We came here for my boyfriend's mom's birthday dinner and had such a great experience. I ordered the mushroom ravioli and it was incredible, so rich and creamy without being too heavy. The ingredients tasted really fresh and high quality, and it was super filling. My boyfriend ordered the cioppino, and it was absolutely beautiful when it came out. I didn't try it, but it looked packed with seafood and he enjoyed it very much. The restaurant itself feels really comfortable and inviting, and our waiter made the evening even better. He was kind, attentive, and entertaining without ever feeling overbearing. It's a little pricier than somewhere we'd go on a random weeknight, but it feels well worth it for birthdays, anniversaries, or other special occasions. Three of us went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Surprisingly it wasn't that crowded so we were probably seated. Their menu is diverse and had lots of choices. Our server arrived soon after we we sat down and took our drink order. While she was getting our drinks, and continued to look at the menu. When she delivered our drinks, she also took our food order. My husband and I decided to split a house salad and I ordered the scallops for my entree. When our salads were delivered, we also got a bread basket. The salad was crispy and fresh and the bread was warm and delicious. Shortly thereafter, our dinners arrived. In addition to my scallops, my husband had the petrale sole and our friend had the Louie shrimp and crab salad. As I was looking at my dinner, I noticed it was served with mashed potatoes, not the risotto as described on the menu. I mentioned this to our server and she probably corrected the issue. The scallops had a nice sear on the outside yet were moist and tender when you cut into them. The risotto was delicious and the vegetables were sautéed perfectly. Everyone else liked their dinners too. The ambience is lively and energetic and your phone bust the tables are very close together. The only issue I have is the chairs have a wooden seat and a wooden back and are incredibly uncomfortable. It's almost as if they do that to discourage you from chatting and lingering after your meal. But I could be wrong about that. I would definitely go back. We finally made it to The Grille at Quail Corners for dinner with friends, and our only regret is that we didn't visit sooner! It was a fantastic evening with great food and attentive service. The Food The menu offered a great variety, and everyone at the table was impressed with their selections: * Steak Frites: My steak was cooked perfectly and topped with a rich, savory demiglace that pulled the whole dish together. The shoestring potatoes were a highlight--crispy, light, and addictive. * Louis Louis Louis Salad: This was a showstopper. I've had my doubts about the new ownership of the Grill At Qusil Corner. Yes, food prices have gone up but the subtle changes made since new ownership took over made me sad. The Crab and Truffle Mac and Cheese being my biggest disappointment. They no longer add black truffle and crab is extra. It felt like a punishment. I've also experienced a couple unpleasant wait staff. I'd all but given up on the Grill. Recently I was invited to join some dear friends. I just went along. Surprise, what a great experience we had. The waiter was perhaps the star of the show. Having said that, they still make a mean martini! Both very important criteria! I chose the Louie salad and it was fantastic. Great happy hour meet up with friends today. Menu has lots of variety for everyone's tastes and super prices. My friends ordered the artichoke dip, egg rolls, street tacos and a quesadilla off of the happy hour menu to share...and they loved them all. I chose a house salad with grilled salmon and it was a healthy perfect light dinner. We also had great service from Steven, who is consistently attentive. Chris and I came for happy hour OMG it was so good and the service is outstanding!! I love the shrimp scampi with bread for dipping it in. The fantastic butter sauce with capers, potstickers and egg rolls!!! We had the happy hour Chardonnay from Napa Valley Beringer Winery. It is so good and buttery!!! The salmon was perfection and so we're the drinks. I think the steak frites was a little on the dry side. One group asked for two well done steaks and they got medium. We did have a large group. So its understandable how they could have mixed them up. Overall I loved the salmon. Didnt care much for the steak. Glad I chose it. They have really good wine options too. The staff is friendly and supported our group well. We had a private area for the large party we had. Overall a must try place. Its very popular. A friend of ours give us some gift certificates to The Grill. We had never been here before and decided to go for an early dinner tonight. We made reservations for 5pm and were sat immediately. Our server was so nice, I wish I could remember his name. He was attentive, but still gave us our space. A perfect medium. We ordered the Seafood Paella, 12 oz Ribeye and two desserts. (..bc why not). Everything was super good! My only knit pick is that I wish the creamy horseradish didn't just taste like sour cream... and I wish the Tiramisu had slightly more coffee flavor to it. The food is quite delicious for dinner. The New York strip was as wide as the plate. It was tender, cooked exactly as ordered and delicious! The bacon wrapped scallops were fantastic! My husband I went here recently. The quality of the food was pretty good and so was the service. Very noisy which is not what we prefer. They added a percentage to the bill to use a credit card. It would be a nice touch if the Owner/ Manager would take some time to touch base with frequent diners. In the restaurant hospitality business, it is known as doing the laps. The food is always very well prepared and delivered. Recently, the addition of warmed plates makes a big difference. The ambience of the restaurant is very good. The only improvement that might be welcomed is the veal marsala should be pounded thin and not served as a veal steak. Tenderizing of the veal should not take place during early dining hours. It is disruptive to those seated at the bar next to the open kitchen. I have to mention last evening's halibut with Jasmine rice and asparagus was mediocre at best. Needed either a sauce over the dry halibut, which was further unappealing by the dry rice. read more

We enjoy the service in the bar so much we rarely eat in the dining room. Our go to stop for a light dinner before every performance we attend at the Pioneer Theater. As always, my ceasar with salmon was great, my wife enjoyed a wedge salad + grilled chicken, great fresh-baked bread, and we treated ourselves to great blueberry bread pudding. All great as always. But we always enjoy more formal dinners, with a great menu of steak and seafood, plus cioppino, paella, prime rib (Saturdays), and many great specials. Appetizers were DELICIOUS! We got the steamers, calamari strips, and seared ahi. As for the entrees, I got the petrale sole, such a big serving of the fish, loved the flavor! My mom for the salmon, she said it was well cooked but lacked a little bit of seasoning. My sister and boyfriend liked their chicken pasta but also said it lacked a little flavor. We sat ourselves at the bar since it was happy hour. The HH was reasonably priced and a solid value. House wine, both sav blanc and cab were decent. I wasn't terribly hungry, so I ordered the tacos from the HH menu for my meal and they were delicious (chef's choice daily so it changes, not your choice). The wife had clams from their standard menu, she was quite content with them aside from a bit more sand that could have been purged but overall, she said they were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Staff were busy, especially on the bar side so I did notice my order sit waiting to be brought out for a few minutes but it didn't affect the quality of the order. I was recently urged to try The Grill while I was at an event. It sounded great and the pictures and menu all looked good. We made our way and found a tight parking lot in the busy business and medical park. The restaurant was busy, but only about 3/4 full. The tables are super tight as well. As each table around us was seated or when a table got up to leave they would have to ask others to scoot in or get up. I suppose it is good problem to have as the owner of an establishment, but what does it say about the comfort for your diners? Four different tables had to stand up so that a lady on a walker could get to her table. It is not a charming tight like the original squeeze-in, but an obvious over crowding of tables. It would not pass an ADA audit and may even be hazardous in an emergency. To get to the restrooms, you have to either go outside and then back in or walk through the servers prep station and have them give you dirty looks. I went outside and froze to return to my table. All of this might be expected at a dive bar but not at a "fine dining" establishment where lunch for 3 was more than $100. That being said the service was just ok. We were told that there were specials but the server never brought the paper that had them on it. We were never offered or given refills, even on coffee which had turned ice cold well before the food came. The food was actually very good. Everything else was a bit of a let down. read more

This is actually my second review for this spot, and like I always say--I don't write reviews unless a place really goes above and beyond, and I just have to share so others can enjoy it too. My wife and I came here on 7/21 for our anniversary, and we had the most wonderful, cozy, and quiet night. We didn't even mention to the hostess that it was our anniversary, yet somehow we got seated at this perfect little table for two tucked away in the back by a window. It felt private, special, and honestly, it was the perfect start to our evening. We kicked things off with two salads drizzled with balsamic glaze--fresh, flavorful, and just delicious. Then we ordered the grilled mozzarella, which has been a favorite of ours for years. It did not disappoint! There's just something about dipping that warm bread into the white wine and butter sauce that never gets old--it's easily one of our all-time favorite dishes here. We were also craving a really good pizza, so we went with the Margherita. Oh. My. Goodness. It was so good we actually set some aside just to savor later. We paired everything with a few glasses of Cabernet, which hit the spot and gave us that happy, warm-and-fuzzy feeling. The service? Absolutely wonderful. Our server was polite, friendly, and incredibly attentive--all without knowing it was our anniversary. I can only imagine how much more spoiled we might've been if she had known! Bottom line: between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, this place continues to be a gem. If you haven't had the pleasure of dining here yet, do yourself a favor and go. The hibiscus margarita was amazing with a great blend of casamigos tequila and other ingredients (generous pours). The salmon and mushroom risotto and Thai chicken salad were both delicious. Each was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Dining outside rather than inside was a great last minute switch on our part because the weather and atmosphere was perfect. We had a 7pm reservation for six (three couples) to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were seated promptly, and while the restaurant was quite busy, we understood there might be a short delay for drinks. Our waitress brought half of them first, with the remaining drinks arriving about 5-8 minutes later. As the evening went on and the restaurant began to clear out, our waitress seemed to disappear--possibly on break--leaving us waiting about 15 minutes before we asked another server for bread. That server was very helpful and also let our waitress know we wanted to order appetizers. Our waitress returned shortly after to take the order, and about ten minutes later came back for our entrées. Once the food arrived, everything was excellent--each dish was delicious and well-prepared. We declined dessert, but given that it was a birthday celebration, it would have been a nice touch if the waitress had brought something small to acknowledge the occasion. Overall, the food was outstanding, but the service felt a bit inconsistent. With a little more attentiveness, it could have been a perfect evening. read more

The Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in Reno. They offer great food and excellent service.

It's alright. Went for dinner on a weekday with some girlfriends. It's a nice space with pretty lighting, and the outdoor patio looks like it will be nice in warmer weather. Our server was great and kept our waters filled. I'm not super impressed with the food, however. I got the sole with linguine, their signature dish. It was good, but not for the price. I had to add salt and there just wasn't any flavor anywhere in the dish. The sole itself was fried crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The linguine was al dente but the sauce just seemed creamy with not much flavor. For the price, they offer bread only, no soup or salad. I guess it doesn't bother some folks--the place was pretty full on a week night! read more
