I had some takeout food for my family last night, Saturday, and we were very disappointed. I ordered the French dip sandwich with onion rings, my husband ordered chili, and my grandson ordered a cheese pizza. The French dip sandwich was salty, with very little meat, and the onion rings were burned almost black and also very salty, almost to the point of being unpalatable. My husband's chili was good. He said, "My grandson's cheese pizza looked good, but was like a hard, chewy piece of cardboard," and I tasted it, and I agree. They had been here once before for dinner, dine-in, about eight months ago, and I was pretty pleased. Not sure if the times are tough, or if they've had a change in style, but the food has really gone downhill. It's very sad to see if that's the case because it seems like any place that opens in the village at Somersett doesn't do very well. Who knows what the reason is. All I know is that I spent $60 on food that I ended up mostly throwing away because it was unpalatable. That's not good in this day and age. read more

We have been here once before and enjoyed it well enough. Nothing special, also nothing wrong. We came back because we wanted to support a local business. We live in Somersett. However, I waited 7 minutes at the front of the restaurant and no one came by. The bartender saw me, made eye contact, and looked away. No acknowledgement. Perhaps she was waiting for me to come to the bar? I'm not sure. But it really rubbed me the wrong way that she saw me waiting and ignored me, especially when the sign says wait to be seated. read more

It's definitely a bit of a drive if you don't live in the area. Very simple and minimal decor. Came in on a Saturday evening craving a burger. We both got the "just a burger". Service was ok. The server seemed a bit rushed. The bar was pretty full, but the dining area was empty. The music being played on the speakers was very loud. Almost made it difficult to be heard across the table. There are plenty of pubs and taverns in central or south Reno that offer a bit more of that type of vibe you would expect, but I'll keep Pine Ridge in the rotation if I'm in the area. read more

The restaurant is large, split into a few different areas, and the service moved along at a steady pace. Our server stayed friendly and checked on us without hovering. The bar is fully stocked, and the food leans toward casual comfort bar food. The pizzas seem to be their strong suit. We ordered the Meaty and it was flavorful and satisfying. My first time dining here and most likely my last. Sorry. I ordered Penne Bolognese which was their supposed house specialty. The menu description reads "House specialty of ground beef, pork, red wine reduction, cream, garlic and herbs in a reduced Roma tomato blend". Sounds good, right? Wrong. The proportion of sauce to pasta was off. Way more meat sauce than penne. The meat sauce didn't look or taste like anything special so I'm not sure why this is a house specialty? And their garlic bread was just sad. I didn't see or taste any garlic or butter. Just a sprinkle of Italian seasoning on the bread. Please see pictures. The price at $22 is hardly justified. My sister ordered a mushroom burger and I'll admit that tasted better than my pitiful pasta. Can't go wrong with that. The ambience was just dark. Dark paint colors on the walls and not enough windows. I felt claustrophobic. However, we could've dined outside but we had a baby and a toddler with us and it was quite windy. On a positive note, our server was nice. She did check up on us from time to time. I give it a solid 2.5 stars. read more

The Pine Ridge Tavern just opened. Everything is new, spotlessly clean, the staff is over the top friendly & anxious to help with any questions about the menu. Even the owner/chef came to our table to answer a question the server wasn't sure about. Their prices are moderate. A copy of the menu can be found above and/or on Google. This new restaurant is tucked away in the Town Square shopping center in Somerset, just off Somerset parkway. Really nice interior and a great staff. They have outside seating too. I had a pizza - see photo. They have lots of yummy options so I'll be back soon. GREAT background music!! Highly recommend, Yelpers! Second visit today - Some staff are still training so had to remind myself to be patient. I wouldn't recommend the beef dip. Even with the au jus and added provolone it was dry. Very tasty, but dry. French fries are terrific. My friend had a burger and ate every bite which I have never seen her do in the 30 years we have known each other. To me, that says a lot. read more

We were at the Town Center car show and decided to go here for lunch. It's a new restaurant, and we wanted to give it a try. The interior is all new, but doesn't seem to be decorated as of yet. Maybe it's a work in progress. The staff was very pleasant, and the menu looked pretty good. After ordering, it took quite some time to get our food. But, they did apologize for the wait. The nachos arrived, and we were happy to see a mix of toppings, but they use a cheese sauce not actual melted cheese. See photo. The Asian chicken salads were okay, not great. The melon with prosciutto was fresh and tasty. My friend ordered a hot dog that was disappointing... Overcooked dry old hot dog in a Wonder Bread bun. At least they could have used a Nathan's or a Ballpark Frank. I guess maybe the hot dogs are just meant for little kids. We will give this restaurant another try in a month. I've been here three times and yes probably at first because I live near by but it's clean, and a minimalist decor. I really enjoy the outdoor seating which is chill and social, and my dog likes to join me, and the food is good. My favorite pizza is the Greek pizza, as well as the cheesesteak pizza. The new lunch special is worth bragging about for $10!! Lunch? I'm excited to try the happy hour too. Look they are still working out a few things but I'm personally glad that we've got a spot here in Somersett to enjoy a night or afternoon out. My personal favorite dessert was the cookies and ice cream for a night out for dessert too. Plenty of parking and a good spot to get out of downtown and enjoy a cocktail at sunset with charcuterie. Ps. If you're in a hurry this is not your place, there are plenty of places to go in a rush, and this place is unique and wonderful for connections with friends, It will help you sit back and, relax and enjoy life. My friend and I went here the other day. This was the first time I went here since Peavine Tap left. We went inside to get a table and decided to go outside as it was too noisy. It was a nice day and the tables were clean. Waitress came over got our order. My friend decided to try the Philly cheesesteak pizza and I got a small salad and buffalo wings. The wings looked liked they got burnt but it didn't taste like it. They were really good. Salad was just a house, nothing to brag about. My friends pizza came and she was not happy. Instead of provolone cheese, they poured a cheese sauce on it. Weird. She had me try the sauce. It wasn't bad it was just bland. It needed seasoning. The manager came out and took the pizza off our bill and gave her a melon wrapped with prosciutto. Very good!! I was glad to see the manager made it right. I hope this business makes it. This is a new restaurant and I desperately want it to succeed. Twice I've ordered items with cheese, but it turned out to be a cheese sauce that had no flavor. I've had the prosciutto wrapped melon twice, and it was delicious both times. The nachos and Philly cheesesteak pizza. We're both not good and Management took them off my bill. read more

Four of us went here for lunch, and had three different dishes. I had the margarita pizza, my husband had the pastrami burger, and our friends shared the beef dip. My husband ordered potato salad with his burger, and when the server brought it, she said they thought the potatoes weren't cooked enough. They were right, and immediately replaced it with a HUGE helping of fries. He was so impressed that they suggested he try it rather than making him request a replacement! The service was phenomenal, from the owner welcoming us, and the waitstaff was friendly and quick. The place is also really cute, and (this sounds odd) but the chairs were super comfortable! If you know me, you know sushi is my love language--and Sakana at Town Square Summerset totally has my heart (hands-down the best in Reno!). The only bummer? They're closed for lunch Monday-Thursday. So, I decided to cheat on sushi and check out the new Pine Ridge Tavern for lunch instead. First impressions? Fantastic. We were already excited to see one of our favorite bartenders from Chop 40 running the show behind the bar--major win! We went for a "make your own" pizza, and oh. my. goodness. My taste buds basically threw a party. The sauce? Homemade. Rich. Incredible. Honestly the best pizza I've had in Reno--period. And beyond the food, the people made it even better. The owner was so personable, and we even got to meet his son--adorable, polite, and just an impressive young man. If he were mine, I'd be beaming with pride too. Very disappointed. Worst pizza I have ever had. Ordered the margherita pizza to go. They said twenty minutes. Showed up on time and pizza was not ready, no big deal. 10 minutes go by and still nothing. I'm now being told my pizza just went in the oven and shouldn't be long. Red flag right there, 15 minutes later I have my pizza . So I walk home with the pizza which is about 3 minutes open up the pizza and just by the looks I can tell it's not going to be good. First of all the fresh mozzarella if you call it that wasn't even melted, fresh basil was obviously cooked in the oven with the pizza and lastly why was there balsamic drizzle on the pizza wasn't in the description for the pizza when ordering and definitely wouldn't ask for that on my pizza. Was hoping for a neighborhood gem but, got a dud. Better change things fast or you won't last. read more

We invited the neighbors to join us for trying out the new restaurant in the Somerset town center. We ordered a pizza that was featured on KTVN News night before and looked delicious. We all agree that it was a delicious pizza, but it was lacking in lamb out of the eight slices that the large pizza had, there was only one piece of lamb on each slice The rest of the toppings were delicious and the crust was send and also very tasty We ordered two of their Spinach salads and they were very good with fresh spinach, lots of dried cranberries, feta cheese, and candied walnuts All in all, we were very happy with the food we were served, but we would've liked a little more lamb on the pizza we plan to go back and try the rigatoni that is high on my husband's list So please give this new restaurant a try and let's make it work ! read more

After hearing so much good things about the new joint in Sommerset, I decided it was time for me and my husband to try it... boy let me tell you my expectations were exceeded! I got the Chinese chicken salad and pizza and they were both superb! The chicken in the salad was not tough at all and the salad-to-dressing ratio was great (I find most places don't give enough dressing at all). And for my pizza, I can now confidently say that I get it AT LEAST 3 times a week!!! The dough is always cooked perfect and its never overcooked! Just ate here for the first time and loved it. We sat outside with excellent service to enjoy the warm night. The pretzel appetizer was amazing with a delicious mustard sauce and a cheese sauce. All 4 of us said it was one of the best pretzels we've ever had. We also ordered the greek pizza, cheese pizza and a western burger. The Greek pizza was delicious and will be a go to for us. The cheese pizza was very good. My son had the burger and he said the patty was pretty thin. At $18 for a burger we thought it should be more robust. For desert we shared the warm chocolate chip cookies with vanilla gelato and wow was it good! To top it off they have Guinness on tap! We will be back very soon. We asked not to change pastrami meat and it was changed, from Smokey super tasty to tasteless, very disappointing. Meatball sandwich not very good ,very bland, French fry's are great. Meatball sandwich are crumbles that are used on pizza. Whole meatball would be much better. Pizza was tissue thin asked if it came with directions, or would have been afraid to ordered a thin crust. Edited: On my 2nd visit the pretzel bites were still amazing, although the presentation could have been better. And the Brie was just ok. Too much Brie, not enough jam or items to dip in it. Fries were still yummy, got a Philly Cheesesteak which was good, but not quite enough flavor. My son got the Bolognese which was good, but again the plating could be improved. Original Review: That moment when you take the first bite and gasp because it is so good, that's what happened to us today. We got two appetizers, the Baked Brie and the Salted Pretzel Bites. They were both so delicious, we can't wait until the next time we can have them again. We also had two of the pizzas, the Greek & the Margherita - both amazing. Two in our party had heard that even their all beef hot dogs were good and they, plus the fries, did not disappoint. I had the Chinese Chicken Salad which I'd definitely order again. I wanted to like this place but just couldn't. The greek pizza was soggy and had so much sauce on it the crust underneath just dissolved. The pastrami sandwich was too salty. The restaurant itself was pretty empty on a Thursday night except for a handful of the over 60 Crowd. Not a great vibe or food. Most likely won't be back. read more

Wow I don't know where to start. We decided to try this restaurant for the first time and it will definitely be the last! We were sat and the waitress took our drink order, received my drink but that was the last of her. 20 minutes and she still had not returned to take our food order. We left! Super chill place with a local vibe. Hasn't been open long. Came in fairly late on a Wednesday night and it was pretty quiet. Sat at the bar. Ended up meeting Steve, the owner of the place, that was taking a moment to grab some food during a lull in what he explained had been an arduous 9 month process getting the place renovated and opened. Honestly what impressed me most was how he treated his staff; offered a couple pieces of pizza to the bartender and a member of the kitchen staff that came out to see if all was well before the staffer went home for the night. Lots of appreciation in Steve's tone and demeanor for the people working there. Anyway, my Philly cheesesteak was great, fries were on point, my buddy's pasta bolognese was similarly great. Nice people, great service, and a nice quiet location with a good community vibe. Spotlessly clean as well. 10/10 recommend and I wish Steve lots of success! read more
