rice and the tomato porkchop rice. They have lunch specials that include a free drink. Good amount of free parking in the plaza. It gets busy here, so come early. Definitely give them a try!

Not many cha chan tang in Newmarket so I'm surprised it took me so long to come to this spot! It definitely surpassed my expectations and now I know I do not need to go to Markham just for a quick HK cafe meal! I found the service to be above and beyond, especially for a Chinese resto! I don't need all the extra check ins and other shenanigans. As long as you're relatively civil and bring me the right food, I'm good with it. I found them to be very kind and even moved us to a table away from the door in case we got cold once they cleaned up one of their tables near the inside. The meals were very reasonably priced and the portions were huge! I got the curry chicken rice and it served as two meals for me. The flavours were sooo good and I got a delicious soup and a lemon tea to go with it - all for 12.99 lunch special. They have all the regular HK cafe meals so there's something for everyone. Left with a full stomach and I am definitely coming back!

It's great to see more Asian restaurants opening on Newmarket. Pine House is a must visit if you're ever craving for some classic HK food, or even Asian food in general! It was very spacious inside with ample seats, however on the weekends, you may find that you'd have to wait a bit for a table (usually not too long). The servers are surprisingly pleasant overall, and were polite with their service. We got their lunch special combos which came with a drink (available before 3pm). The dishes taste fantastic, I loved the ginger scallion oil chicken with rice and would recommend anyone to get this! Only complaint I had was really the drinks, they were just average (we both ordered Coffee with Tea). Usually I don't have much expections for these, but they tasted pretty flavorless which was a little disappointing. IG: Ayenomz

Their all day specials are my favourite! I got the egg sandwich with satay beef vermicelli $8.99 They also come with a drink. Cold drinks are $1 extra. They have lunch specials. I got the beef ho fun and yeung chow fried rice. $12.99 each includes a drink and daily soup. If you pay cash it's 10% off :) best HK cafe in the area.

After many take out orders we wanted to do a sit down lunch. They separated the guests with a reserved sign between tables which made eating inside the restaurant less stressful. The food and service was quite good as usual...even in these tough times.

The Egg ball sandwich! :)

Honey black pepper wings were pretty good: crispy, fresh & juicy. The sauce was sparse & not evenly applied, though. Honey cheese wings were pretty good. The taste was less cloying than Korean cheese powder. There seemed to be no honey though. Scallion pancake was pretty good: slightly dry but flavourful. Fresh pork pan fried buns were good: fluffy yet crispy. Mom's beef burger was not big. The patty was a bit dry. The bun was tasty & fluffy. The honey mustard was pretty nice & there were crispy strips. It was decent & cheap. Tomato noodle with pork chop was decent. The other dishes are better. I whipped out my Fantuan app on my phone and this Mom's Pan Fried Bun caught my attention. I have been meaning to give this eatery a try. There are a couple of locations fairly close to where I live. I haven't been to either yet. Why not do a quick jaunt up to Newmarket to see what the hype is all about? I ordered these items: - Scallion pancakes - Pan-fried pork dumplings (8) - Chive pork dumplings (8) - Mom's special steamed pork soup dumplings (6) I paid through the app and got an estimated pickup time. I took my time driving over to this eatery. When I got to this plaza, I realized that I was here several years ago. The Tim Hortons still anchors it. I don't recall any of the other businesses. I parked fairly close to the restaurant. I then walked into the eatery. I saw a few customers enjoying their food. I'd like to return and sit down for a meal. It looked comfortable. A nice man at the counter said hi to me in Mandarin. I don't speak it, so I ended up letting him know what my Fantuan order was. He nodded and handed over my bag containing my food. He hoped that I'd enjoy my food. I thanked him and headed to my car. I put my food in an insulated bag and drove home. My food was still hot when I got home. I went to town eating dinner. The scallion pancakes were crispy and yummy. They were different from the chewy version that you'd expect. I loved them. The pan-fried pork dumplings were excellent. The filling was tasty. The pan-fried sear at the bottom of each dumpling was perfect and added more flavour. Delicious! I loved the chive dumplings. Chives are so good with pork filling. These dumplings were comforting and yummy. The soup dumplings were also amazing. Each one had the perfect amount of soup. The soup had the right amount of salt. The filling was juicy. The wrapper had the perfect thickness. I loved everything that I ate from Mom's Pan Fried Bun. I'd return to order more good eats from this eatery when I'm in the area again. (151)

My visit to Noodle Max would be one of these unexplained phenomenon. I was really hoping to try this hyped up beef noodle place in Richmond Hill, only to have my hope squashed by a long line up at 4:20pm in the afternoon. 4:20!!! WTH!!! On a snowy, slushy late afternoon, I blindly (and slowly) drove my way aimlessly to Aurora. I remember some Asian restaurant getting rave reviews up in Aurora and that being Noodle Max (maybe it wasn't so aimless). If you are someone who believes in destiny, I can tell you destiny will occasionally give you sxxxxy things. Noodle Max would be one of them. Noodle Max's main offerings are Lan Zhou style noodles and was it ever an unauthentic and underwhelming experience. I wouldn't go as far to say the soup was tasteless like water, but it's pretty bland. While the soup for Lan Zhou noodles are not generally crazy strong in flavour, it should still have the taste of spices. The beef slices were also pretty tame in flavour. They were ok. The main plus about their noodle was the portion; quite big. The noodle had better texture than most store bought noodles, but it did not have the proper floury taste and the limited flavours from the soup was not able to hang onto the noodles. Aurora used to be a black hole in terms of dining options, but not anymore. How Noodle Max continued to garner such a high Yelp and Google rating befuddles me.

Parking: Not going to sugar coat it - depending when you go parking can be tough or easy to find. Get a ride :) Decor: It's cute inside. Some booths and tables. It's nicely decorated. A place you think you want to eat. Open concept kitchen so you watch everyone in the kitchen including the dishwasher. Not sure why. You can't see much because ledge and it only really made the restaurant really really warm because of it. So you order at the counter and go sit down and they bring it to you. . It's hard to tell that this is what you are supposed to do. The only menu is a giant one on the wall next to the cash register. I hate this. It's a sit down restaurant why can't I sit with friends poring over the menu. Instead you have to stand awkwardly at the cash and front door with people standing behind you and a cashier staring at you.Hard to ask questions when you feel so rushed. Staff: Nice. Not sure why there is so many. One thing, when I order at a new place I like to ask what they recommend I get. The person taking the order , who everyone deferred to so I'm assuming he was in charge, had no idea. I asked if there was some sort of signature dish, or something I had to try because it was particularly great -crickets- then he just started reading the menu to me. Um, ok. Food: So I ended up ordering the Bao, Shanghai moon and sesame balls. Bao- soft pillowy bread just like I like it. The flavours were just ok. Not the best I've ever gotten. With some tweaking could be great but it was the best of the three dishes I ordered. Shanghai moon- Shanghai noodles. Pork dumpling, Chinese broccoli, crispy chicken skin. I didn't like this at all and didn't quite finish it even though it was pretty small. IThe noodles were weird, over cooked and undercooked , and the broth tasted very watered down with hardly any flavour or aroma. The dumplings fell apart when I lifted them out of the bowl. The broth was the most disappointing. There were 5 people in the kitchen. Didn't anyone taste anything? Sesame balls. When they came they were 4 tiny balls, im glad they were so small because they were not very good. The filling, black sesame was good but the breading was oily. It was like they were cooked at too low a temp and the balls absorbed a lot of oil. I could only eat 2. I had a bit of the 3rd and couldn't do it. I' originally gave it 2 stars but it was so disappointingly bad I had to change it to 1. I'll come back and try in a few months to see if it's better.

I don't usually trust places with chicken balls on the menu but I'm so glad we gave this place a chance. As a party of 6 on a Saturday at 8pm, they were able to easily accommodate us. Parking is also very easy to find. The menu is very extensive and can easily be overwhelming, with over 100 items. However the staff are very helpful in describing what each item is, recommending what's most popular and what they personally like. We never had Cambodian cuisine before, so we took their recommendations and they were bang-on! It was my first time having Cambodian-style pho - the soup base is garlic based rather than bone broth based, which honestly I think I prefer more! The wings were also crispy (not much special flavour) and beef skewers were very lemongrass-tasting, which was refreshing. Their prices are also not bad at all. If I was in the area, I would definitely come back.

The Cantonese Chow Mein was decent.. good enough to finish but needs the rooster sriracha hot sauce for a nice kick. Their chicken wing appetizer is good and I enjoyed the pickled carrots and pickles with it. Staff is always warm and friendly. Would go back and would recommend.

Amazing comfort food!…read more Came here and have also gotten takeout and both times have been great! Dine in was nice, the restaurant is pretty big, and was clean. We were a large group and everyone enjoyed their food. Service was quick and efficient but I wouldn't say it was overly friendly but I have no complaints. You order through a QR code on your phone so there's really not a lot of server interaction. The noodles are the highlight, thick, chewy and fun to eat; I love that they're freshly made. I really enjoyed the broths also, they were light but very flavourful, some are just a tad on the salty side. Prices are really good for most items, some bowls of noodles are like $10 which is amazing value considering you can get noodle refills! Hard to get full for $10 so this is great value! Other highlights have been the sweet and sour meatballs, they were SO tasty and in a sticky sweet sauce that would have been amazing over rice, however they were a tiny bit pricey at $15. We also ordered a veggie appetizer that was surprisingly delicious and piled high on the plate, it's a great little sharing plate that came with a variety of their different cold appetizer veggies. Overall if I'm feeling like noodle soup, this place will be at the top of the list, value for quality of food is unmatched. Takeout was also great, my soup was still piping hot and the noodles/meat came on the side which helped everything stay fresh and not get soggy. Looking forward to trying other items!
