I've been to Pine House Cafe a couple times. The food is decent- you get what you pay for. The stir fried noodles with beef is a popular dish here, though I found it to be too salty. The satay beef with vermicelli soup was flavourful - although the vegetables (corn, carrots and peas weren't thoroughly cooked and hard). The quality of the food has declined from the last few times I was here. On another note, the staff were nice, accommodating and the service was quick. There are lots of HK style places in the area that opened up, I'm not sure if I'd come back here. Their lunch menu is decent and I know some friends who really like their Hainanese Chicken rice. I recommend sticking with their breakfast/lunch/afternoon tea menus and not their dinner dish combo (e.g 2/3/4/5 dishes that come with rice and soup). The lunch specials here are cheap & they seem to be offered on weekends too. No wonder this place is so crowded! The staff proactively asked if sugar in the tea was desired which was a nice touch. Pork neck with rice & egg was pretty good. There wasn't a lot of pork but neck is a pricey cut so for the price it was still good. The pork was cooked in a sweet sauce. The egg was surprisingly crispy given it was for takeout. The daily Chinese soup was good with pear, white fungus & some dark coloured meat. We were in the area on a Sunday around 1pm, so came here because there was a long line up at O Street lol We waited couple minutes because it was pretty packed as well. Service was great, lots of waitresses and they were attentive. Food was a bit slow though. We waited about 15 minutes for the baked dish (I guess because it was baked). The tomato/pasta sauce was quite sweet and the hor fun wasn't bad. Definitely a decent choice if you're in the area. read more

Haven't dined in in a while. Came here on a Thursday night and it was around 7pm, not too busy got seated right away. Noticed their menu has updated (but they didn't/haven't printed new takeout menu). Some items are the same, and some are new such as the stone pot rice and chicken hotpot. Also it looks like they got rid of the afternoon tea(?) We got a 12 pcs chicken wings basket for $19.99 and a ginger scallion chicken rice noodle for $11.99. No drinks with these items unlike some other meals on the menu. We first got the ginger scallion chicken noodles and there's a generous portion of the chicken thigh and ginger scallion. But could use more noodles. I appreciate that the soup isn't tasteless but it's a bit too oily. Chicken wings took a while longer to make but it came out piping hot. It's juicy and not overcooked. It's well marinated, tastes like those salt bake chicken powder. Surprised it comes with fries, similar to Costco ones. Overall, always enjoy eating here. read more

This is a go to spot for Asian food in Aurora. Located on the strip, I'd recommend getting the hainanese chicken rice and the tomato porkchop rice. They have lunch specials that include a free drink. Good amount of free parking in the plaza. It gets busy here, so come early. Definitely give them a try! read more

Not many cha chan tang in Newmarket so I'm surprised it took me so long to come to this spot! It definitely surpassed my expectations and now I know I do not need to go to Markham just for a quick HK cafe meal! I found the service to be above and beyond, especially for a Chinese resto! I don't need all the extra check ins and other shenanigans. As long as you're relatively civil and bring me the right food, I'm good with it. I found them to be very kind and even moved us to a table away from the door in case we got cold once they cleaned up one of their tables near the inside. The meals were very reasonably priced and the portions were huge! I got the curry chicken rice and it served as two meals for me. The flavours were sooo good and I got a delicious soup and a lemon tea to go with it - all for 12.99 lunch special. They have all the regular HK cafe meals so there's something for everyone. It's great to see more Asian restaurants opening on Newmarket. Pine House is a must visit if you're ever craving for some classic HK food, or even Asian food in general! It was very spacious inside with ample seats, however on the weekends, you may find that you'd have to wait a bit for a table (usually not too long). The servers are surprisingly pleasant overall, and were polite with their service. We got their lunch special combos which came with a drink (available before 3pm). The dishes taste fantastic, I loved the ginger scallion oil chicken with rice and would recommend anyone to get this! Only complaint I had was really the drinks, they were just average (we both ordered Coffee with Tea). Went for lunch and got the lunch set menu that includes soup, drink and main dish. The food was good albeit super thirsty now that I'm done and service was adaquate. Small and cozy place. Overall it was a good experience. Was intrigued by the fact that the take out boxes were 25 cents each. 3 adults, 3 set menu, 3 boxes. 25 cents per box. This newly opened HK style cafe is located where the old chpt 2 was. It's sad to see such a great restaurant close down so let's do our best to support local businesses to prevent another from closing down. We ordered take out for pick up last week for the first time and already we are planning our next order. Yes, it was that good - taste and price wise. They have amazing prices for breakfast combo and happy hours (2-5:30) but even their regular a la cart prices is considered cheap given the area. We ordered beef fried noodles from the happy hour menu and a baked pork chop rice from the regular menu, both were very good. I was told portion for the happy hour is slightly less than the regular but for $9 with a free drink, I thought it was a good portion and very good value. Their HK milk tea is on par with other HK cafes. My parents ordered takeout the following day and they liked it also. It's hard to please older Asian parents so I consider this a win. well well well, a nice HK style cafe in Aurora! this is sweet! I have tried several items on the menu but I think this combo is worth mentioning: All Day Combo A. This one is $8.99 plus tax but if you are willing to pay cash, they will give you 10% off. What you get from this is the Satay Beef vermicelli, Egg sandwich and a drink. Satay Beef Vermicelli - the Satay Beef is rich in Satay flavor sauces and the beef is not too tough - tough beef is common for many satay beef from other HK style cafe. Besides that, the soup is also quite rich, so combine the two together, you got a yummy bowl of vermicelli. One may argue it's not be the best one in TO, but good enough for me. Egg Sandwich - maybe I should call it egg BALL sandwich instead, lol .. holy, it's so thick, just so fun to just looking at it.. haha, or maybe I need to get out more .... The eggs are still quite soft and thick !! what i usually do, I sprinkle a little bit of salt onto the egg before I eat to further enhance the flavour. This is how I would eat it but it's all up to ya, it's your egg ball sandwich! Its one of the biggest egg sandwich I have seen... and for this price, cannot beat that! :) This combo also come with a drink and of course I would get the HK milk tea!. It's rich with evaporated milk and creamy. Again, similar to coffee, everyone may have their own preference on HK milk tea so hopefully this one would be your cup of tea. An amazing addition to Newmarket! The prices are good and they have deals for afternoon tea starting at 2:30. We've tried the fried rice noodles with beef, clubhouse sandwich, chicken wings and fries, and street style cheung fun. The fried rice noodle with beef is a must try here! We get it everytime we order because it is just that good! So flavorful and has "wok hay". The surprise here is the like tea. We upsize for $1 everytime and wished it came in an even bigger size, it's never enough! It is strong and fragrant, no need to drive to Markham for a milk tea anymore! read more

Food was decent at best, but service was terrible and management was even worse. I ordered sliced beef spaghetti with black pepper from their menu which was listed $9.99 when the bill came it showed $11.99 so I told the server and her response in cantonese was "no way it would be $9.99, that's impossible". During her disbelief she went to grab me a menu asking me to prove it to her. When I pointed it out she embarrassedly said that I was correct and would go talk to the owner/manager. After a few moments she returned and said "$11.99 is the price in our computer system that menu price is wrong" and implied that it wasn't their mistake and that I would have to pay $11.99. It was not a lot of money so I didn't bother with it any further. I just paid it and left, but was very disappointed in the way they handled the whole situation. The owner/manager did not even come out to try and handle or explain the issue at any point in time or even own up to their mistake. Advertising at one price, but charging a higher price afterwards is just plain fraud. I feel that they should have at least given me an apology even if they don't honour their mistake, but instead they just basically said too bad you need to pay because that's the price. read more
